News / Why is Poland developing so slowly or in the wrong direction? Who is responsible ? [317]

Is Poland in great shape today? Absolutely not.

I agree with you.
I'm not sure why this is a topic even. Hell, I don't know why there's so many s'tupid topics here sometimes! Anyways, my 2 cents is this: Poland today is more homogenous, wealthier and safer than it has been in the last 300 years or so. It's not perfect but name me one Euro country that is. France, Germany and the UK will be divided in a few decades by mult-culti and this is where the real chaos lies for Europe. Poland in my opinion is much better off because right now the population is quite homogenous. I see good things for Poland. By the way, I read recently that in the last few years, Poland has build more roads and highways to better connect itself (especially in Eastern Poland) than it has done in all of its history.

Love / Good looking Polish women with ugly men [416]

I have travelled to Poland many times, and have been to many parts of the country.

Ahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahaa- I'm a Polish guy and complain about this all the time. I'm a handsome Polish guy and wonder the same thing. It could be how the womens tastes have developed in Poland over the centuries. I think a lot of Eastern European women actually date somewhat ugly guys. Mediteraneans seem to take care of themselves more.

Life / Are Poles bigots and xenophobes? [205]

Polish are brave, heroic....losers! That's how you love to see yourself...the world is only so cruel to you all the time with purpose....because you are Poles...you suffer so nicely!

You nazi kraut as'shole. The real Germans are dying out. Just let your Turkish friends take over already. Bye bye Germany. :)

Language / The Future of Polish Language [179]

Therefore, Polish indeed has a future, a long and healthy one no doubt-:)

I don't know about that. There's this Polish b'itch in my house who's been studying abroad for 2 years only and refuses to speak Polish to me. Says it's easier to speak in English. Can you believe this s'hit? She speaks great in English so it's not like she needs to practice. But I feel like I need to practice my Polish. Do you see my problem? Gonna have to slap that b'itch sometime. Knock some sense into her.

News / POLISH ART is not well represented in the West (especially in the US). Why? [25]

One question: why is Polish art not very well represented in the West? Especially in N.America. There's too much emphasis on Anglo, French, Dutch and German artists (photographers and painters). Is it a form of discrimination? I think it might be.

Separate issue- if one wants to go into the photography business in Poland, is it easy? I would love to contribute something to Polish art culture.

News / WHY IS POLAND STILL GIVEN THE COLD SHOULDER? [197]

4. That, my mathematically inept friend, means that at the same rates of shrinking
(5% for Italy) and growth (1.6% for Poland), in 14 years Poland would have larger
economy than Italy.

Brilliant!

Olive oil, pasta and designer suits can only get you so far I guess.

News / WHY IS POLAND STILL GIVEN THE COLD SHOULDER? [197]

it'll never have the dominance of the "big 4" in the EU

Why would you say that?? I can see Poland having just as much influence one day as Italy. Just give it time.

News / WHY IS POLAND STILL GIVEN THE COLD SHOULDER? [197]

Some say that America's culturally WASPified and financially largely Jewish controlled media are responsible for Poland's poor PR image. Maybe Poles themselves are to blame for not being assertive enough. They are often at each others throats but towards foreigners or the host society as émigrés they tend to be meek, mild, complaisant and try to melt into the woodwork rather than stand up for their rights.

You make some good points here and I have to agree with a lot of it. Poles are too passive. They're shy about speaking Polish in public when you have Chinese, Hispanics, Indians, Germans etc. yapping in their languages. I don't understand why? I have witnessed this and it bothers me. I'm the opposite but I'm in the minority. Truth be told I think Poles overseas are weak with no political power. They simply s'uck at it. The best Poles I think have stayed in Poland. And again this has a co-relation to Polish history. Being allies with other nations and helping them, only to be stomped on and oppressed. Seems like todays Poles have been psychologically weakened and oppress themselves, which is very strange. Sad really. But I'm glad I am not like this!

Life / Weather in Poland - some explanations [30]

I live in Canada and the whole world thinks we live in igloos. In fact Poland's weather is very comparable to where I live in southern Ontario. The weather in Poland gets cold around mid-November and may last until April. Just like in Canada. Overall I think central Europe has much better weather than the British Isles.

