Food / Miracle Whip availability in Poland? [43]

this is the one made in germany.

Yup, thats the one in Carrefore. Made in Germany you say? seems a bit illegal to call it Irish.

I get a half kilo of bacon every week at a local butchers in town called "Rolneck". They cut the rashers to the thickness I want, there is only a fine edge of fat on one side and the taste is better than I could get in England.

I get various type of bacon that make excellent bacon and they don't add water to them (for better or worse) .

USA, Canada / Living in Poland - prospects for Alabama guy ... need some advice! [146]

What would it take to flair up again? Look at the financial crisis, Europe is at each others throats again.

You are mixing up the Politicians and economists who are 'at each others throats' with the general public.

Europe is nothing like it was eighty years ago and some minor belt tightening on public spending isn't going to change that. In Poland the government is collecting more taxes, beating economic grow predictions and lowering inflation. They and the people have more and more each year, that hardly conducive to a civil breakdown. Unless the high level of house prices is taken into account, thats a big annoyance.

News / What should Poland do to solve the population crisis? [101]

the number of people leaving increases.

100k per year were arriving after ascension, if 31k over 2 years arrive, how is that an increase?

Do you think 100k is less than 31k???? last year the numbers fell into the negative.

Do you actually understand how to add up?

The increase has stopped

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Polish-born_people_in_employment_in_the_UK_2003-2010_-_chart_2369a_at_statistics_gov_uk.gif

The detailed figures based on the International Passenger Survey show 310,000 people left Britain to live abroad in the 12 months to September

UK population decimated..

News / What should Poland do to solve the population crisis? [101]

That's what **you** say... :)

Here we go with another "I can't do basic maths", "I don't read my own links, never mind understand them" thread

From your link

ONS statisticians said this was mainly due to an increase to 43,000 in net migration from Poland and other "A8" eastern European countries who joined the European Union seven years ago. The previous year had seen 12,000 more Poles and others going home than coming to work in the UK

So there has been a net migration to the UK of 31k over two years. To reduce Polands population by 8 million it would take 500 years

There is no evidence that this is a trend that will continue, even at this low rate, and the 12k reduction in the previous years could be the trend - reversing Polands population fall.

Poland can't even enforce the rules of the road, never mind standing up to the onslaught of the free-market pirates, and the neo-liberal establishment.

Provide some proof of your ridiculous statements and theories.

Food / Miracle Whip availability in Poland? [43]

Try Majonez Kielecki (Kielce Mayonnaise) similar in taste to Miracle Whip but better!

There is a version from this manufacturer with a mixture of yogurt and Mayonnaise for sale now.

I just give them a written list if i have anything complicated to buy (like a particular cut of meat). Shopping in self service stores is a breeze.

Although I've learnt most of the food words.

Oxford has quite a lot to recommend it : )

Its blindingly obvious that the UK would be very easy for both of you. 2 hours, £70-100 and you are in Poland.

Food / Miracle Whip availability in Poland? [43]

there is another one from Ireland. It has been here for at least 5 years.

In Warsaw, not here in Krakow, no chance. Capital cities are usually on a different planet from the rest of a country.

Cheddar .. yes. And don't forget Red Leicester! Available from a Real near you (or, at least, one in Trojmiasto).

Carrefore has just started selling a handful of English/Irish cheeses in Krakow. Apparently (not seen it yet) even Tesco has just discovered Cheddar.

It's still made the same way as Polish ser zolty so it won't grate properly and you have to be careful cooking with it but the main thing is that it actually has a bit of flavour. The danger is that it might prove to have too much flavour for the market here.

Its ultra mild, doesn't say where its made and its sliced. The Irish Cheddar in Carrefore is medium/mature 8 or 12 months and very good.

I'm still excited after barbecue sauce was discovered here, the wife loves it (smoked plum sauce).

All that great Polish food in Poland, and people want Heinz Salad Cream????? :)

Peopel want what they want. Polish food is ok, but not great. There are many foods you cannot get here, but it is improving. Today I found Cheddar Cheese in my local shop, for instance

News / Visegrad Battle Group under the command of Poland [261]

The UK and France (the majority of Western Europe's military forces) contribution would depend on delivery of the A400M tactical air-lifter. UK has increased its number of C-17's to 8, but the A400M will be the main method of supporting the Visigrad group.

All this talk has to take into account that Russia has 700+ fighter aircraft against Polands 50 to 70. So it would be a desperate defense at best and if Germany does nothing probably hopeless.

USA, Canada / Would like to move back to Poland from New York after living in USA for 20 years. [155]

Life-changing experience, nourishment for the soul, connecting with yer roots, all that crap. I say go for it.

I agree, if your personality is a happy go lucky, positive thinking. Make sure you have a fallback option if you want to go back. I did it and haven't regretted it a minute.

