News / Who controls Gazeta Wyborcza?? [216]

Anyway, since 70% of the Polish electorate do not share your views, we are safe. By the way, do you live in Poland, or somewhere in the wicked, popcommercialist liberal West?

It has to be tough for the smolenkists on this forum.

Polish. After all you are living in Polonialand, so you should speak the lingo perfectly.
Me, as an immigrant from Belgium speak Polish quite well - far from perfect -, but hey, I am not part of the Polonialand church.

But then again, I think if you move to another country, you should master its language. It is matter of respect.
You think that somebody is part of the Polonia sect, he/she is entitled to speak only Polish wherever he/she lives.

That is not a newspaper. Anyone employing Wildstein and pretending he is a journalist is a joke.
Btw why did you not mention "Nasz Dziennik" and "GP".? Because they reflect your views quite perfectly.

News / 1.3% birth rate = Poland's slow death [221]

So...should Poland only allow religious/Polonia/smolenkist movies to be shown? And do you think they will start spontaneously to produce kids because of this?

Perhaps the clergy...
In which century are you living?

So what kind of movies according to you the youth should be allowed to watch?
Religious documentaries?
I actually thought "Pretty Woman" to be a funny, warmhearted and positive-minded movie :)

You talk about Polonia like it is some kind of religion. Would it occur to you that 70% of the Poles (the ones not voting PIS) could find this a laughable idea?

But, from what I hear, many of the expats on PF speak halting, fractrued Polish if at all. The pot calling the kettle black?

But where does that leave you, living in fictitious Polonialand?

Please state why pop music, movies (the Western decadent kind of course) and PC games are responsible for the declining birth rates in Poland?
Maybe the reason is that people decided they do not want 5 kids anymore and 1/2 is enough?

Polonius3:
They were but a tiny fragment of the umbridled plunge into the consumerist pop culture that engulfed Poland after 1989

He for sure has a problem with pop music :) And has a penchant for the good old PRL times :)
So the best way to procreate in Poland is dancing mazurkas/polonaises, go to church and forget all evils of the modern world....
One could also become a priest...I refer to the brilliant Newsweek issue from some weeks ago...

Me too. And as for local Warsaw news, they cannot be beaten.
The rag nasz dziennik I sometimes "read" when I am in the supermarket waiting to pay. Always very entertaining.

It is a sense of healthy etnhic pride,

Meaning what exactly? This smells suspiciously of "Blut und Boden", and we all know where that lead to.
Which ethnic pride? The ethnic pride of the Smolenkists?
Of course this explains why you think Polonialandists should marry with one of their own...to keep the blood pure...

My wife for example is a true Góralka, family ancestry can be traced back 400 years. And you know what? She considers herself first of a all a Góralka, and then Polish. As do many Górale. How would you classify her?

And the Kaszuby, who have a distinct ethnicity, other language, but also are Polish?
The Lemkos and the Mazurians? Also non-Poles?

There are, I kid you not, expats who have been here for 10 years and still cannot speak Polish.

Yes that is true, I know one who lives here indeed 10 years and the only Polish word he knows is "piwo". Well...maybe not like that but for sure he is not able to do a normal conversation in Polish. Which for me is not only ignorance, but also shows a profound lack of disrespect for the country he is living in.

So what is according to you the connection between PC games and declining birthrates in Poland?
Because you still did not answer that one.

Btw, to know what RM thinks/says there is no need to listen to that crap. You can read "Nasz Dziennik" or "Gazeta Polska", it is the same.

I personally find computer games completely useless and cannot see the attraction...(but I am a bit oldfashioned), but what is the relation between declining birthrates in Poland and PC games?

Life / Under-river tube a mistake! Tunnel flood in Warsaw. [13]

And let us not forget who the bright spark was who decided on the location of the Powiśle metro station.
That was the PIS clone Marcinkiewicz who moved it from its original (and logical) location on ul. Dobra near BUW to under the Wisłostrady tunnels.

Which itself were put there by the first duck.

having a sense of Polishness'

Define "a sense of Polishness". The tvtrwam kind? The RP kind? The PO kind? The duck's kind?
My (Polish) wife is a journalist and votes PO since her birth I guess...And also immensely proud of her country. But according you her sense of Polishness would be nil.

I think foreigners living in Poland since a long time can have a pretty good idea what this country is about.
Of course the classic expat (and I know a few of these) who are here Mon to Fri, fly back to Brussels for the weekend, frequent the classic expat haunts....do not have an idea at all. And in this aspect I agree wit you. They could as well live in Toronto, Prague or Mumbai.

But I am talking here about foreigners who choose to live here permanently, many (such as me) having a Polish partner.

I can tell you as a comparison, that living more than 8 years in Poland, I also start to loose touch with everyday realities in Belgium. Sure, I watch Flemish TV, read Flemish papers online...I go home few times per year...but nevertheless I start to be out of touch with "the life on the ground"

News / Kaczyński presents alternative to PO thievery [26]

It shows his cultural/social level. I asked my wife about this and she tried to hit me with a very big spoon.
Nazis are still found on every level of society, though the Pol-Am twits are a special breed I see

Love / How would Polish people react to a forginer in Poland? [36]

and im really muscular what are my chances with girls? 18-30 year old polish chicks?:)

Do you think the girls falling for these criteria...would be ready to seriously romantically involved? If only the ****factor matters...well I guess any Warsaw club would do...

Not that I know this from experience - my Polish wife from many years would think you are competely daft. But what do I know what the hedonistic part of the city is doing ?

Indeed. Age doesn't always bring wisdom but frankly it usually does. Part of that is understanding that not everything is black and white and that there area no conspiracies, only people.

Then again, what is the average age of the Smolenkists :)))))

Me too. Or wait, even better it would be to see him doing shopping........ Funnier!

That would be very funny indeed. The guy does not know what a bank account is, or e-mail...Watching him "shopping" last year on TV was hilarious.

Hmmm...The IV RP minus "laptop" Ziobro...Meaning the time he was in PIS, spying on everybody sane in Poland...that was not good? Very curious :)

I also asked at work, and my colleagues thought of me being an alien, asking such daft questions.
They rather turned the question around...what kind of person you have to be to "work" for GP, RM or to vote for the Smolenkists.

But then, they all are from Warsaw and surroundings, had higher education, have no complexes about the past...so they have to be gay/liberal/pederasts/hopeless :))

These Polonia fellows have no clue how this country ticks. I have the pretension - living here over 10 years, Polish partner, 90% social circle Polish who live here - (but they all vote PO :) ) I studied history, have read all sensible books about Polish history published in English.

I experience everyday Polish life from the morning until the evening and I like it.
So...why should any Dmowskite fascist tell me my views are wrong?
