You should take it Ahmed. International experience always looks good on a CV (and is very important in Oil and Gas officework - it can open a lot of doors). The money is slightly higher than the average for Lodz.

You can save 1000zl certainly if you live carefully and cook at home quite often. 1300zl is also easily achievable. To give an idea of prices of food if you eat out, a shwarma costs between 10 and 15zl, and a meal at McDonalds with drink is about 16zl (and is halal). There are also cheap Chinese/Vietnamese places where you can get a nice meal for about 15zl - one good place in Lodz is run by Uighurs (Chinese Muslims) and sells halal food only. But try the local food - it's very good.

Don't worry about winter clothes - you will certainly be able to afford some!

It reminds me of the Joyce McKinney 'manacled Mormon' kidnap case (you might not remember that one, I was a schoolkid at the time) that filled the tabloids for a whole summer. In the end, the courts were actually glad she skipped bail back to America dressed as a nun.

Worth googling if you aren't aware of the case - there are some parallels, including the opportunity for newspapers to print risque photos.

This is true - water always finds its lowest level. We don't yet know if Lukasz Paweł Herba knew she was half-Polish when he kidnapped her (or whether she felt that was a big part of her identiy or not - she's only given one interview so far).

There's a suggestion he was obsessed with her beforehand, though again, it's very early to say. The police have seized his and his brother's computers so time will no doubt tell.

His parents, Hieronim, and Lucyna Herba of Szczeciń claimed in the Daily Mail to be in the dark about it, that he was a nice son etc, but of course that's normal enough. Neighbours of theirs did say that he travelled around Europe.

His facebook page (I had a look) shows that he claims to like guns, atheism, beer and cars. Not unusual for a young man.

None at all, though the lady in question has given an interview in today's Times about it. She mentioned, by the way and if that's relevant at all, that she's half Polish.

Quite a bit of info in that article. It mentions that there were accomplices, but also raises the question that Paweł Herba may have been personally obsessed with the model. The article also mentions his brother.
