UK, Ireland / Time for the Poles from the UK to go home [437]

Back it up.

you've made plenty on here recently, knock yerself out since your such the internet master.

I never filled it in myself

such a great citizen.

Well my ancestors didnt mushroom out of the ground, did they?

if you can trace the line back to five generations in Dublin, then you're English.

Dubs are more likely to call the culchie his landlord.

or Sir or Boss :P

A former Miss World.

yea like it wasn't bought. JAckeen women are either hoop earring wearing skangers or UCD d4 spas.

How is it relevant?

If Ireland should be for the Irish like you said then it's worth pointing out that the city you hold so dear was set up by an invading force. Duh like.

part of the bog are you from

the part with all the turf that I sold to buy all the property in Dublin.

Shouldnt that read " Ireland, Britain,Canada,Australia,New Zealand,USA,Spain,Holland .....(oh,you get the point) for the Irish?

lol

you are wrong, read up on it

phuc

phuc you, you guy

Poland for the Poles.
Ireland for the Irish

I guarantee there's foreign blood in you somewhere, otherwise you're a tinker and i know you're not a tinker coz you can read.....although

phuc

you can't spell for shite.

Very few yellow lads except for in the city centres

Check the last 3 Census figures, you're wrong again.

What are you on about here?

What would we do without PR companies and newspaper, sure the whole country would fall apart.

A culchie no doubt

What did the Dub call the culchie?
Dad.

decent Dub girl

Like who, Glenda whatsherhorseface? Or Rosanna mydaddyusedtobefamous.
Gwan outta dat son.

this great city

A city established by foreign invaders.

Chap go away and read some books, coz you're lookin awful retarded here.

indigenous

you mean the Tuath de Dannan, sure us Fir Bolg killed them off and then the Celts came and killed them off and then the Vikings came and killed them off.....then nothing happened for a while......and then the Normans came and killed them off.........then nothing again for another while.......then the brits came and tried to kill the rest off.......

Ireland hasn't got any of the original indigenous people left.....well other than the tinkers, but sure they're all inbred and ****** up and smelly.

Re: Uk, I don't know much about their history but it's prob similar.
Stop being xenophobe chap, find yourself a nice fit Polish girl and chill out.

Are you the same troll that was here a few months ago? What was his name? Ireland4ever or something lame and SinnFein sounding like that.

Deas bualadh leat, is amadán tusa.

Plus the biggest diaspora in Ireland ain't the Poles, it's the British, followed by the Chinese and then the Poles.
If all the Brits left Ireland we'd have nobody to run our newspapers, govt departments admin, PR companies and I'd fight to the death to keep every single Chinese Takeaway open in Dublin and as for the Poles....well byjaysus buachaill, isn't it only a beautiful sight to see some nice gorgeous women walking the streets of our motherland. A country mile better than the fuckin pig ugly cailini we've produced.

News / Poland a top pot producer? Legalization? [30]

That'd be great, I hope it's legalised and that it's sold in shops where instead of gettin what your dealer gives you you can have a pick of different strands of the 'erb.

Life / Which of the Poland-based chain shops that sells glasses is the best? [5]

thanks, I'll go there, but I might wait a month or two coz at the moment they only have a discount offer for your age.....I'd rather get an extra pair for cheaper/free than go for a discount, because the discount will never amount to the price of a 2nd pair

Which of the chain shops that sells glasses is the best?
At home many places did a 2 for 1 offer...or sunglasses for free etc....but I haven't seen anything like that here.
And I want those reaction glasses too if at all possible.
so where do you specs-wearing people buy yours in Poland?

Life / Do Polish parents let/encourage their kids to **** outdoors? [40]

dont mind if it's piśś, piśś is harmless, just soaks into the ground (no different than a dog really), never seen a kid shitting in public tho, that's just wrong. Think I'd howl with laughter and embarrass the idiot parent.

On the subject is this the only country in Europe that still refuses to clean up after their dogs? Fuckin dogshit everywhere....gets so hot in the summer than you can literally smell it baking in the sun...and then when the snow melts in Feb, there's wee little snow eggs everywhere on the grass.

UK, Ireland / Is moving to UK now a good idea? - antipolish prejudice of the Brits [231]

Home Office figures are supposed to be correct and authentic

link?

Ya see I woulda believed that image until you said it came from the Daily Mail.
Come on Sheila, you cannot use the Mail as a source, would you also use Fox News as a source, or other quality publications such as Caravan weekly, Boy Scout Companion etc?

There is no information on what they count as convictions.....if you pay a traffic fine, it's probably a conviction If you're given a ticket for drinking on the street that too is probably a conviction. If you don't pay your BS council tax and (other hidden charges of moving to not-so-great britain) you're convicted, no TV license? Conviction.

Plus these are only figures concerning EU, what about all the illegal traders working in engerland from Pakistan/India/Turkey/Nigeria etc. Scores of them are convicted every day......

*edit.........actually according to the article below a "conviction" is actually an arrest.

