History / Lithuanians hate Poles? [156]

Maybe you should go out for a bit, talk with people, see that there is world around you, not only propaganda you believe so much. Or maybe you just need a girlfriend... xDD

nah, he is just a miserable sod, who doesn't even live in Poland and the only way not to lose connection is to read the Polish press - this is where he gets his views.

Watch, he is going to call me names after this post:)

USA, Canada / Moved back from Canada to Poland:). Here are the reasons why. [868]

Sure you do.

no, I don't. I am not a mod. Polmed and southern were spamming, as they always do. They disregard anything and everything as long as they get to say what they want to say. They are not able to carry on a healthy conversation.

how would you compare people from Toronto to Polish people?

nice, trying to steer it back on topic;). No comparison. Toronto's population is over 50% multicultural. That should give you an idea. Whoever is familiar with multicultural society and the cities would understand.

I would urge the OP to steer it back to the topic as it is not going to be left here to encourage members to insult each other.

I have a limited power to do this. However, if you want to put this in a bin, give me some notice, so I can copy it to my files. Thank you:)

In Canada we have learned to deal with the cold- dress for it and you can still have fun. In Poland people hide from it.

there must be a skating indoor rink in wawa pip, I even found one in Szczecin yesterday. They even sharpened my skates. If it wasn't for the overbearing parents dragging their children on the ice- instead of letting them have some fun, I would be much happier. There were hot dogs, hot chocolate and coffee.

I was simply commenting on the Polish weather. Not on the factors for moving back.
true, the Canadian winters are harsh most of the time, yet the Canadian people in general are way much nicer then Poles, or at least are polite and not invasive. You are just so provocative most of the time, annoying and full of denial. You seem to be right and everyone else is wrong. Strange and doesn't create room for healthy discussion.

Back to the Polish weather: it sucks most of the time even though it is mild in comparison to Canadian one.

oh nice, my first English teaching job was in Evia (poor Greek kids), have a great time.

really? How is the Island? interesting?

How will you recognise Southern?
Will he be surrounded by a herd of giggling Polki?

I will, that is all you have to know;)

PS>I am a moody poster, so if I did not reply to some, please wait until I am in a mood.

as for the undersexed Berlin tour guide- he is gonna get it.

PSS. it is Ukrainian x-mas today, so I am off. Next week there is the Ukrainian New Years Eve and the big dance, so I will be attending and reporting the outcome - hold your breath.

You hope.

Try Dodoni feta although non commercial one is the best.

will do:)

I will be travelling a bit around the mainland and then spent some time in Evia, a big island I presume.

but I'm nice on FB :)

well, I am the other way around; a real hell to deal on FB lol

i have noticed the days are getting longer. just a few weeks ago it was dark when i closed my shop at 4 pm, now it is still light out. i really enjoy the long daylight hours in the summer- particularly on the baltic.

aha, Baltic coast is nice, but I will be spending my summer on the Greek coast this year - feta cheese i must say;).
I am hoping not to bump onto southern though;(

Po polsku / Jaki seriale polecacie dla dorosłych? [30]

Znajoma jest pracownikiem socjalnym, to się nasłuchałam. Sama chcę kupić mieszkanie w takiej na poły niepewnej dzielnicy (właśnie tam gdzie ona pracuje). No, to mam czas na przemyślenie sprawy.

@wredotka:
a propos Kiepskich. Oczywiscie, ze sa okopni, ale sa przeprawdziwi, chociaz przerysowani do granic mozliwosci- kiedys tez mnie bardzo irytowali, ale teraz uwazam, ze dialogi sa rewelacyjnie napisane.

Even in Canada where the wind chill can reach -45 C it is easier to deal with because the daylight hours are longer there in the winter than in Poland. The sun will still be shining at -20 C. In Poland at around November it gets really grey and dark and dreary and the sun doesn't shine til March.

true, but the day is getting longer here:)
can't be arsed to answer to other comments about the weather in Poland. Pip knows what I am talking about:)

USA, Canada / Moved back from Canada to Poland:). Here are the reasons why. [868]

Polish winter sucks by any means.

If there is snow- it sucks, if there is no snow is sucks too. It is dark when I leave for work and dark when I come home.

Polish tour guide.
When will I ever learn that it is better to travel on my own? I learnt it again that a day trip to Berlin or anywhere for that matter is way less stressful without some undersexed, frustrated, homophobic, anti German tour guide.

All happy and hopeful when boarding a tour bus a scanned the face of the tour guide. He looked to say the least unhappy. I didn't have to wait long for his happiness to ruin my day trip to Berlin. At 7 am ( when I was still half asleep) he started to bombard the group with the anti German propaganda. My travel company has never heard me swear so much. By the time we reached Berlin we already moved to the back of the bus due to the group attempt to hush up up. The tour guide was similar to Polonius 3 with his views, although I can always stop reading PF if I don't like it. I could not leave the bus in Berlin. Other passengers tried to cope by drinking (on a day trip) or making out at the back of the bus. To make the story short- we left the bus in a hurry and went to the Museum in order to recover hope in human civilization - it was successful, well, until we went back to the bus, where the tour guide continued his lecture about how bad Germans really are.

Well, we are getting our money back for this trip.

x-mas was a typical Polish x-mas : too much food, too much rest and bad TV programs. The highlight was the action of unplugging my father's state of the art vacuum cleaner, during which I found some needles from the x-mas tree from last year.

until later:)

Food / Coffee in Poland: cheap and undrinkable / expensive and good [89]

In Warsaw, Green Coffee (a local company) is expanding and is a class apart.

in Warsaw, but not here. I have no alternative. There is a coffee place with good coffee, but the stuff is in a bad mood all the time - no thanks- it is just coffee;)

News / Polish Domination by Germany [69]

versteht sich von selbst. didnt expect other outcome...consider yourself germanized/merkelized. ;)
was war so besonders in berlin? small test german. :)

I would rather be Germanized then PiS- onized- trust me. We already have a German family member married to one of my relatives, so I am taking German, because he is learning Polish -although we can speak English.

What was I doing in Berlin? Went to X-mas market, because there are none where I live.

cannot be better. Just returned from Berlin and I love it. I am starting taking German again this week:)

Travel / Differences between trains in Poland? [15]

Tickets purchased at Warsaw Centralna have also been consistent with online rates. Any ideas?

PKP is is a lot of trouble at the moment , so this is prob the least of their worries, although it would be nice to have the web updated.
