UK, Ireland / Estimated number of Poles in Ireland thought to exceed 200,000 OR over 5% of population. [200]

Anyhow this has gone of topic, the fact is, we are talking about Eire. The country has a large percentage of immigrants in comparison to ten years ago. Esri claim that 100,000 people will emigrate in the next 2 years. 1 in 5 houses in the country is empty, due to the property bubble.

Close to 14 % unemployment. No bankers in Jail. The IMF Pirates are in town and the Germans are barking at the door. The Irish 'left' want to default, because they want the protest vote, and they know, they wont be elected. The 'right' want power as usual(and will get it, just ask the bookies), so they will continue FF policy, and with the usual 'doublethink', convince the 'easily duped public', that they will reverse the FF's (the other right wing party) policies that got us in the sh1tter, in the first place. It always made me think that Poland must be some great country for them to talk so much about it.

Man, i get your point here, big time. I brought some Poles around Ireland several times, and(some thought) the mountains were not high enough,, and the forest were too small, the food is crap,The people are false,There's nothing to do here..etc etc. When i got to Poland I thought I was going to see a fuucking jungle with buffalo running around. I saw towns, that would be considered huge cities in Ireland and they had NOTHING in them just disgusting Blocks(what the hell do you do, in this town?makes Moate look like Venice!)In stead of seeing Slavic warriors, herding buffalo,i saw badly dressed men, with mustaches and ugly pea-caps hanging outside Pub/shops drinking beer and farting, and grunting at me for not looking local.

I was a little shocked.
I think the problem is, that a lot of Poles simply have not travelled, because they are poor; they are a bit like the frog who was trapped in a well and thought that the bit of sky he could see was the whole world, and he grew to love it. Over-identification basically.

Saying all that, the Irish, that emigrate (can be)are a bunch of whingers as well, wearing sh1tty Ireland jerseys and singing those horrible cliche Irish anthems, that make people who are into music, vomit, and talking about Irish history even thought they know nothing about it.

Also I have a lots of great great friends in Poland who are a 100% and there are so many beautiful places in Poland.

whats the issue between teffle and ironside?

nothing..
but i remember on RTE back in 2005, a member of the audience put the following question to the panel.."with the large influx of Eastern Europeans into Ireland;could this mean, by about 2030, we could be considered a 'good looking people?'". The panel of conservative politicians looked a little shocked..LOL

News / Poland goes bankrupt? [110]

The only people who are not bankrupt are tribes that are still living in the stone age. T

They(stone-age tribes) probably have more 'disposable income' than the average Polish worker.

I wanted to know what is specific characteristic of Irish culture, except folklore, it seems to me that there only two things - rejection of foreign rule and Catholicism which allowed to survive separate identity.

Seems like the pro-Brit/Pro-treaty "political" revisionist, dogs of the dominant culture have painted your view of the Island of Ireland or else your just a p1ss taker, pressing buttons. If you want to know about Ireland, read books not tabloids.

Life / Are Poles bankrupt? [35]

JanDoe,,Talk to Polish people or live over there, if you want to know what it is like...The guys on here are mainly Brits with alterior motives. If you wanted to know about the Spanish and their economy, would you ask for the opinion of a handful of 'opportunistic Brits' living in Madrid...According to the click, that's strategically, monopolising this site, all is great in Poland and it's getting better etc etc....They are providing dis-information.

The rising costs of food and fuel in Poland and the effects on disposable income/economy

I suppose, the heading, now, should be house prices 2011. Talking to a few Poles last night about real-estate ,they just laugh at the present property prices. To them it has become a joke. It has become abstract.
