Life / Polish culture versus rotten West [279]

also, abuse exists in all large organisations, not just the Catholic church.
Look at the BBC for example..:)
Interesting that you mention Spain. that country has spent the last quarter of a century recovering from Franco. Other stuff will come out later.

Classifieds / ANY FOREIGNER (NOT POLISH) FAMILY ADVOCATE IN WARSAW [39]

" If you'd said to me "I need an advocate", and I understood no other language than English, I'd be confused and would politely ask for clarification:-)"

really? I would know exactly what he meant and probably say 'yes you need a solicitor/barrister/lawyer'

News / PiS to impose blanket retail tax in Poland [291]

I learnt my readin', writin', 'rithmetic and religion under the Good Ladies of the Cloth (Felicians and IHM); secondary school was under the Christian Brothers.

ah OK, that does explain a lot. A friend of mine in Ireland received a large sum of money in compensation after similar experiences, I wonder if the US govt is doing that as well. Surely you must be in line for some kind of payout after all that psychological damage!

Classifieds / ANY FOREIGNER (NOT POLISH) FAMILY ADVOCATE IN WARSAW [39]

she reported to Police I raped with my wife....(amazing)

do you mean it is not possible for a husband to rape his wife? Is that why it is 'amazing'?
BTW you do not have any 'rights' as a father. Your child has rights, you have responsibilities.

Genealogy / Lopatowski Family crest [10]

Lopatowski - what a fine name. One of our students had that name, I think he was from the Gorzow area.
Dark capital L I should have said.

UK, Ireland / Daniel Pelka murder: Polish mother and stepfather face life sentences [96]

I will second that.
Some of them are expert at ...let's call it exaggeration.
for example a table with a few cups and papers on it will become ' a table strewn with debris'.
A child's unbrushed hair will become ' matted hair'.
etc etc

Life / Going to Poland in a hijab - Polish people and Islam [154]

don't worry Waleed, it is Levi's problem that he cannot imagine a woman making up her own mind about something.

It is different to the UK though.
I think a nice colourful hijab, possibly worn a little looser than usual, would be fine.

UK, Ireland / Daniel Pelka murder: Polish mother and stepfather face life sentences [96]

what is MOJ? (ministry of Justice?)
and EPOS? oh okay, emergency place of safety?
I believe that some social workers have an axe to grind and have a personal vendetta against certain parents.
Single mothers who do not act shame-faced enough for example. In my area, incomers without family support.
Just a couple of examples.
I have seen a SW report where the mother is castigated for there being 'faeces in the toilet bowl' for example.

Travel / Behavior of Polish travellers on Planes. [72]

I would guess the other 50% who sit politely stewing in their own political correctness

oh I was wondering how long it would take before a blatant troll like yourself would trot that one out.
We could play Daily Mail bingo if you like.

Work / Teaching English lessons with a native speaker in Poland [10]

if OP has not much experience, only a CELTA, I understand it is ... tough.

well it is only a 'gateway' qualification, a bit like passing a driving test and then really learning how to drive afterwards.

As to CELTA! Sorry, it is no big deal as a mere certificate any English native speaker including "chavs" can prepare and pass within a few weeks for a little money.

well that is not even true. What is a 'chav' anyway? In my (extensive) experience the majority of people doing CELTA have a degree.
If your language awareness is rubbish, or you cannot deal with people, you will fail the course.
I can honestly say that my 4 or 5 week CTEFLA course was the hardest month of my life and cost the best part of a grand.

I don't know why you are so chippy about English teachers. Is it because nobody really wants to learn French any more?

Yes, what is a 'chav' please InPolska??

News / Referendum in Poland about so called refugees. [56]

" Referendum should be held in all 28 EU countries. "

what even in countries with no history of referenda? That is not about to happen is it?
Also why do you call her 'Angela'? Surely 'Merkel' would be more suitable for someone in her position? (what I am saying is, would you refer to a male pres. as say, John? No you wouldn't .

News / Demonstrations in Poland in defence of democracy. [2554]

I imagine the UK's despiritualised/animalised rabble were happy

oh do shush old man. The only reason the UK might be 'despiritualised' is from following the USA too much. (your place. You are not Polish and you never will be )

And why are you incapable of conversing without being hateful and making personal attacks?

News / Demonstrations in Poland in defence of democracy. [2554]

Marches that promoted filth and perversion, depraved the young and filled normal adults with disgust

they were taking about a pro democracy march, Pol. Or does the very word 'march' make you think about gay pride marches and set you off slavering and gibbering?

UK, Ireland / Hundreds turn out for funeral of Polish man who died alone on in County Clare Christmas Day [28]

that is the Irish people at their best IMO. I doubt v much he was 'shunned' when alive. perhaps the good people of Ennis (of whom I am personally aquainted with several..:) remember how things might have been for single working men of their own diaspora washed up in eg London or New York.

It seems a pity to twist it.

Life / Should I expect racism as a 'black' woman in Poland [149]

Roz I do not deny that racists would also use the phrase " 'playing the race card".

yes they would, over and over again. I also know what you mean. But with this in mind, perhaps find another term to use, Dolno!
