News / Poles in work-life balance crisis [22]

I was told that people here work and finish earlier so they can have quality time with their families or tend to their allotments.

Maybe its something to do with the rural population and farming. In Eire, the school summer holidays are much longer than Europe for this very reason.

On other point, I think the poorer the country and the higher the unemployment the more emplyers take the ****.

News / Poles in work-life balance crisis [22]

thenews.pl/9/7/Artykul/23890,Poles-in-worklife-balance-crisis

It's as easy to find a trash article on the internet stating the opposite.

Sean that's the Daily STAR, A paper for tits and sensationalism;that is trash for sure, what part of the article I have shown is trash..I just cut and paste, no personal comment. Just threw it up for discussion...

And once again Moderators will you change my name to Milky O Mark . So the local spammers can be confused
For me Sean, that article you showed there from one of the soft pûrn mags, serves the purpose of dis-information and distracts the British people from whats going on in their own country, in reality(Im sure you know the game bla bla bla),similar to the click of snarks here, who systematically divert all talk away from the harsh reality of Poland today.

News / Conservative-liberalism (Laissez-faire liberalism), another utopia for Poland? [99]

Guys like JkM may not get elected but they are the voice of industry and for this reason, his utopia has come through. I often wonder how people fall for such outdated failed sh1t that lunatics like him preach. The thing is, a lot of people think, that what they lived under during Sovietr times was communism and what ever is the opposite is the best for Poland. Rather than seeing the Soviet as nothing but an occupation by Russia. This idiosyncratic view point in the East of Europe, unless, it is dealt with rationally, will be the rope around their countries necks. The neo-liberal agenda is based on the philosophy of a thief hiding in diplomacy.

What happened the 'Third Way' lol..

News / Poles in work-life balance crisis [22]

As many as 42 percent of Poles sacrifice their private life by working extra hours and taking extra jobs, finds a new survey.

Poles are more hard-working than any other European nation.

Every forth Pole works overtime and almost the same number agrees to work on weekends or evenings.

News / Deepening of the neo-liberal model of market de-regulation in Poland [6]

Is this Shapiro coercion not identical to what the IMF said to SE Asia around 1999 when their economies started collapsing, from been an experiment for the west and their cheap money experiment. Didn't the IMF ask the Thai govenment to cut government spending, get rid of corruption and nepotism, in return for a massive rescue bail-out. Then look what happened...Its not because he loves Poland..

Is Shapiro thretening Poland here???

News / Deepening of the neo-liberal model of market de-regulation in Poland [6]

I watched the U Tube and it sounded like a piece of blackmail. I am not familiar with the Telecom case but the general pattern at the moment is pressure from global elites for a deepening of the neo-liberal model of market de-regulation.

The term they use is 'structural adjustment' which is the same that was used by the World Bank and the IMF to open up developing countries to foreign capital.

The main thing I got from the U Tube was that Shapiro was trying to align the Polish legal system with something akin to the American one. In other words that it should not offer any obstacle to the 'smooth' take over of private capital.

News / Conservative-liberalism (Laissez-faire liberalism), another utopia for Poland? [99]

the protection of private property is a must that can never be jeopardized.

From who,the Native Americans.

because none of us can secure all our needs on our own,

I thought it was all about the individual and that there is no such thing as society anymore.

The market itself is governed by nature's laws through a price mechanism.

LOl , this invisible hand nonsense,,Tell that to the people who died in the Irish(genocide) famine.

This makes it so it becomes very hard for any one company to make economic profits in the long run because of the increased competition.

nonsense

I hope for some insightful discussion concerning the information put forth in my defense of liberalism.

Life / Who is poor in Poland? [720]

Is it not normal to ask people what they think of your country. I know we always ask this question in Eire. I know a lot of Polish were offended back in 2004-5 when they asked Irish people what they thought of the them as a people. The answer was usually blank and if there was an answer, it was usually," is that the country Hitler invaded and started the war". The average person in Ireland knows nothing about Poland except maybe the Pope came from there; friends of mine were amazed when they heard that there were summers in Poland, they thought it had an eternal winter and everybody wore fur hats and coats all the time.

Even Mołosz(the writer) in Captive Mind speaks about Americans and how they can only name the core states of western Europe and when it goes East , it all become a blurr, and he was talking about pre WW2 Europe.

