News / GDP of Poland.. 338 billion pop-38.5mil Cali GDP 1.7 Trillion pop-37.7mil [70]

That's not my fault,

Sorry, it is only your fault because you are not able to read your own link properly:

it didn't mention the metropolitan area it said Philadelphia

According to the Bureau of Economic Analysis, the Philadelphia area had a total gross metropolitanproduct of $347 billion in 2010, the seventh-largest metropolitan economy in the United States.[65]

And i knew the metro population and where it begins and ends way before you looked it up on your little computer. You've never even actually been here.

If you knew it, why didn`t you write about it from the very beginning?

You are the typical stupid highlander aren't you?

I may be stupid but I am still three times smarter than you, you quarterwit. :):):)

I said: check the data you provided and correct your silly mistake.

Philadelphia the CITY where I live in has a population of 1.5 million and GDP of $388 billion!

Are you intelligent enough to see your blunder or not?

News / Rest in Peace Anna Walentynowicz or is it...?! [63]

Because they hate Kopacz for being a very able politician who won't do what they want.

Not only for that.

It seems 10 years ago she lied to media and people about procedures in Moscow. She assured that putting bodies/remains into all coffins had been supervised by Polish physicians and her personally too.

Today she is withdrawing from all her previous statements. Misunderstood, as she says. Media suggest she is laughable.

I don`t like her.

History / Polish Royal Bastards [23]

I recall bastards by Napoleon Bonaparte and Russian tsars.

Gustave Ehrenberg was born illegitimately on 14 February 1818 at Warsaw, Poland. He was the son of Aleksandr I Pavlovich Romanov, Tsar of Russia and Veronica Dzierzanowska.

He was a Polish patriot who spent many years in tsarist Russian prisons. He composed one of the best revolutionary poems ever:

In another thread you also mentioned Casimir the Great`s illegitimate offspring. He was a very amorous king.

I married a "good Polish Catholic", yet I was the victim of adultery.

Even good Polish Catholic partners have limitations. :):):)

I'm the non-believer

In taht case, she thought it wouldn`t hurt you as you are a representative of the rotten West. Adultery is common there and nobody makes a big fuss about it. Come on.

News / Rest in Peace Anna Walentynowicz or is it...?! [63]

Could it perhaps be because one body which is pulled from a plane that hit the ground upside down at 200kph looks very much like another?

Don`t forget about modern science. It can make wonders. :):):)

Happens a heck of a lot more often than you'd like to think about according to a mate in the undertaking business :(

ooops.... but quite probable...

Strange, I read that the bodies were transfered from the origional Russian coffins into fancier Polish coffins,in Poland, seems from that its a Polish SNAFU not a Russian one.

Sorry, you are mistaken. Coffins were transported from Russia and there was an official ban on opening them in Poland. Only President coffin was open for further tests.

Life / General questions for those who have chosen to make Poland their home [32]

Why did you choose Poland as opposed to another country?

I was born on a Polish ferry while it was still within the Finnish territorial waters. But I chose to live in Poland because it is much warmer than Finnland.

Do you think you will stay in Poland, or do you regret your decision to move there?

I don`t know. I am thinking of going back to the country of my birth. They say that Finnland`s students are the brightest in Europe and teachers there are provided with all sorts of facilities which make teaching an extremely pleasant process. I would like to try it out.

Work / Finding work in Warsaw / Poland as an English private tutor [63]

Unfortunately, I'm not living there and have been very busy in this first month.

Where more or less are you staying? No need to mention any names, just the population of the place. It might be helpful for other wannabe English teachers.

News / Rest in Peace Anna Walentynowicz or is it...?! [63]

ooops!

The DNA tests confirmed that the bodies of two diseased women, one of them Walentynowicz, were swapped and buried in each other`s graves.

It is really incredible - how could Russians be so messy as to put the bodies in wrong coffins????? Is the traditional paradigm of Russian unpredictabilty and mess true even in 21 century?

The body of Anna Walentynowicz were swapped with the body of another victim of the Smolensk disaster - said the Chief Military Prosecutor's Office . - The circumstances of the conversion are checked - assured in a press conference the spokesman , Col. Zbigniew Rzepa . He added that the decision on exhumations took place so late because of the long delays in the delivery by Russia of documents from the autopsy . Turnip reported that " the prosecutor's office plans to conduct four more exhumations ."

Miltary prosecutors are planning next 4 exhumations.

News / Children licking cream off a Polish priest's legs "inappropriate" says NGO [116]

That's a pathetic defence if there ever was one. For a start, there's a general concept of being responsible - it doesn't matter who planned it, the fact that he allowed it to happen AND participated in it says it all.

Shyt, you are right!

If they fired him on the spot - it would be forgotten about by now.

I doubt it.

But certainly this case can be considered another milestone in Poland`s current history.

We are observing how history is happening in front of our eyes. :):):):)

History / Polish patriotic songs with anticommunist message [21]

How should communists pay for

Grodno?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Grodno_%281939%29

About 300 Polish defenders of the city, including teenage boys, were murdered by the Soviets after the Battle.[2] The victims were both Polish students (20) and soldiers (30) as well as an unknown number of civilians.[2] Poles were judged by the Soviet justice organs for their participation in the defense of the city and were reproached with the participation in the armed resistance movement against the Red Army and sentenced.[2]

From early 1980s, about a communist massacre of miners:

Tanks are rolling against Wujek coal mine:

Travel / Traveling around Poland - our photo stories with very personal commentary [225]

When your kids grow up, Pawian, they will love you for what you have shown them.

I have been wondering about it. We visit a lot of museums and galleries and most of them, being traditionally serious, are boring to my kids. I wonder if they might acquire a similar syndrome which I got as a child - today I don`t go to the theatre because our parents used to take us out to extremely deep and serious plays. I hated that and the solemn suit I had to wear. My psyche got warped and I am not ashamed to admit it - I hate theatre because all those dreadful recollections come to my mind when I have to go with school. .

Not so many of us visit PL as much as you do.

Come on, it is not my merit, if not kids, I would rather stay at home, hanging around forums all day long. :):):) But I have to give them the same opportunities that I received as a kid - my mother was a teacher and we always went on long holidays. A month at the seaside was sth normal.

And I think I may change my ways now :).

Poland has got a lot of fascinating places.

And if they aren`t after a close look, it isn`t a problem because you can pack up within minutes and leave for another.