News / 30 to 40 thousand abortions by Polish girls in foreign countries [142]

If this is true then here's some wisdom from me:

1) if you're gonna open your legs to some piece of s'hit then expect the consequences. Or just use a condom!

2) this is the beginning of the end. A too liberal society breeds immorality and decadence. Too many abortions is not good for the growth of a country. Try not having so many abortions!

3) Polish b'itches should be more responsible. Just keep the kids! I thought Poles were supposed to be family oriented!

Life / Poland's population predictions [59]

I will make a prediction that in the next decade or so a lot of Poles will return to Poland to start up business and work. I don't see Poland becoming a refugee country. America, Canada and the UK are not that great anymore.

UK, Ireland / The more subtle differences: Ireland/Britain v Poland [310]

Some years ago I shared apartment with the one young British couple. They had a habit of sleeping naked with their bedroom door open, and they'd sleep until noon. This was very unusual for me, just too much information. Thank g-d, it was only for a week.

F'ucking weirdos. I hear Austrians are similar.

USA, Canada / EMPIRE STATE BUILDING IN NYC DISRESPECTS POLISH AMERICANS! [88]

The New York metropolitan area contains the largest ethnic Chinese population outside of Asia

The 3.37 million WOP community is spread out over the NYC metro area which has around 19 million people! It's also called the tri-state area (New York, New Jersey, Connecticut). The top 5 European communities in NYC are:

Italian: 8.2%
Irish: 5.2%
German: 3.4%
Russian: 3.0%
Polish: 2.7%

In New York City- Italian (692,739), German (255,536), Irish (420,810), Polish (213,447). So the Polish community is not really all that smaller then the German community. Germans had their colors lit up in late September. The Jewish community in metro NYC is 1.97 million. The borough of Brooklyn has 456,000 Jews and Manhattan 243,000 Jews, confirming the fact that Jews rule NYC. Indeed Jews and Irish seem to do well in politics.

The bottom line is NYC metro area has the second largest Polish community in America.

New York is home to a number of Polish and Polish-American cultural, community, and scientific institutions, including the Polish Institute of Arts and Sciences of America (PIASA) and the Polish Cultural Institute. Polish-language publications with circulation reaching outside the city include The Polish Review, an English-language scholarly journal published since 1956 by PIASA; Nowy Dziennik [1], founded in 1971, considered the leading Polish-language daily newspaper in the U.S.; and Polska Gazeta [2], a Polish-language daily newspaper with headquarters in Brooklyn. The Polish Newspaper SuperExpress [3], covering New York, New Jersey & Connecticut started publication in 1996.

USA, Canada / EMPIRE STATE BUILDING IN NYC DISRESPECTS POLISH AMERICANS! [88]

I wonder what would happen if they didn't turn on the colors for the Italians on Columbus Day? I guess the Polish community is not so important in New York. I still think this is somewhat political. A huge snub to the old Polish community that help build America.

USA, Canada / EMPIRE STATE BUILDING IN NYC DISRESPECTS POLISH AMERICANS! [88]

Read this

Empire State Building disses another group after rejecting Poles' request to honor hero Gen. Pulaski.
Furious Polish-Americans say the Empire State Building is giving one of their Revolutionary War heroes the Mother Teresa treatment.

They claim their request to honor Gen. Casimir Pulaski tonight by lighting the tower in the Polish colors of white and red was shot down without explanation.

nydailynews.com/ny_local/2010/10/02/2010-10-02_a_pole_lot_of_anger_at_empire_light_snub.html

Is this true discrimination? I think it is. It should be noted that the owner of the Empire State Building is a Jew.
Discuss.

Life / POLISH YOUTH compared to the youth in other Western countries? [57]

I just met a Polish girl in Toronto who has for the last 20 years lived in Austria. She wants out of that country. She has told me the youth in Austria are sluttier, the men and women are lost and don't know their gender roles, the men don't treat the women like princesses (maybe that's a good thing) like in Poland and basically they don't like kids. She even said her former boyfriends father used to answer the door naked.

In her opinion the young Poles still believe in marriage, want kids/raise them better and have a different sense of morals (generally speaking). And they don't answer the door naked.

News / Newsweek's The World's Best Countries (Poland ranked 29) [128]

Healthy Life Expectancy for Poland is 67? I'm pretty sure the figures have been in the low 70's for a while. I have a grandmother in Poland who's 90 and a grandfather who is in his late 70's.
