History / German Traitor And Polish Pig [96]

Both are true (except part: uncultured, brainless Slavs)

Heh:)
As if you get to choose...

It was not showing animosity to anyone.

Yeah..."less human, mechanical animals" was to misunderstood completly! My fault!

God Loddy...your whining crocodiles tears gets boring! Try to play another record...Germany was often enough the ass for foreign armies to clean their boots on. The 30 years war was much more destructive and traumatic for the Germans than everthing the Poles had to endure. Do you see whine us and "forgive but never forget" and all these diatribes?

Every country has it's highs and lows and history moves on, regardless what you think about it!
So take your finger and shove it!

As I said ONLY Germans were able to do such things and to be honest they are able to do it again. I'm not trying to tease you this time.

Well....what does that say about you? Your german half?

but I don't think I am ready to accept that generally the Germans are less mechanical just because of those few people.

That's always especially funny coming from a self-touted "I love you all!" Treehugger.

Where exactly is the difference to the "uncultured, brainless Slavs who are unfit to rule themselves?"

Actually when I started this thread I was expecting this kind of response:

So why did you open it?

Indeed, your sad irony would be in place if some people were on the same intellect level as you are, Junge...

Normally I keep out of such discussions, that's for the Poles to grapple with...but some "arguments" are just to familiar!

I can tell you :)

Gerhard was an inherent Nazi, less human (more like subhuman animal), he has less emotion and is more machine like (how he managed to fall for Bronka is beyond me).....did I forget something?

...great discussion btw :)

Yes. I'm not sure about the price. Obviously it's forbidden in Germany so BB may educate himself here.

Wot???

Actually my first thought was about the trials of the shaven women in France and Holland, punished for their love for german soldiers....

Genealogy / Polish nationality? Which of the following (if any) determine being Polish. [231]

Where did you get this mother determines the bloodline stuff?

It's rather PolskiDumb trying to pin famous people to Poland just because of a "ski" somewhere in the name...regardless if these people ever set a foot into Poland, had any idea of polish culture or even spoke one word polish.

What do you think of that?

Nietzsche claimed to be Polish in his book Ecce Homo and so you are very wrong in claiming that he denied being Polish.

Well...I can claim to be Japanese....I still won't become one.

But hey..you are claiming to be an Easterner with a distaste to the West. But nonetheless you are also an American, born and living in the epitome of the West. Tja, such is life! Nobody is perfect...

Genealogy / SEARCHING FOR A RUSSIAN FATHER.....where to begin.... [12]

There won't be many chances if they stay true to their past behavior. But times might have changed there too...

When in East Germany such things happened the culprit was spirited away, far away to another post in the vast empire...and no contact allowed even if wanted.

Your friend should find out where this unit was relocated to after leaving Poland. Most officers got to retire in the near in newly build communities. There must be something official there, a mayor or so...she will need russian to ask people there....

Genealogy / SEARCHING FOR A RUSSIAN FATHER.....where to begin.... [12]

It was the Soviet 15th Guards Division which was stationed there....

The last of the large Russian units, the 15,000 men strong Soviet 15th Guards Division (then renamed to Vitebsk-Novgorod Division of the Russian Federation) was withdrawn from Borne Sulinowo in October 1992. The town became a part of Poland...

History / What was it like in 1989+ in Poland when the Soviet house of cards fell? [237]

Tell me about it - I'm trying to write a book about the Polish/German border post 1945 - and I've still got so many gaps in my research.

There is some material about it...but in german...

News / Warsaw is the natural capital of Europe, not Brussels [67]

Maybe a good choice for capital of Europe would be a small country capital in the middle of Europe, like Budapest, Prague or Belgrade?

Berlin is totally central....:)

(and secretly the real capital anyhow)

News / On German Fields, Romanians replace Poles [9]

Not really...there is a labor shortage which is bound to get worse....

dw-world.de/dw/article/0,,15075929,00.html

The head of Germany's labor agency has said the country will face a massive shortage of qualified workers in the coming years, predicting that some 2 million of them will have to be acquired from abroad.

News / Visegrad Battle Group under the command of Poland [261]

Shouldn't you be outside then...doing some guerilla fighting or so??? When you can't be arsed to become active in the resistance why do you expect it from Poles, Russians or other Slavs?

(And no, being big mouthed on some internet board does NOT count!)

History / Poland's biggest historical blunder? [341]

The forces stationed in Radom, in the former barracks of 72th Infantry Regiment of Polish Army. Over barracks on high pole blew Polish white-red flag, as well as a great inscription reading "Wehrmacht waits for you! Lets fight together against Bolsheviks!".

Barracks, polish flag, slogan...what do you want more! ;)

History / Poland's biggest historical blunder? [341]

How many Poles were there in the German army? Please provide a source.

We have had this topic several times already in PF :)

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poles_in_the_Wehrmacht

...
The formation of Polish units to serve with the Wehrmacht began in the autumn of 1939, following the defeat of Poland. Władysław Studnicki, a Polish politician and publicist, stated that in the late fall of that year, various Polish activists had come to see him, telling that somebody should send a delegation to Berlin.
As early as November 20 1939, he presented to the Germans "An appeal to re-establish the Polish Army".

So not really, Poles weren't fighting for German army.

Erm....

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polska_Si%C5%82a_Zbrojna

"I oblige myself to fight against Bolshevism in voluntary service of German armed forces. I will put all diligence into guarding against Bolshevism my nation, as well as European and whole civilized world. I oblige myself to unconditionally and obediently execute my military superiors' orders and to be a good colleague..."
