Maf, you would be right it that was an adult foot. It wasn`t. Kids should be treated leniently.
So, I was angry at sth else. :):)

Bismarck? LOL!

Nope. Such monuments were pulled down just after WW2.

Now when I look at the shadow it is obvious, but couldn't see it before.

The photos show the route which we covered during the Night of the Museums. The Barbican, NBP bank building, Jagielło monument etc.

No, it was Czartoryski Museum.

Why was I pissed off with this view?

Life / Is the palace in Warsaw going to be rebuilt? [29]

I think if Hungarians can do it, Poles have the sources to do it too:

There is sth wrong with logic in your post.

The title of your link is Hungarians rebuilding their traditional architecture which was torn down by the Communists.

What does it have in common with rebuilding the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw?

I have the feeling it's a normal alternate to mankind in the US, maybe not the UK...

As far as I imagine, the US is much more obsessed with PC than Europe.

in the meantime:

Which museum in Krakow is it?

It comes from a monument - someone is sitting on the horse.

Exactly. Do you know who it is? Why not tell us? :)

or humankind....

You mean PC now? It has never occured to me to apply it to mankind, let alone I even didn `t know such a word as humankind exists. :):)

Ok, round 2. Is it a bison or now extinct Auroch?

Sorry, I need to repeat: It is a very serious mammal, which enabled people to do great things in history.

To make it sound more serious, let`s change people into mankind.

Let`s start from the very logical beginning: where does the shadow come from?

Yes, of course. Why such a queue? People are queuing to get sth for free. :)

Travel / Poland in photo riddles [3134]

When I said close, I meant you guessed there is an animal in the shadow. But it doesn`t mean they are so similar/alike.

Besides, boars haven`t enabled people to do great things in history. Even if they did, they were uncomparably surpassed by other mammals.

Is it a cartoon character animal?

Nope. It is a very serious mammal, which enabled people do great things in history. And the shadow isn`t a joke, either. It is a serious shadow in Krakow.

Polish history is quite beyond belief sometimes :-)

Unfortunately, such things as marbled stables contributed to the fall of Poland.

Yes, Milo. Crossaxe was a defensive palace with very rich interiors. E.g, horses were kept in stables tiled with marble and giant mirrors on the walls.

so I moved onto museums etc.

I do admire your industrious zeal. Unremittant. If all or at least most of my students were like that, they would need to drag me out of school with a tractor .:):)

It looks like a dog

You are close with this animal. But the shadow was cast by another mammal.

It is NBP - National Bank of Poland. :)

I forgot to add: those figures on top are allegorical representations of two pillars of the bank - industry and farming. The building was erected in 1920s.

Work / Opening a kindergarten / daycare business in Poland [12]

Hmm, there are a lot of sites explaining how to set up a kindergarten. In Polish of course. But they claim it is not so difficult as it may seem.

E.g,
ifirma.pl/blog/poradnik-przedsiebiorcy/jak-zalozyc-przedszkole-krok-po-kroku.html

Are you a EU citizen? Then you have the same rights as a Polish one and such sites are for you , too.

Yes, the adjacent building from the previous photo. :)

Why such a queue?

No, they are other allegorical figures which represent the main "pillars" of the institution located there.

Hint: Mind the perspective. Where was I taking the pic of that building?

In the meantime

What is this bay window tower attached to?

I would imagine the stench would have been enough to keep any potential invaders at bay!

Invaders weren`t scared off by the stench coz they smelled awful themselves. :)

Yes, Krzyżtopór Castle.

Yes, Barbican. Minus the turrets? No, they are there on the model, but the pic quality is bad.

See a closer view. .

And a riddle after it:

What is the function of this building?

Also, latrines? Am I getting warmer?

as the School of Economics Complex?

Yes, perfect! As a student, we visited it to look for girlfriends coz there were mostly female students. :)

Where was I?

Polonia / Poles in Kazakhstan ignored by the "Polish" state. [18]

Milo
Very much, you probably didn`t read the post to the end. OP suggested that the previous government ignored Kazachstan Poles.

So called Polish State ruled by Polish Soviets takes in about eight to 20 families

Today PiS is doing the same.

They're less Soviet then an alternative.

No, bigger coz it is PiS which introduced the so called "good change" in order to make Poles "rise from their knees. " But that seemingly doesn`t apply to Kazachstan Poles coz they have no voting power.

Apart from the functions you mentioned, a part of the tower was also used as a facility to which kings have to walk. Namely what?

In the meantime:

Any idea what is located here?

and the police pass by me without a word because he is at my right heel.

That`s wrong coz each dog can go crazy for reasons unknown to human owners and attack another person out of the blue. There are a few dozen cases of seriously bitten, virtually massacred children, sometimes by dogs whose owners claimed after the event: he has always been so good with kids!,.

Polonia / What are qualites of Germans? [60]

German bad qualities: sometimes too orderly, not social in public, very bureaucratic.

Sometimes Polish wives of German husbands complain they are unable to weasel sly solutions to everyday problems like Polish men.