If someone ask you what you think of their country, for me it's a normal question but the Poles sometimes do have a major inferiority complex, sometime expressed through Slavic nationalism and other phony belief systems, beware of these people, they want to kick the **** out of your western arse.

News / Conservative-liberalism (Laissez-faire liberalism), another utopia for Poland? [99]

Well. Neoliberalism is more of a reaction against communisn, that was spawned during the Cold War. It's a flexed muscle with a paranod John Birch society brain. Some of Its theories are bases on paranoid schitzophrenics like John Nash. The reason it changes over the years is becaused its not philososphically grounded. In modern times, it has been justified by cowboys, such as the Chicago Boys and taken on board by pieces of sh1t like Regan and Thatcher. Its objective is the establishment of Dictatorships and the overthrowing of democratically elected governmennts under the guise of love and freedom. Its a theory that constantly evolves and tries to convince people that the more money one has, the better their outlook on life, and the world is.

However, in psychology, the area of personal responsibility, which has been covered in the books of Tomas Szasz and Co, are good reading and they throws sh1t on all those American self-help books; but as far as chronic individualism is concernd(and world economics) from Smith to Milton Friedman and Jeffrey Sachs,we would be still living in trees if humanity evolved their way.

From an historical Irish perspective, it is a system that 'logically' has to be despised, if one was to look back at the "so called famine" and a certain "scumbag Brit" called Charles Edward Trevelyan .

Real Estate / Poland's apartment prices continue to fall [1844]

are wages not going up ?

In the West??hell no.

one can't blame them for taking advantage.

I agree

not dropping in price.

yes they are..How much are the Golden members paying for those lies??
Warsaw's average apartment price is down 10% from the peak of Q2 2008, but in Wroclaw prices are 30% down, in Poznan 25% down, and in the Tri-City of Gdansk, Sopot and Gdynia, prices are 22% below their peaks.

Real Estate / Poland's apartment prices continue to fall [1844]

won't the good communications push the house price up

No, It will not. The prices In the cities will continue to fall until they reflect the wages of the Polish workers in Poland and its cities. The prices will not go up anywhere in Poland, they will just go down slower in Poor parts(lublin) were emigration to the west is very high. The wages in parts of the east are so low that people struggle to put petrol in their cars, never mind buying a property that has gone from 15000 euro to 50000 euro between 2004 and 2007.

"Good communication" will push nothing up,(although it will reduce road accidents and help deal with the imaginary third lane) as the West is in recession, and the "West" is what drove the prices up in the first place(as every jackass knows except for the developers on here who are "pretending" otherwise) as Poles went there in their millions and Westerners invested blindly in Polish , Hungarian property etc. For those looking for links to verify what I have said, "here you are", have a look, I have them written on my arse.

Life / Uptight Poles [262]

Society partly contributed to their addiction.

Especially during WW1 and WW2, and it (the wars)also caused a lot of alcohol addiction, as AA was set up at the same time to deal with (cover it up)it. AA helped to put the blame on the individual rather than society..(Bill and Bob)

Is that a comparative assessment, where is not in a bad way?

There is a world recession so it's bad all round but in Poland as far as I can see and talking to the people I know, the struggle to live a normal life with the basic requirments is much more intense.

No, constructive means you are showing your vision how the situation could be moved into positive direction.

So I guess you like to sit back and watch lots of Walt Disney movies after work.

Life / Who is poor in Poland? [720]

There's your answer. In a country with widespread free education available, anyone who doesn't even finish high school is always going to earn a pittance. The same, as in most countries.

Not so,,his brother who I mentioned before, had a job recently, in a Petrol station, he had to come back from Ireland because of family problems. He was on the same amount and he has a degree. I asked him why take such a sh1t paying job and he simply informed me that there is no work unless you want to work for 7 or less zloty an hour. This in against the law to pay below minumum wage and when I informed him of this, he just laughed. I guess the imaginary third lane on the road is against the laws well.

In the east of Poland I have spoke to a lot of people over the years, on well below 2 euro an hour. Poland is poor in the east for sure....

if people want to move abroad and try and find a better quality of life then fair play to them, but, its not only the poor who do this.

only about 95% move for economical reasons.

I thank God that people think that Poland is a poor country with no free handouts,

'think' hahah,...ulterior motives sing from your every word.
