UK, Ireland / Why can't unemployed Polish people on benefits just leave UK and go home please? [240]

just who is fiddling who ?.

Exactly.
All this anti benefits hysteria has been whipped up by the government in order to divert attention away from their own 'expenses' claims and from big business paying zero income tax in the UK.

We have to rise above it.
Apart from that, in general Polish people tend to be workers, not benefits claimants.

History / When will you Poles give back German land and the cities which you robbed? [557]

In the spiritual sense, Poles can rightly claim any land they have tilled, where they have worked, loved, prayed, built their homes, raised families, laid their ancestors to rest and left their blood, sweat and tears in.

well to take that idea to its logical conclusion does that mean that British people can retake India, NZ, Aus, USA< etc?

News / Secularism = a dying society. How this phenomenon affects birth rate in Poland? [20]

" I am also shocked by the fact that parents need to buy schoolbooks. "

I thought that was the norm across mainland Europe?
Certainly in Spain one has to buy schoolbooks.
In the UK you don't even need to buy a pencil. OK you have to buy uniforms instead...
I know my Polish sister in law found it very hard to afford everything her kid needed for school.

UK, Ireland / Polish candidate for London mayor to represent 2nd-class citzens [26]

The British imperialist mentality, sense of superiority and tendency to look down on "wogs" of every type.

I dont disagree, but London is really not like that, and has not been for many years.
Honestly if this Zylinski felt like that in London, he must have been out there actively searching for "racism".
Massive chip on shoulder.
As for him representing Indians and so on, that is actually quite amusing from what I know about London society.
Let's just say that the English are not the most racist people in the capital....:)

UK, Ireland / Why English do not like Polish? [417]

Thats my big question, can't put my finger on it, don't understand why anyone would be rude to you or laugh at you?

it doesnt take much in Poland to set off the shopgirls for example.
A certain type of Polish woman seems to find foreigners just the most hilarious thing she ever encountered. And she will make no secret of it!

It fekcing hacks me off, we 'Poms' have had to listen to people mashing up our language for eve

History / History of European and Poland's anti-semitism [192]

oh yes Anti Semitism in Poland, not America....
What I found fascinating when I taught classes in Poland, is that there were even any Jewish names left at all on the class regisiter, what with the terrible history of WW!! as well as a later expulsion of Jews.

Yet one name I remember was 'Seder' surely a Jewish name?
I suppose there will always be survivors but surely any left would have departed for Israel?

History / History of European and Poland's anti-semitism [192]

My wife didn't get her PhD through the machinations of a Jewish lady professor.

alternatively your wife did not get her PhD because what she had written was not good enough.
I know which scenario I find more likely tbh.

News / Dunkin Donuts to come to Poland [46]

oh yes so 'ich bin ein Berliner' meant 'I am a doughnut'?

I am sure Dunkin Doughnuts won't last long in Poland, too much home cooking and not enough love of junk food surely?

UK, Ireland / Single Polish women in Northampton? [5]

I was brought up with certain "values" and I find that British women simply do not have

probably says quite a lot about you and the kind of people you hang out with....
Here's a plan, move back to Italy.
