Language / Polish and Hungarian, how similar? [53]

"I grew up in a Polish neighborhood where many of the elders spoke the language and my own father spoke Polish. I remember some of our neighbors being Hungarian and Czech

It wasnt Czech is was Czechoslovakia in the 1950s - so they were not Czech, whilst Czech's and Slovaks and Poles can (kind of) understand each other, Hungarian is a different language all together...

I have Czech, Slovak and Polish friends so I know they can communicate to a certain degree...But its not the same language.

Get her to befriend a nice guy, just as friends who teaches her...and then take it from there...BBut's idea of books is good, but you need the personal touch in a book...

Love / What to Get my Polish Guy for Valentines Day. [77]

He'll love u for life

Or... he will leave her, for her sister :D

Valentines has totally lost all real meaning,

Pray tell what was the "real" meaning? Its always been about sending cards and tolken gifts to a loved one...it just became more commercialised....The meaning is still exactly the same as it always has been.

UK, Ireland / EEA family permit from Poland to UK - time and process [60]

What would be her position as my wife

She would need a visa to come to the UK regardless of the fact she is your wife, she is a none EU member.

I think some Brit on here married a Ukrainian lady whilst he was living in Poland - cant remember his name though - might be worth doing a search.

So when is the big day? You have met havent you?

UK, Ireland / EEA family permit from Poland to UK - time and process [60]

It would help him - he's entitled to it.

If she is not settled in the UK, he is not entitled to anything.

- they really are clamping down on 'fake' students.

They clamped down some time ago, why do you think students are heading to Poland...Wont be long before "Business Schools" are littering the streets ;0)

I think educational establishments now have to keep records of attendance for non-EU citizens?

Colleges have to be registed and monitored and low attendance by students reported - colleges have to "sponsor" students and are liable for fines if the do not comply, hence the reason the OP was found out.

UK, Ireland / EEA family permit from Poland to UK - time and process [60]

Good luck.

He'll needed it, he's blacklisted by the UK immigration system from getting any kind of visa (hello! he was removed from the country!) the fact his wife isnt British, let alone a British citizen wont really help him a great deal in getting an EEA family permit for the UK either - best off going to Poland or her to Pakistan - after all, Im sure he doesnt care where they are as long as they are together...

EEA family permit

For where? I am assuming for the UK, taking into consideration you violated your visa restrictions (were an economic migrant rather than a genuine student), and were removed from the UK, your chances are slim to none.

Love / Opinion from Polish men on this please (Polish men so 'spiritually' romantic?) [43]

You mean balls and cash.

No, just balls, most women can earn their own cash.

a "big girl"?

Im grown woman who doesnt say things that silly American teenage girls say..unlike yourself.

So if I call you a big boy that means I lowered myself to argue on your level........right?

Nope.... it would just make you look even more silly than you normally look.

Life / WHY ARE POLISH CALENDARS SKEWED? [42]

What about dates? In Poland the day goes first, then the month.

Same in the UK.

lol. At least he's thinking.

Hardly, he post the most crud on this forum.

Smallest to largest.

I was going to say typical man and then thought, hang on a minute..did a man just say that! :D

I think only jewish people consider Saturday as the seventh day. For catholics, it's always been Sunday. The fact that american calendars start on Sunday, even tho everyone considers sunday the end of the week, is a little 'tell' of Jewish influence.

Why do Jews have to come in to this?

Why is Friday the last day of the week ?

Why do Catholics eat fish on Friday?

Love / Opinion from Polish men on this please (Polish men so 'spiritually' romantic?) [43]

it's funny that the kind of guys who admit to being *romantic* are usually p*ssy whipped and nauseatingly boring lol

Agreed, generally quite desparate and have been watching too many chick flicks and dont really have an idea what a "real" woman wants.

those romantics in la la lands are so and all others are not? did you finish your drugs?

We could ask you the same question, by the way did you get your manky plate back? Justy has more idea of real life than you will ever know!

Again, get over yourself.

LOL...you sound like such a big girl!

Life / WHY ARE POLISH CALENDARS SKEWED? [42]

Polonius3

Do you spend half of your life thinking of stupid things to post?

Monday is the first "working" day of the week and Sunday is day 7 so, it makes perfect sense!

I'd say the Americans and English are backwards here if anyone. Around 2000 years or so. ;)

Not at all, calenders start Monday in the UK too.

What????????Monday is the first day of the week in Poland and always has been.

See above. Sunday is always in red simply to signify it being an important day, not the start of the week, maybe Pol just doesnt understand this, the bloody heathen!

