News / What is the population of Poland's non-european minority? [142]

It doesnt work, look at England, it has failed

Well I've heard other English people say they like multiculturalism.

I live in America and believe me when I say we are a hell of a lot more multicultural and diverse than any European country. Nothing in regard to that has failed here.

Europeans introduced technology, infrastructure, etc. but unfortunately the africans couldn't adapt, like like the natives in north america.

At the same time they raped their culture, instigated tribal conflicts, and oppressed the natives. Please think before you state something.

Cos you are trolling like fu*k.....

Or perhaps it's because this forum is about Poland and not Africa or some other area. I understand this disturbs you though and it's clearly because you have some racist feelings hidden inside.

That's pretty much a myth. Usually there's at least as much local dysfunction to blame. One partial exception might be Congo (Belgium was the worst colonizer period, no question about it) but the local system is still screwed up enough that it remains a hopeless mess without European meddling.

No, it's not. European colonialism did a lot of damage. Many times poor/destructive leadership came into power BECAUSE of European colonialism.

Hell there isn't much diversity in most cities in the world yet you only seem to have a problem with having a white europe.

Ultimately, I'd like every country to be diverse. However, there's not much of an incentive for people to move to 3rd world areas as European colonialism has ruined many of these places. I know it's hard for white people to admit the faults of their ancestors but it's true that white colonization and destruction of other cultures has lead to an unstable world. Europe benefited economically from the situation.

So I hope you understand now why I tend to talk more about immigration to Europe. There's a lot of incentives for non-white immigrants to come to Europe whereas the same cannot be said for white Americans/Europeans since very few people want to move to a 3rd world country.

Poland needs more racial diversity. It's 2012 and many European countries still have a white population percentage of 90+. That's quite frightening really considering we live in such a globalized world now.

I'm glad to be living in America where racial/ethnic diversity is very much real here. Something needs to be done to have Europe more diverse like America.

News / More anti Polish sentiment in western media ("Apple is worth more than Poland") [110]

That is not the point you insignificant moron. Which of these groups is still portrayed like this, like Poles and Slavs are?

Polish jokes are not popular anymore. I never hear anything about other Slavs in the media.

Italians however are constantly portrayed as being involved in organized crime. Chinese and other Asians are consistently stereotyped as having small dicks. Just watch South Park...

America has for many decades portrayed Slavs in a racist and negative light, in movies, news, all sorts of media and that is a fact.

Quit making up bullshit. There was a fear of the Soviet Union here at one point but It wasn't because they were Slavic. It was because they had thousands of nukes and they even provided some to Cuba.

I live in a diverse and multicultural country and I personally love it here.

Given that this site is known for having racists and anti-Semites, I am not surprised to see so many ignorant people in opposition. This site is honestly starting to look like another Stormfront. I feel embarrassed being a registered member here.

Work / My friend is looking for a job in Poland with a physics degree [32]

I don't know about Poland, but you'd be surprised at what kind of jobs you can get with a physics degree in America.

It's not rare to find physics majors working as "engineers" here in the US.

CalTech has a great reputation in the US, even better than MIT in some areas, but that doesn't cross the pond in most areas.

That's really unfortunate because there are a lot of schools in the US that are way ahead of anything in Poland. (MIT, Harvard, Yale, CalTech, Georgetown, UC Berkley, Columbia, Brown, Stanford, and the list goes on)

He should think twice about this idea.

However, one thing that separates him from Poles with physics degrees is that he studied at a very prestigious school. I don't think any Polish schools come close to CalTech. He's had no trouble whatsoever finding a good-paying job in America.

One of my buddies wants to move to Europe. He has considered Poland and Germany as his choices of residence. He has a B.Sc in physics from CalTech (A very good American school). His grandfather taught him some Polish. He also has a strong computer programming background.

With these noted skills, is it feasible for him to try to look for a non-teaching job with his physics degree in Poland?
