Some of tomorrow's too. And frankly most of yesterday's. But is that a reason for spitting feathers whenever a new development comes along? One can't make an omlette without breaking eggs - perhaps you think we should have turned our backs on the industrial revolution because of the unprecedented health risks of factory work?

I get the impression that if you had been born 150 years earlier, you'd have been whining about excessive use of the new-fangled postal service, with women "constantly jabbering" in letters to their friends about idle gossip and the damage to their hands from using quill pens so much...

History / Insoluble Judaeo-Polish imbroglio? [44]
I was thinking about that. It seems that despite some of the most extreme situations that history can throw at two peoples occupying the same space, Jewish/Polish relations tick along just fine, until some extremist like Giertych (all three of them) comes along with a great deal of malice and attention-seeking behaviour and does the best they can to throw a spanner into the works.
, I was trying to put a positive light on Jewish-Polish relations, since as you probably know, they haven't exactly been perfect over the years LOL I was trying to be constructive and positive.

I tend to leave the rejoicing to the Poles - however we are discussing Polish/Jewish relations, and an Education minister who is a member of a party with, to say the least, a chequered history is very relevant to that. Don't you think so? It isn't often that a country refuse to deal with a specific minister. But nevertheless, LK appointed him.

That seems about right, in that case. In somewhere like Ostrzeszow, you should be able to live OK on that amount. Many people will be on less. You shouldn't worry about it too much, and good luck!

Before or after tax and what sort of work? Either way it isn't great, but in Ostrzeszow it's probably about par for the course.

I'd try the Parish Church, assuming they were Catholic. If not, the records office in the nearest big town might be the best bet.
