Travel / Is there a good ski resort in Poland? [13]

Janske Lasne Not too big, but it's good fun. You can also try Herlikovice. They have good tree runs, but also pretty small (for me anyway).

Travel / Is there a good ski resort in Poland? [13]

Zakopane has and the only other place in PL that I've been boarding is in hte Czarna Gora and they had a 3 person I believe. Just came back fromk the Czech Republic and they have resorts with quads and Gondolas.

USA, Canada / Where can i find Spirytus Rektyfikowany in the USA? [77]

I pass it around parties and you can figure out who drank

No normal person in Poland will drink this stuff straight up. It's made for diluting and creating Nalewka (Liquor from fruit etc.)or Miodowka. The only people you will see drinking this are the drunkards.

You can probably find it in most loquor stores near a PL neighborhood.

What region would i have the most success in finding these?

In Szczecin. It's great on tap and difficult to find outside of there.

I will be in Szczecin in a couple of weeks I will try it again and I will report back

Yes, please do. I remember that I drank tons of this in a beer garden that runs down the middle of the street...I forgot the name of it.

Love / DO POLISH MEN DATE OLDER WOMEN? [169]

why does it matter to any of you all the age differences

There needs to be some sort of limit. Would you allow your 14 yr old daughter to date a 30 yr old man? Didn't think so.

Travel / Starbucks in Poland? [149]

Has anyone ever tried Kopi Luwak coffee?

They don't serve in Starbucks, but it's interesting stuff.

Starbucks is coffee for the rich , but they do have some tasty whole beans to but. All of those designer drinks are a waste of money IMO

Yes, I've mentioned this beer before. It's definitely up there in the evil category at 9.4%. It's hefty, but I enjoy it :)

UK, Ireland / Poles leave Britain to return to Poland [89]

The Polish boom in emigration to the UK is coming to an end according to figures released by the British Home Office.

Thousands of Poles stormed to the UK as a result of the opening of the British job market in 2004. Today the Polish population in Britain is estimated at between 400,000 to a million, but according to the latest UK Home Office statistics, it is on the decrease as Poles are coming home.

They say they are receiving only half the number of job applications compared with the years 2005 and 2006.

Is Poland doing anything to cause them to return to PL? Wasn't the PL gov't planning to do sth to make home more attractive to the people that left? Is this the result?

Are you near Poznan? If I'm not in Poznan, I'll be snowborading somewhere in southern Pl.

But, it's easy to take the train anywhere :) That's one thing I love about PL .

I don't suppose that it's available somewhere in Poland

It's beer :) It's considered an Imperial IPA

Probably not, but maybe we can work sth out. I can either try to ship it, or bring you some this winter.
