Life / Talk about good parenting (Polish family leaves their 2yo at a gate's airport) [6]

I couldn't find an english article on the matter.

Anyways real short, its a Polish family in Katowice airport who just leaves their 2 year old at the gate because her passport has expired and then they take of on a 2 week holiday to Greece.

Now once they return Police will investigate if they are capable of taking care of a kid.

I hope the trip was worth it..

Love / Best way to find a Polish husband...ideas? [120]

It really sounds to me like your over thinking this whole serious relationship thing!

You said your 25 or younger, why is it already so necessary for you to find the one?
For many this is a long and hard travel throughout life for many to find this one person, and believe me, many gets abused during that travel men as well as women!

I don't understand all of the standards/limitations you make in the threads, regarding to which men you want to be serious with? Every guy form every country is different, you can't go stereotype German/North Europeans as insensitive based on one or a few bad experiences.

Why limit yourself with these requirement? IMO you never know who you are going to fall in love with, and to be honest I think 70% of people on earth (self calculated :-) got married to someone who was not their type, but instead became their type because they earned it, by showing her respect and honesty and proving that they are good people!

Stop trying so hard, you'll get to exactly where you need to be it's just a matter of time.

Travel / An American In Poland: where should I go, what to see? [9]

Hi Currian,

I see your from Columbus, I myself is Danish but were living in Mansfield OH, for almost 10 years.
Anyways I'm now situated in Krakow so my advice if you wanna experince ''Polish life'' during the day, go to for example Alchemia in the Kazimierz district of Krakow during the day and have a coffee, after that have a small walk in Nowa Huta (old communist neighborhood of Krakow) and then if the wheather allows it go to this lake in the Ruczaj district (unfortuantly I can't remember the name) which is absolutely beautiful surrounded by rocks, not many tourist knows of this place but its amazing, and also small adventure because it's somehow a bit forbidden to enter :-)

My other advice for you is just to stay away from the big places (Restaurants, bars etc) and instead just go explore and enter smaller less touristic bars and cafes, then I'm sure you will experience real Polish life.

Best of luck, and I hope you'll enjoy your stay in this lovely country!

Work / 4-5,000 gross enough to live off for 1 person in Poznan? [13]

Are you looking at about 1,700zl for rent on say a flat that is 1,200 initially so,electricity, water, gas, etc then perhaps then another 1,000 zl on food?

Yes we will probably be looking at around 1700ZL pr. month atleast expect so.
Food pr. month you can do for 30ZL pr. day so yea IMO like 1000ZL pr. month would be good to have for food.

But to be honest if you'll get 3000NET that will leave you left with basically nothing, so consider if its worth it or atleast do all you can to get the 5000 Gross.

Work / 4-5,000 gross enough to live off for 1 person in Poznan? [13]

Hi Russ,

I would say that it could be a bit of a struggle on 4000 brutto which would be like 3000 NET.
You can live on it, but considering that you need a 1 bedroom apt. in the city you will be left with like 1800-2000ZL pr. month for food, clothes, travel etc. It's a bit low IMO, offcourse it depends on your live style and so.

But from my advice you should go for the 5000 Brut. which would leave you with like 36-3700ZL which you will be able to live a quiet okay life for one person.

Work / What is the average accounting/auditing salary in Poland? [42]

I'm 26 years old, i'm italian and i speak english (professional level) and french (basic knowledge).

I work with accounting with some Italians, and they for sure gets less than 6000ZL brutto. Case is this in Krakow, the pay is usually a bit higher in Warsaw.

So 6000ZL brutto should be possible, but only because of your Italian language, so get ready for alooot of collection calls buddy :-)

Life / Teenage Pregnancy in Poland [108]

Abortion should be the last resort, not used as contraception, unless it's in the form of "morning after" pill.

I agree,
But case is I believe its better to get an abortion, then to raise a kid without the resources to do so.

There is always going to be a dr. willing to stand up for women and let them decide what they want to do with their bodies.

Sure there is, if you have the money.. But have many of these young girls has got the money it takes to get dr.willing to break the law..

Life / Teenage Pregnancy in Poland [108]

Well, young girls/boys in Denmark are taught this but believe me we still have loads of young girls who get pregnant..
But since abortion is legal and for free, they just get it taken care off.
