UK, Ireland / The number of Anti-English Poles... [228]

What the fook is one of those?

IT is a person who sacks you, then out of guilt for your Polish girlfriend depending on your extra tips for living, resigns himself and offers you his job ;) :P :D

They'll be kept at the post office.

Never happened to me in my life. Put them in a shoe box and call them books.

Love / Inside polish women's psychology and mind [109]

Do you like arsenic? :P

Lol, I'll not continue down that line...does it come with cheese though? :)

Depends on who's asking.

Hehe

but I do think women should come out of their traditional role-pattern.

That's one difference in our modern lives, that roles in a traditional family unit are changing, even our "gender" roles are changing, slowly but still changing. I don't think its a bad thing but traditions have been lost. Guess we will have to wait for 50years to see what benefits come out of this.

I agree with this part and would add a higher percentage would prefer to be in a steady career before kids (good thing IMHO).

Real Estate / PLN 2,500 the going rate for an apartment in Poland [210]

Is that where we went drinking?

Na that's just on Wielicka, it was pretty cheap too, 1500pln all bills included.

Here's a list of what I paid during my 5 years in Krakow.
Nowa Huta - 700pln(excluding bills) for a two roomed flat. 32m2
Krowoderska - 2200pln(excluding bills) for a 1 roomed flat. 48m2 (It was brand new and very plush hence the high price)
Starowislna - 1300pln(excluding bills) for two roomed flat 42m2
Ul.Wielicka - 1500pln(including bills) for a two roomed flat in brand new complex, 38m2
Krowoderska - 1800pln (including bills) for a 4 roomed flat, 56m2

So as you can see there is a wide range of prices. Some consistent and some not so. Depends on what you're looking for and how much you're willing to pay.

As I said, I can find you affordable apartments but they won't be in the centre of the city in the best areas.

You can also find them in the city center too. I had an apartment for 1300pln on Starowislna, Also rented with my Polish friends a place with 4 bedrooms on Krowoderska for well under 2k.

You just have to look a bit harder or speak to the right people to find them.

Well, I pay 950PLN for everything.

Exactly what I paid in Krakow for brand new flat. Just to make sure the flat was 1800 per month but I shared with my best mate at the time.

Always a better way to spend your cash. I haven't been to a club since I got back from Poland. Got any festivals lined up for this year?

You can rent one bed flats in Huta for 600pln, it's not classed as part of Krakow ffrom the Krakowians though, but I loved it :)

all my student loan is on this plus a little bit of hard earnings as well but still have bursary and grant

See this is why I didn't go down the uni route cos if I was a student I would be as responsible and would waste my cash too quickly :D

(To keep it on topic may I say I once saw rented a flat for 800pln in Nowa Huta :P )

Taylor thats beyond f*cked up, thats financial slavery.

A lot of people would see it as a way out and an opportunity to be able to afford a place of their own. Doesn't matter whether its for 150 years or only 25years, most people still pay a lifetime to the banks for credit. How many folk do you know who live in the same house all their lives, they usually move on and in doing so get more credit to get a bigger better place.

The job you mention is probably more realistically an accounts assistant in the UK on about 15k a year.

Yep thats what she said to me at the time. That she felt that anyone could be doing her job and didnt really need the qualifications to key in numbers and orders. In fact she later found out that folk with degrees in Journalism and other bizarre field also worked in the same position. Cant talk too much about it as its the same place that contract work to me and if anyone from there read this or new how much I charge for work done they would go nuts! :D

That is insane. How about not giving lifetime credits so that the prices will come back down to being affordable without making slaves of working people?

Not really, it stamps out the chance of going into debt due to the payments being so small and places in Sweden aren't too expensive anyway. It's just another way to make it affordable to get credit and for the banks not needing to take so much risk.

yeah... i'm thinking about young people, as a fresh start... living with parents...? ... people who make 5 digits per month think about bigger things, not some small apt in town...

This is why I am in favour of the Swedish system. Where you can get credit for over 150 years. They buy houses with the intent that when they move their children will take over the payments and therefore be able to afford to live a decent life.

This is quite typical of Krakow as well. Problem with the "average" wage is that it doesn't represent the majority. Generally it is boosted up due to some very very high earning directors compared to the "normal" employees of a company.

An Accountant working for an international company with a masters degree in Finance and Accounting would expect as a wage of about 2500pln per month (before tax). This is why it is written into their contracts that they cannot discuss their pay with anyone. The same position with the same company in the USA or Western Europe would be about 4k-6000 dollars. Pretty sh1t position to be in to be honest.

In the last 2 places I stayed in Krakow I shared with a Young husband and wife because even though He worked as an engineer in Germany and she as a Nurse in Poland, they still couldn't get credit to buy or had enough money to rent. :(

In Scotland I rent a 3 bedroom place in a very desirable area back and front garden. Bills included it costs me only £350 a month. A lot cheaper than it would in Poland. That's what is fecked up.

It's about the usual price when punting towards foreigners.

I've seen a few places in Krakow going for upto 4k a month for 2 bedrooms and a living room. Generally the reason you will have 6 students to a 3 bedroomed flat.

Clueless, have u ever lived in Poland?

i belive that's just showing how English u are witch is another reason for not educating my child around muppets like yourself '

Yup, the Poles have a lot better understanding of English...written mostly.

Fella i spent a great many years ducking an fighting my way in life an i have the scars an stab holes from two knife wounds ' one in the face an one in the back so maybe u can educate myself about knife crime in London as u no a lot more than i do an obviously your an expert muggings an stabbings .

Soory, I dont know many people with lives like yours, maybe you're not in the best area, or friends with the wrong people. But seriously, out of everybody I know in london none have to "duck and dive" on their way to school or home.

seen an read more than enough to educate myself about food production an demand for a product .

And you have read enough and still want to come to gid old Polska? Do u know the **** that gets pumped into thir ham and meat?
