USA, Canada / Going back to the Old Country of Poland after more than 25 years! (from USA) [249]

supposedly, it's the best aquapark in Poland :)

holly focking crap. You gotta pay $11 per hour for a swimming pool in Poland? That's 88 dollars if you wanna stay all day!!!.

parkwodny.wroc.pl/en/recreational-pools

Girl, i pay $50 a month for a membership to a similar complex with unlimited use of 2 olympic size pools, gym, tennis court, sauna, locker room, weight-room and kickboxing 3 times a week. How do you afford this sh1t with a 5k PLN salaries a month? A ticket to Disneyland costs less than $70 a day .

You people are nutz.

Life / How Safe Are the Polish Cities? [179]

Crime in Poland is lower than in many countries of Western Europe.

Except you guys have no laws for the most of the bad stuff that is considered a crime anywhere else in the civilized world so of course your stats are lower. For example, you can own drugs in Poland, hate crimes are ignored by the authorities, so is bribery of the Police and the government officials, exploitation of workers, children's rights, women's rights, theft, vandalism etc. etc. Poland is just like El Salvador except you speak Polish and not Spanish.

I came to Poland for the first time when I was 21 in 1978. I left in 1985. I returning this September after all these years. Please help me imagine the changes I will experience upon my return.

Nothing really changed much. People have the same mentality but they seem to have access to more stuff. Good'ol Poland.

then you could just use the little box titled "search" in the top right hand corner....

Supposedly things change really fast in Poland so I’m wondering if stuff from 2 years ago is still relevant.

In UK some people leave their cars unlocked because

Interesting.

Fock PGTX, why don't you merge the whole ******* forum in one big ass thread.

I consider this to be an important part in my assessment of how safe others would feel in Poland.

Please read my entire post before you answer next time.

Life / How Safe Are the Polish Cities? [179]

Hey guys, I’m just interested what you all think, that's all. I'm not judging. People say Poland has the safest neighborhoods in Europe.

Is it crime to be racist in Poland? Would you be able to put this in some kind of context like what is the acceptable level of racism and what is not?

I consider this to be an important part in my assessment of how safe others would feel in Poland.

decide on one subject, please.

Merged thread:
No one is going to steal from you in Poland, leave your doors open!

I have noticed Poland's low crime rates. Some people even say that they can leave their cars parked with keys in ignition. Is Poland really that Safe? Please discuss.

go ahead and leave your door to your apartment unlocked and opened and go to work, tell me what happened tomorrow. Do the same with your car..

it's funny, but where I lived growing up, i never even took the keys out of the ignition. i have family that not only still does that but leaves their front door unlocked all the time.

it all comes down to specifically where you live.

so is here, where I live too.

Where are the safest places to live in Poland?

Po polsku / Oda do Marysi [54]

Marysiu,

Law / T-Mobile replaces Era [21]

I know how I can show off with it (when it arrives): I'll turn the vibrate function, you stick it up your SIM card in and then shove the phone up your arse and I'll call you. You know how much you'll like that, eh sailor? Although I'll then have to get my girlfriend a different birthday present.

That's gay. You have a dirty mind boy.

Why is this upsetting you so much? Do you or don't you like to show off with your girlfriend’s cell phone?

not really. just about everyone has one.

I know, i'm just messing with harry. Sorry.

Law / T-Mobile replaces Era [21]

You're dreaming boy. But you're not alone, a lot of people would try to show off with stupid crap like a cell phone, especially in Poland.

You're so silly kid. lol

but with T-Mobile, I'm satisfied

I agree.

Law / T-Mobile replaces Era [21]

What a silly question! I just bought a Motorola Defy an hour ago (for my girlfriend's birthday, she destroys phones at a frightening rate) and I certainly didn't have to get internet for it too.

Dude, are you showing off? With a cell phone? LMAO

weird, T-Mobil will be mergin with AT&T in the US...

i heard that too. AT&T sucks though

Life / Im a Black American Moving to Poland. Worried about adaptation. [47]

Hi Im a Black American moving to Poland with my Husband who was born and raised there. We have been married for 6 years and my husband has no family members in the States. He's been living in the States for 10 years and the only reason he stayed was me.

I'll give you my honest opinion.

- Poland is not a multicultural country so you're going to stick out, also, Polish people are very self conscious about appearances. Anything different from the ordinary draws extremely a lot of attention.

- Regardless of what you see here, only a tiny percentage of Polish speaks English. Learning Polish is really a must.
-Make sure you have a plan in case you need to come back to the US.
-Polish culture and life in general is significantly different from American, I think you will find a lot of things there shocking.

Travel / NOT COMING TO KRAKOW- KEEP IT! [30]

Living in Krakow can be much worst than all the post you've read so far... Prague is sooo much nicer than Krakow, but so is Vienna.

Fro some reason Prague and Vienna have a similar "look and feel" in my mind, I’m not sure why... well, I like them both really. People are 1000 times nicer too, like you said. Maybe next year i'll go there again.

News / Don't let Poland become like my country, France. [630]

We are preaching that for awhile now...

Now the tensions are boiling...still undercover of a successful, prospering country where most people are comparable well off nonetheless...Imagine should the fates change

The underlining truth is that the US is a "free for all" and no one has any delusions about what would happen when "the lights go out".

You can't have your cake and eat it too, but you people seem to think that.

Well...our's live on quite well even without the lingua or work or graduating school....

Maybe that's your problem, see, you gotta compete here with others, the language, school, some kind of skills, knowing the laws well, are a must to know if you wanna live well and prosper here in the US as an individual.

[quote=Bratwurst Boy]your identity is an artificial one, rallying around your flag and an oath of your constitution

No one makes you do it here. It was my choice. I've know a people who lived here for 25 + years and never got their citizenship. No one gives a crap.

your identity is an artificial one, rallying around your flag and an oath of your constitution

Our identity? You can be whoever you want to be. The Constitution is just a bunch of laws that seem to work out for the most part. I like American flag and i don't mind wave it around. It makes me feel good.

But when they decide to live in MY country they should live after MY rules and customs...no extras or accommodations...they don't like it? There is the door ----->

We say, If you decide to live in our country, you should follow the rules learn the language and work hard, no extras or accommodations, If you don't like it, here is the door. --->

News / Don't let Poland become like my country, France. [630]

She forgot to pay some taxes some years ago and police found out after they got her in the street for identification. She told me greek prison is horrible. She stayed there or one week with some georgian and bulgarian women and a junkie.

This story doesn't stick much, why didn't she get a lawyer to help her work out some kind of deal with the court to pay it back? Also, if she is poor how much taxes could she really owe? The strangest thing I've ever heard.

In Germany we tried that for 40 years....in France the blacks and muslims still prefer their own...where do you think the tensions come from. Because all happily integrated and assimilated?

No one is expecting people here to assimilate, so i guess that's why what you're saying seems strange to me. For the most part everyone does whatever the fock they want and no one gives a ****. There is no pressure for being different.
