News / Poland is the source of horsemeat in burgers? [169]

First of all - how do they know that those burgers were made in Poland.

Of course they weren`t. Fraud Irish company stuffed their burgers with cheap horse meat and Poland was unlucky to be a provider of it.

Besides, if their suppliers in Poland lie and cheat about something as basic as what animal it is, what else are they lying and cheating about?

Jon, before accusing and convicting Poles of cheating with meat, why don`t you do certain research? ABP food company which added horse meat to beef burgers has bought and been running a few meat plants in Poland.

How simple, isn`t it? The Irish meat producer in Poland supplied their Irish mates in Ireland with all kinds of meat they needed. :):):):):):)

ABP Poland is conveniently located only 35 km west of the city of Poznan. It currently has the capacity to slaughter and debone 60,000 head of cattle per annum. ABP Beef acquired the facility in April 2011 and since then we have made a large capital investment to both upgrade the facility and increase throughput.

"ABP Poland is providing a solid, stable and professional approach to Polish beef production."
At ABP Poland our primary mission is to establish a network of trusted supply partners who will benefit from our professional approach to beef production.

ABP has a long a proud tradition of working with farmers to create beef which is tailored to European retail, manufacturing and wholesale markets. All ABP Beef livestock are sourced directly from our partner farms. We've led the way in farm assurance procedures and embrace the EN45011. - a standard which ensures independent verification of animal welfare, food safety and environmental requirements.

Second of all - what is wrong with the horse-meat?It is very healthy after all! :)

Yes, but they also discovered the addition of pig meat and that is unacceptable to Muslims, Hindu etc. I am not sure about horse meat.

UK, Ireland / How might Britain`s withdrawal from EU affect Poles there and here? [474]

Pawian, do not worry.

Well, as a matter of fact, I worry that the UK won`t leave the EU. The drainage of Polish workforce that Britain has perpetrated since 2006 is really scandalous. I hope Britain leaves the EU and Poles will have to stay in their country to develop it further, instead of going to and developing Britain. And Polish women wil bear kids in Poland, not Britain.

Seriously, Poles are safe in the UK and I'm quite safe here. Nothing's going to happen... :D

Good!!

UK, Ireland / How might Britain`s withdrawal from EU affect Poles there and here? [474]

Oh, I see. That is indeed unfair. But Germany and France are considered heavy weight players in EU. What about Britain? Do you think your country isn`t enough heavy to balance those two? If yea, why is it so?

PS. I know similar unfair fiscal regulations in Poland too - major cities like Warsaw and Krakow pay special tax for underdeveloped areas. It is called Robin Hood taxation here. :):):)

UK, Ireland / How might Britain`s withdrawal from EU affect Poles there and here? [474]

One of the reasons for the referendum is the problem of immigrants who deprive native Brits of their jobs, as many in Britain believe!!!

E.g., here is another perfect example from one of our posters:
If one of you comes here and takes my job, by rights I should slay you but that would mean a life time of imprisonment for me. All i can do is let you know how angry the people of Great Britain are hence the reason we all want out of the EU. It will come.

Btw, oxon, are you going to vote Cameron or will you prefer to trust these neo fascists, I forgot their name, something with B ?

Life / Polish vs British vs American - Clash of cultures [390]

Anglo-Saxons and their descendants in various countries celebrate birthdays.

But Poles celebrate both birthdays and namedays.

Birthdays in Poland are celebrated from 1 till 18.

Afterwards, Poles prefer to celebrate namedays. ]

Funny.

Travel / Traveling around Poland - our photo stories with very personal commentary [225]

Shyt, I didn`t think about it! :(:(:(:(

Pam, when in Gdańsk, did you visit the Red Army Cemetery? It is important history for Gdańsk. Soviet soldiers liberated the heavily damaged city (air raids, siege) but then went on a burning and looting spree which lasted for 3 days and resulted in nearly perfect destruction of Gdańsk.

https://polishforums.com/history/restoration-cities-destruction-32836/

But those who died liberating Gdańsk should get our respect.

Real Estate / The current property boom in Poland is a bubble [342]

Pawian, I live in an osiedle that is in an area of Warsaw that has a limit of new construction. We also have a new road, new bike path, new greenery and are always the first to have our lawns mowed and snow plowed. We did our homework and figured out which place would be ideal to buy in Warsaw.

