News / MORE ANTI-POLISH SENTIMENT IN GERMANY [280]

No wonder Germans/Brits/Jews/Amis/Russians and everybody else doesn't like you....and I really tried. No more defending Poles by me...

BB, one thing that I absolutely must stress.

People like MediaWatch and the others aren't Poles, they're actually Polacks. Polacks are of uncertain Slavic origin, who emigrated to the USA around 1900 or so - usually you can tell a real Polack by the fact that they're from peasant origin from around the Polish/Ukrainian borderland.

Real Polish people, like the people I work and socialise with are most definitely nothing like dumb racist Polacks - in fact, they're among the most self depreciating people I know.

Sadly, dumb American Polacks seem hell bent on causing as much trouble as possible for real Poles.

Law / Polish passport renewal - is PESEL required? [8]

If it were up to me, you wouldn't get one until you could demostrate that you can write Polish correctly.

Wow. We agree?

I do wonder why Poland isn't restricting citizenship to only those who have a certain level of proficiency in Polish?

News / Polish journalist charged with insulting Belarusian President [16]

A correspondent for the Polish daily Gazeta Wyborcza has been charged with insulting Belarusian president Aleksander Lukashenko.

The current charges are based on ten articles published in the Gazeta Wyborcza daily, later disseminated through a Belarusian dissident website.

Sad. Insulting the President should be a national right, as it is in most countries.

News / Anti semtism at Polish Congress [57]

Anti-Semitic remarks have cast a shadow over the Congress of the Union of Polish Associations and Organizations in Latin America (USOPAL), organized by far-right businessman Jan Kobylanski.

"There isn't even 30 percent of genuine Poles in the Polish government. I hope this will change," Jan Kobylanski told the ultra-conservative Radio Maryja.

"We've a genuine Judeo-Polonia. Poland for Poles. A minority group cannot rule our country," said Tadeusz Wasiak, who Kobylanski wants to be Poland's president.

Five Polish MPs, members of the opposition Law and Justice party, a nuncio in Uruguay and several bishops participated in the congress but no one responded to the anti-Semitic statements, it is being reported.

Funnily enough - people are quick to scream when people say bad things about Poland, but when Poles say bad things about others, everyone's quiet....funny, that. On the other hand - I'm thankful that this kind of behaviour doesn't represent the vast majority of ordinary Poles.

As for all the Polish Americans? Perhaps you shouldn't throw stones when you're standing in glass houses.

that's why they'll never ban him for anti-Polish filth like that.

It's not anti-Polish. It's anti-Polack, which is defined as being "sub-human racist dumb scum from America of Slavic peasant origins".

Mind you, he wouldn't dare say his usual stuff to a Pole's face either, it's easy to be a tough Pole-hater online!

Polacks are not Poles, so get off your high horse.

Someone should start realpolishforums.com instead, where all the P*kis/Arabs/Delphi etc who come on to troll and post anti-Polish hatred get banned, and we could write in Polish as much as we like - and no Pol-Am mod would tell us us what to do! Oh, except, I forgot - there's enough sites where that happens already, but the "expats" prefer the first option in Google, obviously. Fortunately I'm not one of those lol

You forget one thing : Polacks can't write in Polish.

UK, Ireland / British going bankrupt in Poland? [22]

Polish law is much better than British law in this respect - there's no hiding from your debts here.

Bankruptcy is something that's treated as very serious and no laughing matter, unlike the UK system.

News / MORE ANTI-POLISH SENTIMENT IN GERMANY [280]

The Polish actor would probably take any role. How clever of the evil german media- use a Polish actor to mock the Poles. I guess they're off the hook. They're condoning racist, crude humour!

Nice of you to say that all Poles are prostitutes for German money.

Anyways, you dumb germans would live in filth and die out without the Poles coming to your country, work and keep your economy afloat. Sleep on that you fat, bratwurst eating basterd.

See, dumbass, if you had any brains whatever instead of just being a plain old Dumb Polack - you'd know that Poles are currently restricted from working in Germany without a work permit.

Yet again - you prove the stereotype to be true - Polacks ARE dumb.

You should try some of these polish jokes...really fitting in your case! :):):)

Talk about being over sensitive to a cause that he knows nothing about!

One current joke about Germany involves the way that they seem to rely on Polish football players ;)

Life / Cost of living in Wroclaw (rent price too) [119]

How much do I need to life an "average" life with a Car, own Place close to the City, going out for Dinner etc.

For a foreigner who wants to live as a foreigner? About 10k brutto. That would leave you with about 7k netto, which would be about the minimum to do everything you want. However, 12-13k brutto would be more comfortable.

My opinion is that if you want to live comfortably in a Polish city, then about 7000zl netto is needed.

Of course, you can live with much less - but then you won't be running a car, having some sort of servant, etc.

News / MORE ANTI-POLISH SENTIMENT IN GERMANY [280]

I told u a zillion times, Polack is an derogatory term for all Poles not just Polish Americans, actually especially Poles in Poland or ones who recently came to the States.

I'm claiming it as an offensive word to describe plastic Poles in America. It's not aimed at real Poles, nor is it aimed at the decent Poles who go to America for a better life - it's solely used to describe those that wouldn't do a damned thing for Poland.

