Travel / Is Sleeping in Car in Poland (while passing) legal? [13]

I used to sleep in my truck often enough when driving for a firm in Poland

It's also recommended for truckers to pull over and a take snooze, when feeling a sense of fatique.

do not do it in a paid private car park

Are there many inexpensive outdoor camping areas in Poland? Folks may considering paying a small fee, in order to camp in/out of their vehicle for the night.

you are sleeping in your car in winter , you need an army sleeping bag thats good for minus 30...

Probably a good idea to bring along a thin solar blanket too, for extra warmth.

Life / Schizophrenia treatment in Poland [19]

The health services try their best here, but are very limited in what they are able to achieve.

I had worked in a mental health hospital previously. Many of the services such as inpatient treatment required preauthorization, with very limited insurance coverage. Is it the same situation for mental health coverage in Poland?

You still need a TV license @ £150 / year

Wow, that's a lot of $ just to watch tv via the internet. Here many people here, watch what they want via Netflix, approx $10 per month.

Travel / Abandoned airfield south-east of Wroclaw [7]

I flew over what appeared to be an abandoned airfield that was now some sort of business park

That'd be interesting to see. Did you happen to get any aerial photos to share with us?

The abandoned airport in my vicinity, has been rented out previously for a rock concerts.

Food / Is Polish food still more natural than in the West? [142]

Is Polish food still more natural than in the West?

Both foods are usually okay, when consumed in moderation. My sis went to our relative's Polish wedding recently. She ate so much kielbasa; her ankles had become swollen, I suppose anything can be overdone.

Life / Moving to Wroclaw from New York City [8]

Is it safe for a non-white foreigner to go walking about the city after dark?

I wouldn't advise you to walk alone though a dark alley at 2:00 am, flaunting a Rolex & wallet full of money. Just use the same commonsense you'd use, while walking after dark in the Big Apple.

Life / A rant on customer service in Poland [42]

bought the Mekong Duck at Noodle w Pudle and there was no duck. My box says duck,

I despise FALSE advertising. For example, restaurants listing crab item on the menu. In turn, ends up being that fake crab junk!

Bandidos and Vagos

We've got the Diablos in S Calif. They sometimes hangout at the Screaming Chicken Saloon, in Devore. Best biker bar was Angel's Roadhouse, in Yucaipa. Had some great times there ;)

Are there any bikers bars in Poland?

PS. Where and why you moving to Russia?

Wildrover's found himself a cute Russian biker chick!

Food / What Polish foods Euro 2012 foreign fans rave about [9]

beckski, when you say hunters stew, does that mean it has venison in it

Yuck! I suppose it could be prepared that way. My mom would use a combo, of what ever meat's avail or leftover in the fridge. Kinda everything but the kitchen sink can go into bigos. It's also referred to as a Poorman's Stew.

Do you know how to make it?

Pgtx has provided a recipe:)

USA, Canada / How do I find my 2nd cousin in IL possibly Chicago? [15]

I cant knock onto someones door and ask if they know where the previous owner is

You can look up the address on US White Pages, to see if current occupant's phone # is listed.

You can also look up a property owner's name under Tax Accessor. Try checking the information provided, for the county in which they live.

Language / Learn Polish or Russian [86]

So pretty much I'd rather learn Polish but I'm a little iffy on the decision to.

If you have the opportunity, I say go for it!