Food / Why is it that some Polish people refuse to eat anything that is not Polish? [120]

And that is why British girls are obese ;)

Dont worry, Ive seen a fair few chubby looking Polish girls here in the UK, more will follow :D By the way wasnt this a thread about Polish food and not British girls? Or cant you help yourself?

As to the OP, so what if some Poles prefer their own food, what do you think the average Chinese family cook at home? spag bol?

Love / Polish blonde and a British pensioner. No fool like an old fool, or is it love. [57]

Why a half Greek is better than a full Greek?

Aesthetically speaking, the Northern or Eastern European mix produces a superior look, Greek men are not all that.

I have a friend who has English mother and although he looks different,no way he is better

Ive seen several English/Greek mixes and the men are (apart from one who looked like an albo) very handsome.

But he gets English girls though.

Probably very attractive ones, this is because he doesnt look Greek.

Law / Polish Citizenship for a foreigner whose parents was born in Poland [174]

ID card is much more convenient than having to lug around a British passport.

Its not exactly a case of lugging it is now...besides, can a Pole hold a British passport and a Polish passport? If not, Id say a British one is better from a view of if you like to travel, less visa restrictions with a British passport.

What else? Hmm.. could be useful in some parts of the world to be Polish and not British.

Where? Why?

And there's no guarantee that the UK won't leave the EU.

I can only but dream we will leave, but I think we all know this is never going to happen and even if we do, it wont make any difference, there are plenty of British companies around the world who have set up shop, do you honestly think our movement will be restricted? Ish dont think so!

Do you see that English girls call polish girls dogs?

Correction, I called one particular girl who happens to be Polish a dog and she is, she is rank and looks like she needs a good wash! I feel like sending her the name of my hairdresser and the money for some decent highlights!

Have you seen English girls of the working class how they look?

I think you mean chavs who are actually not working class because they dont actually work. Southy, you have to get out more..There are plenty of hot English girls out there...unforunately for you they're not really in to greek men (half greek is another matter)..You might have a bit of luck with some chav whose had too many alcopops though! I think this is where your problem lies and why you have such a issue with English women, you can only score the ones low on the food chain because most decent English women wouldnt look twice at you even with your wallet wide open.

USA, Canada / REFUSED A HOLIDAY VISA TO THE U.S CAUSE IM POLISH [323]

When the Limeys joined the EU

We have been members since 1973 - we were amongst the second group to join, it was actually the EEC and not the EU at this point. So not really sure that your point was there.

As for Poles having to have visas, if people kept to the rules then it wouldnt be a problem, evidently Poles wont go home from their 2 week break so this spoils for those that would like to go shopping for a weekend to New York..Have said that how about the Yanks in Poland that break the rules with regards to their visas? TUT TUT seems like its a case of the pot calling the kettle black!

News / Freezing weather in Poland, 42 people dead in winter freeze... and no-one cares? [140]

In vast majority of cases these people choose their way of life,

Wrong G, nobody choses to sleep on the streets or to become an alcoholic.

theres a lot of people from all walks of life who have had some bouts of bad luck in their lives and would give an arm and a leg to get their lives back on track!

You hit the nail on the head.

I worked one Christmas eve giving out food to the homeless at a soup kitchen, it was one of the most humbling things I have ever done.

When the cold snap hits people die, not only homeless but also the neglected elderly, we live in developed countries, this kind of thing really shouldnt happen, but it does.

Life / Winter in Poland? [160]

Thats the biggest downer in this country...a bit of snow and everything grindes to a hault! I was in the Czech Rep in Feb 2006 and they had the worst weather on record for about 20 years and I managed to travel round the country without a problem!

USA, Canada / Renewal of Polish passport from the USA [44]

identity databases and ID cads that no-one wants in the UK?

Actually most people I know want them and they are issuing more and more, the sooner the better everyone has to have one! Its generally illegal immigrants and people with something to hide that are against them.

News / Polish & other children legally stolen from their parents in Germany [82]

A friend of mine married a greek guy, she decided that even though living in Greece, she would come home and have the baby here in the UK, just in case there would be problems later - her son would be a British citizen - they ended up divorced, thankfully she was living back here at the time, but had she been living in Greece, she would have had a better option of bringing her child home.

As for the German system where children are concerend, they impose disgusting archaic laws on their own!

News / Cadbury Wedel invest PLN 960mn in Poland by 2012 [19]

(try aldi's store)

rotten cheapo chocolate that has a cheek to call itself chocolate - no thanks.

Yup hundreds of Pole's are no longer working in Cadubury's UK plant, instead their cousins are doing their jobs in Poland for a quarter of the cash. That's capitalism, that's the free market.

Thats supposed to make me feel better? I wont be buying anymore! Made in Poland British products! It'll be McVitis next!
