Too many people got wrapped up in the whole sloganistic side of things, that Ireland was a thriving land of milk+honey. It's very difficult to sustain that.

I think a lot of FF/developer-bankers put huge structured effort into censorship, as wells as pumping positive information through the media, and anything that questioned the sloganism was seen as anti-progress(almost regressive as if to question the system was some form of mental illness)and attacked with snark.Similar technique as the lackies use on this site when covering up the present massive polish property bubble. I think the Irish were duped.

Was the Celic Tiger just the USA/IMF using Ireland as a gateway into europe? Was the whole thing staged?

Checked out the asking price on newspaper and then visited the owner's, to see if they are willing to drop their insane western prices."nie" was the answer.

Just spent a while driving around Lublin and checking house prices ,and they are still, in my view, insanely and criminally high. The people i know there, who bought there, are up to their necks in debt, trying to survive, and they have 40 odds yrs left in repayments. Poor feckers.

No.Never ever in the history of Poland a milion died of starvation,like in the core state of Ireland.

Ireland was obviously not a core state, like scotland, we were seen as the poorest countries of europe in the 17th and 18th century. The famine/genocide thing in ireland, as well, unnatural disaster but this does not take away from the fact that eastern europe is and was the poor grey end of europe, in relation to the core-states.
