Try to see it my way
Do I have to keep on talking till I can't go on
While you see it your way
Run the risk of knowing that our love may soon be gone
We can work it out
We can work it out

Oh no WE can’t work it out. Not in the slightest. Not a chance of it happening before most of us die. We are about as far as working it out as we can be. There is more chance of Crow’s Greater Slavic republic coming to pass than of us having a sensible grown up discussion on here.(Ed- I think they may have got your drift by now).

This week has seen a spate of vicious personal attacks that exhibited just about every variant of ism known to mankind. I am reminded once again of the best bit of lifestyle advice ever given to me, viz:

"Change the changeable, accept the unchangeable and remove yourself from the unacceptable."

There are a few people on here that fall in the last section of that mantra in my eyes. I want nothing to do with them. They seriously seem like the people that I go out of my way to avoid in real life. One night this week I spent an enlightening hour or so looking at some of the archived posts on PF. It was enlightening to pick a fairly controversial topic and see how the thread developed. Sure there were passionate arguments in there and people did step over the mark but vicious personal attacks were few and far between.

And just to make things even worse it was dismaying to see people turning on the mods for shifting their pet rant around into random. Being a mod is never easy. Being a mod when sections of the membership are hell bent on flaming and laying into other members is damned well impossible. You don’t like the mods? Then why not join them. Either that or start behaving responsibly yourselves.

Oh well that’s my own rant over with for now.

Other stuff happened but I forget what it was all about in the main. Rock and Polson have started two more prediction games. Sterling efforts given the amount of administration they require. Thanks guys.

Becksi had a nice time in PL.

Sledz is sort of back. Its Polonia time again in Chicago. Time for my annual bout of jealousy.

Lots of Brits/Irish looking for jobs in PL. Good luck people.

Yes, we are all different. Different customs, different foods, different mannerisms, different languages, but not so different that we cannot get along with one another. If we will disagree without being disagreeable.” - J. Martin Kohe

Love / ARE POLISH WOMEN CATTY...? [75]

insulting a member

Sorry Wroclaw I didn't mean it to read like that, please delete my response which was supposed to be supportive of a member that I had a lot of time and respect for. It just doesn't read like that.

I have edited the post in question..

One of the dullest gumps on the forum

Ah selective recall I see. It was Daisy that smashed up the Virtual Bar. SHe used to lay into some of the more ludicrous of our membership. Dull never, sensible always. Or are you saying sensible is dull?

holding hands is for school kids

It must be difficult for you to hold hands when your knuckles are scraping on the floor.

Love / Are Polish men dominating, controlling and emotional? [36]

normally what i see from my market shop

To Napoleon we were a nation of shopkeepers. With posters like this loser the uninformed reader might think we are a nation of lunatic shopkeepers.

Love / ARE POLISH WOMEN CATTY...? [75]

I know I can call any of my girlfriends at any time day or night

If I tried that my wife would kill me;)

I'm surprised that Poland beat Russia though. Maybe there aren't enough Russians in the US where this analysis originated from.

Edit OK it didn't come from the US mea culpa.

Love / How to find an English speaking boyfriend in Poland [110]

PS. Guys, it is stated at the very beginning...'a native English speaker':)

Ah Kasha83, soon you will come to realise that you have to speak very, very slowly and be prepared to repeat key messages many times before the majority of us slowly understand. Be patient;)

Australia / Can My Polish girlfriend get a working visa in Australia?? [28]

we both would love to work in Australia! I am unsure if he can get a working visa

Are you talking about a temporary one year visa or a longer term one? If it's the latter then don't assume you will get it easily. If you're talking about the one year student working holiday type working visa then I believe that these are not readily available to Polish citizens but bizarrely they are available to Estonians!.

I just checked the list on southaustralia.com and it still shows no Poland.

So thank you for insightful, interesting responses along with the rude, indifferent ones as well.

PF mirroring life... insight and insults;)

So I`m greatful to him and love him even with his quirks and sexy accent!

Right result then;)

Life / Half-naked barbers in Poland. A Haircut with a difference! [27]

Call me old school but a visit to get my haircut is a chance to indulge in intelligent conversation with my trusty old Italian barber. We can talk football, the best female bottom walking past the window and other matters of great importance. Last thing I would want is a pair of 36DD hooters blocking out the natural light. And where would it stop? Eyebrows trimmed sir, yes please, crack, back and sack sir.... splutters no thanks. There is a place for beautiful semi naked women but not cutting my hair.

Law / Signing a contract from Poland Telecommunication (TP) I didn't understand [20]

it stands for ..total pr1cks..!

Whoa, that's my old client you're talking about. I worked with them for many years, I learned how they work, I understand their motivations, I have seen their top executives leading the transition from state monopoly to a vibrant, thriving international telecoms carrier. So my opinion is of more importance than yours. So listen when I tell you that they are total pricks.

Thank you for a most insightful, however mislead, omnibus

As a journalist I was merely exercising my right to invent a pile of tosh and justify it with a plethora of unsubstantiated 'facts', safe in the knowledge that I cannot be sued as it would mean revealing my 'sources'. To suggest that I have mislead PF memebers is a bare faced challenge to my journalistic integrity and rights. I intend to sue you and retire to St Lucia on the settlement.

What's not cool is being the only eejit on here who doesn't know who you were, are, gonna be;)

You are very talented, Szar.

Watched by empty silhouettes
Who close their eyes, but still can see
No one taught them etiquette
I will show another me

... mind you it took about 4 days to do so.

I love PG (Don't get alarmed, I mean Peter Gabriel)
