cant speak for others but i am as happy to pay my polish builder in the uk less [and for a better job] than i would pay a local brit as i am to buy polish property for substantially less than i would pay here in the uk

and equally, i am just as happy to tell a brit who feels he is having his livelyhood taken from him by a pole that hes a twat and should have stayed at school a little longer as i am to tell somebody who thinks that the inflated property prices in poland are due to overseas investors that they are talking out of their arse

How about these for some figures?

these figures are worthless until the percentages are related to another figure... as you no doubt well know...

and could you cite your source

Foreign property investors are pushing up property values in Poland, and making a killing in the process. At the same time, Polish nationals are being priced out of buying a home by purchasers from abroad.

hmmm... thats obviously one way of looking at it

a more accurate view is that poles, desperate to make as much money as they possibly can, are pricing their fellow poles out of the market

this is obviously an uncomfortable fact for people do deal with... its much easier to blame foreigners than to take responibility themselves

try not to quote out of context please puzzler

i agree with you too frank - there are many positives to immigrants in our country and as someone who has travelled, worked and lived abroad for most of my adult life i am the last person who would want to prevent others from having this life changing opportunity

but we are a small island country with limited resources and continued mass immigration is something we face, have to come to terms with and confront full-on before the positives become overwhelmingly outweighed by the negatives - and i believe this will come about sooner rather than later and choosing to ignore this will only lead to bigger problems later on

I think the Polish immigrant group will be pro-active in asserting themselves in difficult situations, they have pride

thats not my concern and whilst the polish immigration phenomina has no doubt impacted heavily on the country in the last couple of years they are just part of england's increasing immigrant population

my concern is the impact that continued mass immigration is going to have on the country - and i think, as a country, we are starting to feel this impact already - we need to be aware of this and act accordingly... not only for the sake of britain and the british but also the immigrants who have come here to make this country their home...

thats becasue you are too lazy

dont confuse lazyness with careful planning and calculated risks

if you want to get up and go and work for someone everymorning this is entirely upto you

i decided fairly early on in life that this was a mugs game

and now i live a life where i dont have to get up early if i dont want to

clown

And I still believe that some of this venom will be expressed in violence as time time goes on.

inevitable

i dont think i need someone to tell me that immigration is becoming a serious issue for the uk - im quite capable of working that out for myself

i also wholeheartedly support the right for citizens of the EU to be able to travel and work freely in any part of the EU

but i am concious enough to realise that just because the right exists to do something it doesnt mean there are no negative outcomes

i wouldnt dream of speaking for the whole country but it does seem that the immigration issue is spiraling out of control - i am broadly in favour of immigration but at some point its going to cause problems that we, as a country, are going to have to confront... and this point appears to be approaching fast

Work / Advice on Teaching English in Poland [709]

you dont need a teaching qualification to get a teaching job in poland

there are many schools, normally in smaller cities, who jump at the chance to have a native speaker on the staff

the celta or tcl cert is normally needed for a job at a more 'professional' or 'reputable' school

teaching english is a mugs game
