am just looking for ballpark estimate to fit out shell propertyafter getting keys from developer from 1,500 zl per m2 to 2,500 zl per m2

I am sorry but I am not sure what those technical terms you use mean. I don`t have time to translate, so I think it will be better to let others help you.

Language / Getting the wrong ending of a word - do Polish still understand? [25]

"The perfect is the enemy of the good enough" is the actual quote, paw.

Maybe in English. I quoted the Polish saying, I said it clearly.. :) I think it is closer to life.

Anyhow, am about to order "Fleksja Polska" by Jan Tokarski. You never stop learning!

Are you talking to me? You talking to me? F...k!

Life / Why do Silesians call people from Warsaw "Gorole"? [15]

The word gorol has nothing to do with the word goral which refers to highlanders up in the mountains.

I always though it does. Gorole was derived from górale (Highlanders) who came to Silesia from Lesser Poland regions.

Love / Do most Polish women just want a friend or a bf? [13]

Most polish women want a husband.

Yes, I was going to say the same thing. That is why there is an overrepresentation of females in big Polish cities - the ratio in Krakow is 117 -100. They come to find a good husband who will share life duties, be a responsible father for kids, won`t drink too much and abuse his wife.

Food / Home made fruit vodka from Poland [10]

they made fruit vodka. It was called nalefki.

I once made a nalewka but seeing how much spirit/vodka is needed, I gave up. It is much cheaper and healthier to make your own fruit wine.

Life / Is it hard for a foreigner to give birth in Poland? [15]

Would you rather have your baby born in Poland than in the US?

If i were you, I would take turns on them. Namely: the first baby born in the USA, the second in Poland and so on. Why? The reason is simple: we should always strive to achieve balance in life, like in nature.

Work / Argentinian wants to study in Poland. What's the best place? [4]

Hmm, if sb is Argentinian and speaks a variation of Spanish, shouldn`t they look for a place abounding in people who use the language? Just to feel like at home? If I were him/her, I would google for Spanish speaking communities in Poland.

Or am I wrong?

Food / Oils and fats in Polish foods [34]

There is definitely an increased awareness of the dangers of an excess of saturated fats.

Yes, exactly. But there is a long way between increased awareness and putting it into practice. I eat what I like and don`t care about harmful fats like smalec. Fortunately, I also love olive oil and oily sea fish so I can say my diet is balanced when fats are concerned.

People should avoid eating margarine for many various reasons

Yes, just like smoking or drinking. However, one guy smokes all his life and lives to 90, another one dies of cancer at 50. The same with margarine. :)

Language / Getting the wrong ending of a word - do Polish still understand? [25]

Poles will still understand it even better.

It is pretty obvious you don`t know these Polish words of wisdom: Better is the enemy of good. :):)

I learned "W Szczebrzeszynie chrzaszcz brzmi w trzcinie".

Yes, but check out what one pister said:

Yes, but

In our tongue the word order is more loose then in English and you can shift words within a sentence more freely.

News / Are there interests that Poland share with Russia? [50]

If Poland and Russia as kin Slavic powers announce that they both and togather support Ukrainian suveregnity and independance

Russia will never announce such support coz independent Ukraine is a pain in the ass for the Kremlin. However, Ukraine has resisted Russia successfully so far. Good luck.

Language / Getting the wrong ending of a word - do Polish still understand? [25]

Question is: when a non-polish person, speaking polish, gets the wrong ending to a noun, can a polish person still understand it.

Yes, why not? If you say Chrząszcza brzmi w trzcina w Szczebrzeszyna, Poles will still understand it.

Food / Oils and fats in Polish foods [34]

What kind of people use butter or margarine etc and what are recent trends

Just like in 2010, it is still quite impossible to create such statistics coz such preferences can be versatile and depending on purely personal choice. E..g, in my family, my wife and kids use butter for sandwiches, grandparents margarine while I use nothing or smalec (melt lard) with skwarki.

Real Estate / SUROWY DOM IN POLAND - UNFINISHED HOMES FOR SALE - COST TO COMPLETE THE BUILD? [16]

The main difference is between typical and fancy.

E.g, Mito Grey toilet goes for 200 PLN. I have had similar two ones since 2014 in the summer house and they are basic but OK. 10 year warranty.

But, if you want, you can get a fancy black one for 875. Of course, fancier ones are more expensive, even 5000.

So, what do you want?

Real Estate / SUROWY DOM IN POLAND - UNFINISHED HOMES FOR SALE - COST TO COMPLETE THE BUILD? [16]

Its a very nice property so i want to fit to a good standard.

A good standard is ambiguous. Practically everything what you can buy in shops today is of good standard. The main difference is between typical and fancy. Depending on what you expect, the total cost ranges from 20.000 to 50.000 PLN.

Travel / Poland in photo riddles [3134]

I wonder how many wings were used........ I presume the same artist did all 4 pics?

They claim no living butterfly was harmed in the process of artistic creation.

There wasn`t the creator`s name under the pictures. I wonder if they were made by uni students (the Insect Days are held at the Agricultural University).

My riddles are too easy!

No. Easy would mean we guess instantly. But your latest riddles made me think hard.

Food / Need some Polish dessert recipes [47]

You'll just have to try out other recipes.

Not yet. I am going to use the same one but with freshly ground cheese.

It looked like cottage cheese?

Yes, and when I opened the tub there was a little water on top. That could be the reason.

Life / Latest urban art in Łódz - what do you see? [20]

The question is not if but how many. If you hope for hundreds or thousands taking part, you might get disappointed. However, if a dozen are enough to you, why not try. :):)

Recalling your itenerary in Poland, you must have visited the death/concentration camp in Lublin: Majdanek. This is an installation called Shrine to commemorate all Nameless Victims of the camp. Philip`s suggestion was useful.

Travel / Poland in photo riddles [3134]

I am still clueless.......bits of paper, feathers?

Nope. They are butterfly wings and they show those pics each year at the Insect Days in Krakow.

The artist is Tadeusz Makowski. Quite costly today.
