News / Don't let Poland become like my country, France. [630]

With any luck, they'll end the broken experiment that governs so far away from the citizens that it's hopelessly out of touch.

I don't want the borders between our EU-countries back though...so there has to be a middle way!
"Festung Europa" anybody? We should really support the border countries in securing EU-territory and share the costs.

But the lefties want even more immigration and asylum...

But what if the government doesn't react? Then the door is wide open and invites hate and nationalism...
And then the common reaction is to blame the haters and nationalists and to clamp down on them, but not to fight the reason for that...

Look to Denmark today....Denmark does what most people in Europe would do, saving their borders from unwanted, illegal mass immigration.
What does Brussel? Instead to react to the fears of millions they are thinking how to punish Denmark for their decision.

Especially this green paedophile Cohn-Bendit...

History / Why did Russia attack Poland in WW2? [178]

So hopefully Poland will learn from this and increase its population now. Poland just increasing its population by a few million in the next 5-10 years will be very beneficial to Poland in many ways. If it doesn't, that will only hinder Poland.

Are you planning to go to war? ;)

News / EU tribunal overrules Polish name contest in Lithuania [150]

Can't you see double standards and hypocrisy in such thinking?

Most can't!

I also tried to bring it to their attention that their behaviour against Ukrainians is the exact mirror of what they don't like about German behaviour against Poles.

But most are blind with that eye... :(

The whole thing is full of intolerance from both sides - and really, it's about time that someone such as Germany came along to give them a proper telling off and stop the discrimination from both sides.

We could make a football game...one in Poland, one in Lithuania and who wins in the end get's to say....Germany is the totally objective/unbiased referree!

(How is Lithuanian football actually?)

News / Official language of EU (is not Polish) [119]

aren't all official languages of EU member states also official of EU?

...well...that too...

Yes, but it's a new territory of BRD, not a new member country.

But it was a non-member still the night before...and then it made "puff" and was gone! :)

It will be Spanish, eventually, just like everywhere else ;)

Not in Europe! ;)

This map still has DDR as a separate country LOL

Nope...

Red: Countries where German is more known than French. Blue: Countries where French is more known than German. Darker colours: Native countries. Figure: year of accession.

There is a big fat "90" in the old borders....re-unification and accession overlapped abit.

News / Official language of EU (is not Polish) [119]

Former Chancellor Kohl wanted to make German the EU's official language, but it lost.
There are legitimate arguments for or against, I suppose. English won by default, of course. After all, it IS the international language of (mis-)communication, if not exactly, mutual understanding!!!! LOL

Ummm...these are the official languages of the EU:

Bulgarian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French,German, Greek, Hungarian, Irish, Italian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Maltese, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Slovak, Slovene, Spanish and Swedish

And these are the working languages of the EU:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Languages_of_the_European_Union

While documents for and communication with citizens are in every official EU language as a right, day-to-day work in the European Commission is based around its three working languages: English, French, andGerman.

German is both...(we pay the whole bruhaha so it's only logical).

We don't know how it would have ended, they were stopped by outside forces. But it certainly is one way (German way) to deal with minorities.

Okay...but that has to do with this polish/lithuanian conflict what exactly?

I was only trying to be helpful...manno...:(

The Lithuanians are mad that Poles even though they've lived there (in large numbers) for 200 years want to remain Poles and not assimilate.

They should just expell them...it worked for Poles, no ethnic tensions anymore.

History / Why did Russia attack Poland in WW2? [178]

The whole idea of "Germany was so superior" is propagated by US, France and UK because quite frankly their armies were p*ssies.

So of course they want the world to know how awesome Germany was,

Show 'em! ;)

Not really, any idiot can edit wikipedia

Nun ja...I told you before, why don't you edit wiki with your facts then, if that's so easy?

And we are so superior! Weaponry "Made in Germany" is best now as it was 70 years back...we have a tradition to uphold! ;)

Everyone had them.

Then why "Operation Paperclip" ;)

Stop masturbating about how awesome the German technology was

You are just jealous! I understand that... :)

History / Why did Russia attack Poland in WW2? [178]

this and the rest of the phrase about the Germans states exactly what I have said.

I don't think so...

Between 1936 and 1939, Poland invested heavily in the Central Industrial Region. Preparations for a defensive war with Germany were ongoing for many years, but most plans assumed fighting would not begin before 1942. To raise funds for industrial development, Poland sold much of the modern equipment it produced.

The Polish Army had approximately a million soldiers, but less than ½ of them were mobilized by 1 September....

The Polish Air Force (Lotnictwo Wojskowe) was at a severe disadvantage against the German Luftwaffe, although it was not destroyed on the ground early on, as is commonly believed.

So, the polish army was badly led and badly equipped.
Just a dose of reality!

numbers were the number 1 reason Germany beat Poland.
and number 2 was planes.

If numbers were your main concern Poland should have given in to negotiations with Germany
(whose numbers didn't came out of nowhere) to avoid any war...but Poles of that time liked to talk big as in "in one week in Berlin".

No offense but you are starting to turn out to be an uneducated person.

WHY???

I'm just repeating your opinion! If that looks ridiculous....don't blame me! :)

PS. Enjoy your German pride because you only beat smaller European nations but when it came to giants you lost :)

Problem was we fighted all at the same time...GB/France declared a world war because of you, if they hadn't done that you would speak German by now! (And the other half Russian probably).

Think about that when you whine and moan about GB or France again...

Yeah....sure...you were better than everybody! Suuuure! You kicked mighty ass! ;)

Best soldiers

Best tech
Best pilots
Best fighting spirit

...did I miss something? :)

i agree. in fact imo Poland had the best fighter pilots in WWII.

Really! Do you have any proof or stats for that?
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_World_War_II_flying_aces

They had most technology that was on par with the rest of Europe.

Really!

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technology_during_World_War_II

No mention of Poles.

The quality of their commanders is a lie also. The Lightning war wasnt that smart (assuming you believe in it... its just common sense). The soldiers training was about the same as other European soldiers.

Really!

I'm sure it's some kind of anti-Polish conspiracy.

Or...as the American said to the Soviets after the moon landing: "Our Germans are better than your Germans!"

Germany had exactly the same level of technology everyone else had,

Then how do you explain the "Operation Paperclip"???

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Paperclip

jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/ww2/OperationPaperclip.html

Getting german tech, patents and scientists into the West shouldn't had been necessary if they were all on the same page... ;)

Which means, that those Germanics that decided to stay were ancestors of Poles

:)

these territories are natively Polish.

...I don't think I can follow that logic !

Can we agree on Germolish? ;)

You know...we here in the borderland between Poles, Germans and Czechs are the biggest mishpoke of all!

But somehow our people are not ready to accept that yet....
