UK, Ireland / Poland and Britain? What has caused the downtur in the UK? [28]

No-one bats an eyelid.

so easy for some spoilt "expat" to make sweeping statements and become convinced nobody is as clever or as "aware" as themselves. Its a very common syndrome is people who leave the UK.

and there's plenty more where that came from if you could be bothered to look, rather than making "clever" comments from 2000 miles away.

News / Poland ready to receive Libyan refugees [159]

Advocating democracy doesn't mean the US has to occupy and (consequently bomb) every country under oppressive regimes.

only the ones with plenty of oil..:)

Language / Duzy in place names [3]

In UK there are many tiny villages or small towns called "Great... this or that" or "Greater"...e.g. Great Missenden or Great Barcombe (one pub and one shop!)

The reasons for this are lost in the mists of time....maybe once there were two villages there, one small and one bigger. SO many villages have now been destroyed through clearances, enclosures, motorway building or urbanizations...I suppose this is the same across Europe inc. Poland.

I would just translate it as Great....
Maybe once these places were comparatively "Great" and now not. I mean look at "Great Britain"!!

UK, Ireland / Are you Poles proud of your country? Then why do you keep coming to Britain? [100]

I believe the men/women who marry/have children with polish are as bad as the poles who come here.

You troll, don't insult me, you know nothing about anything. People are people. I would not like to meet your type in the pub or anywhere else.

You obviously have drug or alchohol or other psychological issues.
Maybe this great song will help you. Maybe we should spend more time sharing videos and less time being spiteful.

UK, Ireland / Poles top the UK's EU crime figures [78]

Crap argument,

no it is not a crap argument. Many British Immigrants to Spain show disregard and contempt for the locals. Additionally they put pressure on local services such as education (loads of British kids in Spanish schools)and healthcare. Yes alot of them are old (extra pressure on healthcare) , and many of them make no attempt to learn the language.

Many of them are of working age, in a country with 20 per cent unemployment. And many of them do display a kind of neo colonial attitude.

And that is only ONE country. It is hardly a "crap" argument to be summarily dismissed.
Anyway my point to Graham Barber is that if he doesn't like things, he can make changes, instead of sitting at his PC foaming at the mouth. (yes I am dieseldyke..:)

Yes there are POlish criminals of course. They are hardly representative of the majority of hard working people.

If you are white then any Polish city is safer than let's say... London

what is this nonsense?
I feel wayyyyy safer in Brixton, London, than I have done on one or two memorable occasions in small town (and city) Poland...(no offence meant to anyone except to obsessed Jarnowa) and BTW yes I am white..:)

Language / Polish case structure secrets: knowing which words go in which position? [9]

she put a bouquet of cut roses on the table

yes but Chaza when would you really NEED to say this in everyday communication? I suggest never!
Surely it would be better to learn by listening out for phrases that people say again and again in normal situations, and try to repeat and remember them?

throw the bloody books away

good idea!

News / Poland liberalizes drug laws in effort to focus on treatment [35]

If the illegal drugs became legal here, my state would be lost in hopeless drug addiction. It would be so widespread, it would just be insane.

maybe there's a deeper problem with your society that needs to be addressed?..:)

News / Poland liberalizes drug laws in effort to focus on treatment [35]

it was just too depressing how many are dead or inside.

but if the drugs they chose had been legal they would probably still be alive and free....it's the very illegality that kills people and destroys lives....bad cuts and running around trying to get the stuff, mixing with lowlife, using dirty works and so on and so on.

I am sure there are plenty of doctors who have been addicted to nice clean available morphine for years, and are no more more fecked up than your average "social drinker".

Feedback / A Personal Request to all PF members [119]

I am surprised and shocked to see you bring this into this thread.

But you said you had never made any degrading comments about British people, and I have easily proved you wrong. Now you're telling me you're a "good" person, and suggesting that I am not...I think that is called rank hypocrisy.

Incidentally you addressed your thread to "all PFmembers" - remember?

sometimes a simple Polish person might become somehow indirectly effected by a lame comment in here. I am sure no proper person would want it right?

And a simple "brit" might be indirectly affected by your "lame" (does anybody still really say that?) comments about them...or is that different?