Have a read of this post which concerns an earlier article written by (the equally crap) Telegraph regarding a similar piece of rag journalism.
Just because something is written in a news paper doesn't mean it's true

ministryoftruth.me.uk/2008/04/18/immigration-crime-and-statistics-abuse/

And the Telegraph article it is based on

telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/law-and-order/4952904/Crime-by-foreigners-doubles-in-five-years.html

Here's an interesting quote from it
"Any rise [in crime] has been broadly proportionate to the number of people from those communities coming into this country. People are saying crime is rising because of this influx. Given 1 million people have come in, that doesn't make sense as crime is significantly down."

Life / What are the requirements to get a cell phone here in Krakow? [22]

if you want a bill phone you will need ID, proof of address and residency permit thingy, if you're from the EU you get a temporary one of these when you apply first then a "permanent " (5 years) one when that one runs out.

You'll need this 2nd one for a bill phone and some shops will only sell you a phone if you have been living here for 6 months.

If you're goin to use the phone as a business phone you'll also need your NIP number.

Also, I suggest gettin a phone on with Play, they are by far the cheapest, but they dont have the iPhone, however they prob have the samsung galaxy so you can still get a decent smart phone, stay away from Era/T-mobile, they're a rip off.

But as said above if you just want a pay as you go phone you can get one pretty easy

Travel / Souvenirs in Krakow/Katowice? [15]

I think Kato has 2 souvenir shops, not a touristy place at all, best thing is to go to Mariacka and enjoy the new pubs and restaurants.

Krakow's the place for gifts, you can buy anything from cheap tacky magnets to expensive wool rugs/amber/ hand made chess pieces, but sure if you're coming to Poland the best souvenir to bring home is some good quality vodka and you can get that in an off license here for feck all

Love / Don't want others to join us at a table - is it normal for Polish girls to get angry? [161]

sure why don't ya just slap your lad out and **** all over here. lol

How come you weren't nice to the fella and try & try and have a bit of banter with her and someone who's obviously her mate?

man, you should always be nice to a chick's mate especially early in a relationship.
anyway just forget about her and learn from the experience, not like there aren't a fuckload of other hot Polish chicks in england

Language / How many words does the Polish language have? [30]

it is impossible to determine exactly how many different words you can find in a language.

writing in bold does not make what you write any more important :P

anyway you're wrong,
check it

Language / How many words does the Polish language have? [30]

Root words only

yep, just those.

the Polish language has exactly 236,817

excellent, much obliged, that wasn't so difficult now was it?

If you know the root you can pretty much figure out the meaning but you won’t find it by looking it up unless you know the root.

Helpful, thanks, I'll remember that.

But I don't understand how kot, kotek and kotku aren't all different words in the dictionary, I know, I know the root of the word is kot, but as they have different uses (and slightly different meanings) then I don't really get why they aren't treated as different words.

However, it's not my language, I'm just trying to learn it, so it's really a moot point and it doesn't matter that I don't understand it I just have to learn them and remember them.

Cheers

Language / How many words does the Polish language have? [30]

but as a linguist I can't resist:

a cunning one no doubt :P

This is a pointless question for many reasons, including but not limited to:

is anyone on this forum ever helpful......?
I'm just looking for an estimate

ffs I'm not looking for your life story or a kurwa thesis on the lexicon regarding the complexity of the intricities of the language. Lighten up man, smile.

I've trawled the internet and the lowest number I got was 60,000, the highest was 160,000....one did say 350,000 but that was when you figure in all the changes that are applied to root words because of the nasty grammar rules in the Polish lingo.

Language / How many words does the Polish language have? [30]

Hi,

very quick question, I'm researching an article on the amount of words in the English and Polish languages.....
English is said to have over 1,000,000 words, how many words does the Polish language have?

Lowest number I've seen in 60,000, highest was 160,000, it's got to be more than that, is it?

Cheers

Life / Is it me or do people "seem" to live longer in Poland? Life expectancy among Poles. [52]

as to compare conditions in which they lived (war, communism).

.......and that excuses their behaviour for being nasty.....look I don't give a hoot what the situation was when they were young, it's a long time ago, gtf over it and get on with your life and stop being so miserable.

that the Polish men die earlier, than those from Belgium, for example.

yea, it's prob something to do with the diet and living conditions.

Don`t you agree ?

yes, I do, you're arguments are awesome and I'm forever in your debt.

dzieks

Life / Is it me or do people "seem" to live longer in Poland? Life expectancy among Poles. [52]

From your personal info

you've got so little to do that you go to someone's personal info before over-reacting to a comment they've made....wow, girl you need to get a hobby or something if you'e got so little to be doing with yourself.

Sorry for having a sense of humour I know that's kinda frowned upon in Warsaw but in the nicer parts of Poland it's still actually ok to have a joke.

Life / Is it me or do people "seem" to live longer in Poland? Life expectancy among Poles. [52]

yea they just look old, Polish men die fairly young, many of the father's of my Polish friends have already had heart attacks and they're all only in their 50s.....suppose you can lay the blame on the Polish diet of pork and beer.....Polish women also turn into bigger geebags the older they get.

Nothing as angry as an elderly Polish woman.....maybe they live longer coz they are powered by their anger, I dunno and maybe the men die younger coz their women are always pissed at them.
