USA, Canada / Emigrate from the USA - the sequence of events [207]

I'm telling you that I have lived here all my life and if the economy was as bad as you were saying the snobs would have taken a major hit as well. The average person in this country has always had a hard time;this is nothing new.The streets were never paved in gold and never will be here.It is a little tougher, but nothing like you're saying.

I forgot to mention;you take a look at the average car on the street in any major city and you won't see many cars that are more than 5 yrs.old.In Boston you see new luxury cars all the time.

USA, Canada / Emigrate from the USA - the sequence of events [207]

People have always discussed prices this is nothing new.You have all these Iphones everywhere you look as well as Ipads everywhere you look.Whenever the new products come out people line up in droves to buy them. When I'm talking about stores I mean high end stores and they are packed. There was a difference at first and this is because the media hyped everything and people were afraid to buy.I'm not saying that there hasn't been a recession, but it's not as bleak as you make it sound,It's not because my eyes are closed,it's because I pay attention.

USA, Canada / Emigrate from the USA - the sequence of events [207]

I've lived in several parts of the country and this has always been the case.Like I said the picture that you paint is simply not true.I have lived in the U.S. all my life and there has always been ghettos, homeless and poverty and this is nothing new.So unless you've lived here all your life;you have nothing to compare it to.The homeless were always treated like dirt.

I have always seen homeless,I live in Boston and there are new construction sites every day and the stores are always packed. My point is that we are in a recession, but the picture you paint is that we are in dire straights and this is simply not true.

USA, Canada / Emigrate from the USA - the sequence of events [207]

ShortHaiThug, there's a difference between missing a meal and starving. We've had Homeless before the recession and there will be after it as well.We are far from being a third world country and I think you full well know this. We've always had poverty and always will. I'll let you in on a little secret;if the United States goes bankrupt it will have dire consequences on the World economy.Look what just happened whem Wall street hit the wall a while back. This is fact.

ShortHairThug, are you sure you're not making this stuff up about droves of people starving in this country?I'm curios as to why you would say this.Interesting......

USA, Canada / Do many Polish people in America hate Americans? [592]

ilmc, thank you for the clarification, unfortunately when it is written and you can't talk to someone face to face it can be difficult to discern what someone means.I think that if I had to pick up stakes and move to Canada,I don't think it would be a culture shock and I feel that adjustment would be easy.It definitely wouldn't be like moving to Europe imo.You should love your country and there is nothing wrong with that.Even if the Bruins are the better team:)lol kidding. As much as I hate to acknowledge it;Montreal has the best historical record in the NHL.The Habs are my second team.

ilmc, and again;you mentioned confusion and that is where it comes from.I'm not suggesting that you hate all American. There you go saying most Americans.Have you met most Americans. If I came on here saying Most Canadians this or that. The reaction would be the same.I myself am not blinded to anything and am well aware that our government has it's flaws.I don't think that our Country is the best country in the world; It's the country I want to live in.