Oops. I am sorry. I am changing the picture of the osiedle/housing estate then:

News / Man taken to court for abusing Poland's president [35]

Terrible Stalinist regime!

Let me refresh your little selective stalinist memory a little:

Two guys were taken to court for offending PiS President, Lech Kaczyński:

This guy was fined:

Do not be insulted with impunity of Poland's President Lech Kaczynski. So Radom ruled the court, which sentenced a journalist for calling him " an idiot " and " jerk "

As spokesperson of the District Court in Radom Justyna Mazur , the court found that Edward S. , using their publications in 2009 . Lech Kaczynski at the terms " idiot " and " jerk " , insulted the Polish president .

Wording used in those issued by themselves ( without the legally required registration) writing " RULE " .

This one was acquitted.

History / What do Poles owe to Russians? [193]

Thanks, but why are you mentioning it at all? Galicia-Volhynia Principality didn`t belong to Russia in 14 century, and this thread is about Poles and Russians! ????

History / What do Poles owe to Russians? [193]

They caused Times of Troubles.

This is all true.

In 14-th century they invaded Wolynea-Galicea Rus and conquered it. They destroyed many orthodox churches.

I know little about it. Are you sure you are talking about Poles and not Lithuanians???

Love / Polish men :( demand forgiveness [35]

But be aware of long-distance or internet relationships with Polish men .. for them it is just an adventure or useful time waste, while playing Starcraft 2.

Yes! We are awful! I remember dropping my girlfriend after having sex with her. Lying in bed after hot love, she asked me when we should start planning marriage. I replied: never! and added I would like to end that relationship. She couldn`t believe it!!! :):):):):):):):) How can you be so fekking deprived of empathy to break up with me after making love to me??? You bastard!!!

Can you believe it?? :):):):)

Polish men rarely apologize and most of the time blame their wife.

Yes, I have always blamed all of my wives. They weren`t worthy of having such a hubby as me.

This page is certainly filled with alot of interesting media besides text

Sorry, Des, I don`t have any problems with loading, my connection is sth like 30 Mb (or Gb, I don`t know) per second and I know it is low compared to Western standards, so if yours is even lower, you need to upgrade it. I am really sorry but I can`t help you because that is my style - one word and thousand photos. The day I can`t have my style, I will leave.

UK, Ireland / How might Britain`s withdrawal from EU affect Poles there and here? [474]

600.00 Poles wouldn`t rise the unemployment to 30%. Only 20%

But it won`t be so bad:
From the link above:

What would the UK's leaving the EU mean for UK immigration?
Should the Conservatives win the next General Election and hold the referendum, the effect on UK immigration is likely to be incredibly affecting - particularly for those wanting to move to the UK from within the EU - but also for those already here.

Changes to the status of EU citizens who have used the Freedom of Movement directive to live and work in the UK would almost certainly lead to a surge in UK visa applications for those wanting to remain. With so many EU citizens already in the UK, this could result in an over burdening of the Home Office and potentially even lead to panic among those faced with being forced to leave the UK.

However, Marissa Murdock, casework manager at the UK Visa Bureau, says the timescales mentioned and the magnitude of the change would mean that any real effect would take several years to be felt.

[i]"The decision to leave the EU would necessitate a large number of transitional measures being put in place to UK immigration policy and such large changes rarely take fewer than a matter of years," said Ms Murdock.

"A raft of new rules combined with the political uncertainty of such a change would mean most current UK residents would have sufficient time to apply for residency or Indefinite Leave to Remain [ILR] before any changes could take effect.

UK, Ireland / How might Britain`s withdrawal from EU affect Poles there and here? [474]

and the Poles would probably have to go home.

But that`s the point! One of the reasons for the referendum is the problem of immigrants who deprive native Brits of their jobs, as many in Britain believe!!!

E.g.,

If Britain leaves many Poles will return home which is also good.

Due to political correctness it wasn`t mentioned in the CNN article I gave a link to above , but eveybody knows it.

Here is a better one:
blog.visabureau.com/post/eu-referendum-and-uk-immigration.aspx
Despite promising the referendum, Mr Cameron said he would first attempt to renegotiate a unilateral agreement with the EU to change the UK's relationship with the single market and secure more autonomy over such policies as immigration.