However, if you you can't stand the idea of food thats isn't quite the same and TV that is not quite the same and not being exactly the same as the USA and not everybody speaking American English then stay where you are.

News / Forbes: Boot Argentina from the G20 and include Poland [44]

no ex ussr block country as a member listed?

Except Russia.

i mean what has poland to offer, seriously, to be put in the g20? it is a prosperous country, yes ok, but as so many others in the eu or on the global level in the shadow of others...

Its the 19/20th biggest economy and the G-20 is a group of the 20 biggest economies. So it seems pretty logical to include Poland as opposed to Argentina which only there as a courtesy, with its much smaller economy and total disregard for fundamental trading principles and international/common law.

Why the **** should a country that stops imports for overseas, violates WTO rules repeatedly, doesn't qualify as a 20 biggest economy and steals foreigners assets be given membership of an international trade organization?

zero arguments,

Your 'expert' source is for legalizing cannabis, its on the front page, if you actually looked. If the political discussion includes a preference for drugs, they should expect comments about it.

And what you are smoking, apparently. If you want to believe that Argentina is anything but a joke, feel free. History will work itself out.

News / Poland's Economy Is Booming! The EU's Success Story? [711]

yes, thats why they chase foreign investments...what kind of logic is that?

That sums up your understanding of the realities of economics. I'm getting a impression that you are a real commie, dope smoking, hippy.

Fair enough, but that economic model doesn't work. Look at the two ex-communist countries China and Russia.

if that figure is correct, what i doubt because there is no proof, it not too bad i'd say. mr o would like that now...

Go read the BA Herald where the figures come from.

No point discussing this if you are going to make guesses about it without reading up first.

he language, the way you will feel inconvenienced, the utter lack of sports...(I hope you really really really like soccer, volleybal and handball because you can kiss baseball, basketball, football, hockey goodbye, excluding internet type methods which gets old fast).....I mean....I could write a book because I lived there for 4 years and know what the adjustments are like.

I guess it depends on who you are. I moved from the UK and sure I miss a lot of things but it don't bother me in the slightest. Getting sports via the internet is a deal breaker...wow.

maybe you should make a compromise with your wife, Germany has a lot of Americans, pay is good and its next to Poland. Failing that, Warsaw is the best place for expats.

News / Poland's Economy Is Booming! The EU's Success Story? [711]

Old enough to be your dad, long enough in business to kick your hairy butt... :)

Under 20? It was a serious question, not an insult.

with your theory poland is the ONLY country where the economy booms? right? bail out greece, spain, ireland, hungaryn struggles, slovakia, netherlands are so so same like france etc.

Polands economic growth is irrelevant to other countries growth and employment rate. This thread is about Poland.

Poland's wages are low and unemployment are high; thats perfect for growth. If you are coming here looking for a high paid job, you don't are missing the point...

No disappointment at all, centuries pressing from the genome are all that matters ; )

a measure that is popular at home

It is supported by 65%.

Kirchner has her bought voters who will support her in any criminal activity she wants. This is often schemes to rob the middle classes, farmers, business to line her and her friends pockets.

buenosairesherald.com

Argentinians are always terrified of imminent economic disaster, any moment they can steal your money by seizing the bank accounts... again. This is why you can't buy dollars or other foreign currency, to stop people hiding it from the government,

Quickest but still useless. Welfare of society is not just about economic prosperity.

True, but when talking about economic issues is the global standard to determine size and growth. People living hunter-gathering lifestyles maybe very happy but they have no influence on economic development/war.

so they are then nothing better than the yankees who extincted a whole population.

The are as bad as the Yankees when it comes to empire building, genocide and land grabbing. In 1981 they were withing hours off invading Chile, the intension was to steal land and resources through force; they only stopped when the Americans warned them they would not defeat Chile.

there are always people who complain, probably the same ones who would like to crawl in on NA arseee... ;)

You have no idea how bad Argentina is.

take that out on the people in argentina and by pointing the finger

The people, the society is the problem, so yes I will point a finger at them. Their politicians are thieves and scum, just like the people.

inlike you i am a critical thinker and dont follow what some mainstream media offers.

nope, you are a parrot for the Kremlin

does not explain anything. that guy/link is subjective. other person, other view. how come besides the outside/west people in argentina did not complain? as far as i remember their president is highly respected. dont give western bs here.

People complain a lot about the Kirchner's gangsterism within Argentina. Go and read up about the country's history before coming to any conclusion.

Start with the fact that Argentina is almost 100% Spanish and Italian only going back a generation, they consider themselves white men, the indigenous population were exterminated. They are westerners. Like you, stop with the (fake) moral superiority, as a German you are as guilty as any other Westerner, your BS is western BS, isn't it?
