Poland is very different from the UK...if you come here expecting Poland to be like the UK with the same ways of doing things then you will quickly become frustrated , as nothing will work the way you expect it to , you will find it hard to make Polish friends , as you will come across as stuck up and unfriendly untill you know how to interact with Polish people , and if you don,t speak the language or have a Polish partner you will almost certainly fail here.....

Its all about adapting and fitting in , if you are not able to do that then you will have a sorry time in Poland...

I am lucky in that i can adapt to anything...if you dropped me in the middle of Mongolia tomorow i would soon have a bunch of Mongolian friends showing me how to go on...

You have to accept whats wrong with Poland , just as the Poles do , and work your way around it , and get what you can from all that is good in Poland...

Poland is not going to adapt to you..you have to adapt to it.....

Don,t worry about it MG..there will always be people who can,t believe that anyone can be something out of the ordainary...It seems to be common in Poland..

Not that many of my friends in Poland know i was a racing driver , but one guy who found out i was went around telling everybody i was not , and never had been...

Kinda strange , as he found out due to seeing a story about me in a magazine at my house...

Trying to live like an Englishman in Poland just does not work..you have to learn to live and think like a Pole , which is not at all easy...

Otherwise you just wind up being disapointed , frustrated and angry , and you end up hating the place...

Go with the flow , and try to just enjoy the great things about Poland..there are many...!

I guess you can cover up most bits of your body if you are burned , but you can,t really hide your face if its terribly scarred...

My brother in laws father had his face burned in the aircraft fire , and you could not fail to see the damage that was done...

As a member of the guinea pig club he was one of the people who were experimented on to find a way to treat people with bad burns , it was a completly new problem to deal with , as before this time medical knowledge was not good enough for people with burns to even survive....

Its thanks to such people that plastic surgery is now very advanced...

World war two was largely caused by the resentment Germans felt after the humiliation that was imposed on them.... If you do this sort of thing to any country , you are bound to have it come back and bite you in the ass at some point...

The Allies were carefull not to make this mistake again , and after the end of the second war did all they could to help rebuild Germany..
