Life / Do Poles drink before noon? [95]

Yes. When I know I don`t need to drive, I drink all day since the morning. First beer (from 8-12), then wine (12-4), next vodka/whisky(4-8) and eventually undiluted spirit (8-10).

You recently painted the pen and want to make sure the tortoise doesn't lick the paint off?

Also funny but nope. :):):)

Hint: Why is the tortoise outside while it can be inside?

Life / Are surf/skate clothes popular among Polish kids? [15]

Dear female poster friends,

Those baggy trousers you have presented are called sindbads or alladins. They were fashionable a year or two ago but don`t belong to surf/skate garb.

Yes.

Do not hold a grudge against me, but I prefer Gdynia`s coat. I just love fish. Sorry.

Food / Sauekraut and Peas served at Wigilia [15]

You certainly didn`t read a great English writer:

There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,
Than are dreamt of in your philosophy.

Food / Kopytka, pyzy, kluski [60]

My grandfather used to make potato dumplings he called sinkers. He would use potatoes, flour, baking powder, salted water, but would make them softball size when boiling, cut them into smaller pieces and then fry them in lard. Is there a recipe with exact amounts on the ingredients, or do you just guess at the consistency before putting into the water?

What comes to mind is pyzy:

UK, Ireland / The Irish, the biggest tax evaders ever [21]

The Irish, the biggest tax evaders ever

Wow, very interesting. It seems that tax evasion is prevalent in Western Europe. I talked to a few foreign guys and after a few shots of Polish vodka, they all admitted that they hide part of their profits from the state. One Dutchman tried to excuse himself by saying he prefers giving tax evaded money to his daughter who is studying than to the state.

News / Too much change in Poland?! [25]

Poland is often referred to as conservative because of upholding traditons, the family, traditonal values, religious beliefs, etc.

Yes.

On the otehr hand, at the official level there is so much change in Poland that the result is instability. Poland had 4 constitutions in the 20th century (7 if we include interim Little Constitutions).

Comparing traditional values to official level isn`t a good idea, I suppose.