If you called me this to my face you would be swallowing your rotten British teeth.

Sure. Easy to say on the internet, tough Polack.

Then again, it's a hallmark of being a Polack - you sit around, whine and complain about alleged insults, yet when it comes to actually getting off your ass and helping Poland - naaah. Too difficult.

There is nothing wrong with poking fun at other nations ... nothing at all.

Exactly. We have a stereotype of the Dutch all being sex crazed monsters who ride bikes and stick their thumbs in dikes while wearing clogs. Heck, even one guy named his flat the "Lothar Mattheus" flat in order to make sure that Dutch people didn't visit!

Typical dumb patriotic (to America) Polack talk.

Frankly, we don't need idiotic Americans stirring up trouble between us - we're perfectly capable of mocking and insulting each other without your help.

In America it's different, ethnic jokes are a no no.

It's fair enough - if Americans want to have uber political correctness and not even risk making fun out of anyone, that's fine by them.

But keep the **** out of European affairs - we're not interested in petty inner American rivalries between Jews, Polacks and so on.

Law / Does Poland have the most prehistorical and strictest banking system in the world? [57]

In US it takes 0-4 days to cash a check.

I have my doubts that any American bank would cash a European cheque within 0-4 days.

I mean, what kind of backwards system charges $30 to cash a cheque?

The American system, that's what - fatwallet.com/forums/finance/814862/

Oh look - the same system charges even $50 to cash a 50 pounds check!

Who's backwards now, boy?

Law / The monopolisation of Polands precious food industry [15]

What would be good in Poland would be the introduction of local co-operative distilleries. Local people bring their fruit and get a percentage of it back as alcohol, it works very well in Germany and France.

We all know the local alcoholics would just steal the fruit from people's trees ;)

You should be put in an oven. Can somebody kick this guy off the site?

What's that, dumb racist Polack?

This preciousness must be a POLAM thing.

Definitely seems to be - the Poles I know laughed at the jokes and made comments about going to steal their jobs come May 1st.

Polish Americans, or more accurately, Polacks seem to be rather defensive. Could it be because they're actually of uncertain Slavic peasant origin and not Polish at all? Seems to be so.

we all know beef taste sucks in Poland its also tough as old army boots, let it stand!

I found some very good beef in a local meat shop a while ago, but that was very much a one off.

Law / Motorcycle Polish drivers license? [37]

The license won't be issued until after 185 days of legal residency. A 3 month visa isn't enough - you need to have at least 1 year of legal residency in order to qualify.

Beware also, that many Poles fail the practical B license exam quite a lot of times beforse passing it.

I passed first time, as a foreigner :)

It's common in Poland to fail one day and try again the day after.

Common where? There's usually about a 3 week wait for another exam date.

Law / Does Poland have the most prehistorical and strictest banking system in the world? [57]

6-8 weeks is insane by civilized Europe standards, in UK you cash an US check in 2-3 days usually.

What the UK banks will be doing will be taking risks on whether or not the cheque is valid.

Polish banks, being far more prudent, will send the cheque to the US to be verified after conducting checks of their own. Perfectly fair and reasonable - after all, in a country where bank transfers are king - who the hell uses cheques?

Incidentally, if you're being paid by an American company by cheque, I assume you're not paying taxes here, nor are you legally resident.

Law / Motorcycle Polish drivers license? [37]

- Can i take driver licence with 3 months visa or do i need a social security number to

Forget it. You must be resident in Poland for at least 185 days before getting the driving licence in accordance with Polish law. They simply will not issue it without proof of legal residency for at least 185 days.

I'd say Polish-German relationships are just fine.

It's only dumb Polacks (who aren't Polish, but who are definitely sub-human) who are getting offended by this, as per usual.

Life / Where's the Polish clipart? [8]

But sometimes such low-brow decorations are needed as when a Polonian organisation is holding a Polish Easter pageant or banquet and would like to embellish its printed invitations, posters and information leaflets with something seasonally and ethnically appropriate.

Then the answer is simple - they should make it.

Of course, that involves effort for little reward, something that the Polacks aren't familiar with.

Life / A little over $10,000 and wanting to move to Poland ... any tips?? [18]

Indeed, and if you stay more than 3 months and get caught (easy enough, the police will always check your documents if stopped for some reason) without a residency permit, it's an instant 1 year ban.

Ukraine used to be an option, but now that they've introduced the 90/180 rule and raised the maximum fine up to 3500 hryvina for overstaying, it's no longer one.

History / Poland paid off American Jewry in 1960 [162]

Please do, mr d you think you know everything but actually know nothing

Shall we start with the case of the high school in Poznan and follow it up with the case of the land by Lake Malta?

Those two claims alone are going to cost the Polish nation over 100 million zloty. Who gets the money? The Catholic Church, of course.

the fact remains that non jews are not given the same treatment in claiming land than those owned by the Jew, there are currently approx 80,000 claims by the jews being processed and the government is not in the position to act due to funding problems.

What utter unsubstantiated rubbish.

The fact remains that the RCC has systematically and criminally looted the Polish state since 1989. Unlike you, I can back this up with hard facts.
