News / The "Arbeit Macht Frei" sign theft from Oswiecim, Poland [240]

martyrs in a sense to Neo Nazis

Why? Why does everyone automatically assume these men are Neo-Nazis or anti-Semites? It is once again, this Jewish mindset of turning this from a crime for profit, into something much more profound, an anti-Semetic act, one which has the entire Jewish community lock arms, once again. Those terrible Poles!

But they surely cant be simple criminals, looking to make money! Right?!
They couldn't have found a contact who was interested in buying, when they were ready to steal. No, that can't be... This is an direct attack against all Jews and Holocaust survivors. It is a despicable neo-Nazi act!

lol, how naiive of all of you to fall for that Israeli garbage...

and had most of the population of Poland looking out for them....Not the brightest people in Poland i suspect...!

Look, you are very naiive, it is almost embarassing... These guys were NOT stupid or impoverished, or drunks...
They had a buyer that would have payed good money for this sign. Some kind of neo Nazi or simply a very wealthy collector who wanted to show off to his friends. Most likely this buyer was located outside of Europe, probably in South America. You'd be surprised how many Nazis escaped to Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, with gold worth millions.

It was cut into 4 pieces for easy transport over such a long distance, not cut for scrap metal. Why such an elaborate theft, with such a long drive if it were just going to be used for scrap metal? They could do better for scrap metal if they were to pull away some railroad tracks.

History / What British unit liberated Poland in 1945?? [445]

General Sikorski back in 1942

I seriously doubt this claim, dirty Harry. Any sources to back it up?
So you are telling me that Sikorski was willing to give up a huge area of Eastern Poland, including several large cities, to the Soviet Union? I wonder Harry, how this would at all be helpful at the time, since many of the men fighting for him were from eastern Poland. Many, for example, from Lwow, were fighting to keep Lwow Polish, first and foremost. You telling me he sold them out? Must have been great for moral! LOL

Love / Insultive opinions about Polish girls... [139]

in my opinion slavic men

More 'boyish' good look, than typical 'crude-squarehead' of Anglo-Saxons. Yes, I agree.
Slavs simply have better genetic makeup... more desirable traits. Mediterrenean-Balkanoid very close 2nd

Life / Beggers namely Kurwa boys in Poland [70]

I'll buy a 100ml bottle of spiritus

Quit the ******** Harry... We all know well that you are a coward. You probably **** in your pants when the poor malnourished bum approached you. You throw the spiritus at them, and run away.

Anyway, the Gypsies in Czestochowa are terrible.. especially near Jasna Góra.. there is a lot of older Gypsy women that hound you in that viscinity, and sometime get physical. Once, she pointed at her young daughter sitting on the bench nearby, as if I could take her to bed with me, if I would just give her some 10 measly zloty.

Oh, and Wroclaw Boy... I'd consider changing my clothes if I were you. From the looks of things, your horrid coloured shirts reflect so much sunlight, that no matter you attract all the local trash.

News / GERMANS WANT TO GERMANIZE KOPERNIK (COPERNICUS)! OUTRAGE! [1016]

now Germany forced Austria???

Thats correct. Without the very aggressive stance shown by the Germans towards the Russians, (change of policy when Kaizer Wilhelm came into power) and their full fledged support for Austria, Austria began to feel an air of cockiness, as showcased in their unrealistic demands to Serbia.

Had Germany pursued a more moderate course of action, and perhaps been more open to peace discussions like the British, Austria would have not had the guts to move into Serbia for fear of Russian retaliation.

But then again, Germany was as eager to show off their new navy as Austria was to invade the Balkans.

News / GERMANS WANT TO GERMANIZE KOPERNIK (COPERNICUS)! OUTRAGE! [1016]

The best pages of this debate are hidden in the first 6 pages or so... later, it just becomes reocurring, over and over again...

BB, I'm surprised you have the discipline to keep repeating the same stuff over again that we had discussed months and months ago ;)

in Mongolia, thinking about being on PF.

Isn't it strange? But I guess once you've been here longer than 2 years, you'll keep coming back for more, eventually.

Of course I left for good too – but it didn’t last long and anyway nobody noticed. It’s moths to the flame I fear.

I think PF has some kind of magnetic force... It's not like anyone really cares about you, but you still feel the need to come back. Why is that?

Oh well, when I'll be in Mongolia and far away from the internet, eating boiled intestine, maybe then :)

Language / Ukrainian language similar to Polish? [236]

Nathan, whats your problem? Southern is just giving his own opinion, on how it sounds for an outsider. Is it really that hard to acknowledge that there are certain similarities between slavic speakers? Or is that simply outside the realm for someone as narrow minded as you?

History / Poles in the Napoleonic era [224]

guy, ran amok in Europe till Great Britain decided to take the cane out of the closet and give him a damn good thrashing my dear boy :D

lol, without Spanish guerrillas, along with the him having to deal with the east, Austria, Russia, Prussia etc.. then your great General Wellington would have had to book the next ship out of Lisbon, and go cower on that silly island of yours until Napoleon finally starved you out.

History / Poles in the Napoleonic era [224]

No he would not, Poland would and Poles had the most mobile army in the world next to Russia, any guerillas would get stomped down especially since it was all familiar terrain.

lol... I'm sorry to say this Sokrates, but you're leaving in a dream world man. Almost a hundred million people, and you think that Poland would be able to administer all the territory? Right... please stop, and rethink what you just said. You give Poles a bad name.

fighted

*Fought ;)

History / Poles in the Napoleonic era [224]

If he'd defeat Russia he'd just invade Spain with a quarter of a milion troops, make Wellington his bitch and end it all.

And Sokrates my friend. You think that Napoleon would be able to hold onto all this newly conquered territory? You think he would not face the same guerrilla problems as in Spain? Can you imagine all the millions of guerrilla's he would be facing internally, if he managed to defeat Russias regular army? Napoleon would have had to been content with western Russia, nothing else. Simply couldn't swallow all that territory.

Yes, unfortunately Poles experienced that in 1612. Most returned as skeletons.

wasnt for Russia you'd be speaking Polish or French today.

Lets not go too far to say that...
Eventually Napoleon would have been defeated, or forced to retreat. The Peninsular Campaign cost Napoleon more than the Russia.
