USA, Canada / Do Poles feel America is going down the drain? [149]

So, you're just assuming they're old…

i've met many, and they were...let's say in their 60s...

You don't believe that some retired police officer at 65 could do the job?

protecting all the houses in the gated neighborhood? well, lets just say that he wouldn't be efficient... and, sorry, but no young men wants this job anyway...

and don't tell me he walks around (or drives) your block to check if all is alright... they sit in their little booth, eat sandwiches with hot tea and watch tv... but you don't know it because you're at work... :)

I really liked the 'feel' of Austin. I'm sure you know what I mean. :)

Austin is a great city... many students... full of life place...
Houston isn't that interesting, sorry Havok...

That's very good price, you pay more than double in Warsaw for that.

The US is cheap now...specially Texas... Europeans travel here to do some shopping... we appreciate it very much... ;)

A gated community?? Like ,protected by armed guards??

it's a place with the same looking houses, horney housewives, always busy husbands, arrogant kids, pretty filthy inside but clean outside place...

Love / Demands from Polish ex! [75]

Maybe at age 28 I am somewhat naive, but I can't believe that she, a sweet Polish girl, would be so dishonest like that.

don't ask us to psychoanalyze the two of you and any advices about her and your relationship... we can be harsh, unpleasantly honest, and we can't stand whiners...

Love / Demands from Polish ex! [75]

So you believe she is either being dishonest or just plain vindictive?

just tell her that you will be more then happy to help and pay 1/2 but first you wish to see the bills...
That's how it works :)

Life / Experience with local charities in Poland? [7]

i used to work as a social worker in Krakow and i was familiar with charities there...
I'd say that the place which needed most money was a local center for abused mothers with children...
i think, you should go to the local MOPS and they will give all the info you need and the list of charities...

Why don't you negotiate the terms of employment, such as health insurance, travel and moving expenses and initial cost of living?

News / Kaczynski to be buried at Wawel ?! [289]

I thought Marta Kaczynska showed great courage and dignity throughout, even though there must have been a lot of pain inside her.

i thought the same...
