Law / British managers superior to Polish [52]

Isn't it the rule which applies to every single country? If I dare say something wrong about Britain, then I will be severely abused. It works in every country.

Not quite. I seem to remember a thread on welcoming Poles to benefit Britain where Brits in Britain on this site started in on how crap England is (and not because of Poles being here).

Love / Anglo-bride at left? Polish bride at right? [9]

An English custom as well once upon a time. It was done to avoid people emptying chamber pots out onto the streets. Not quite so gallant.

News / What is the population of Poland's non-european minority? [142]

Replace 3rd world with 2nd world and you's have it right if you need to stick with your arcane terminology.

Why don't you want more diversity in japan or Israel? Why don't these countries want 3rd world immigrants???

What is it about the UK says about Poles here in the UK again? Oh that's right

only cause problems: decrease property value, dirtiness/disorganization, milk the welfare system, refuse to integrate, increase crime, etc.

News / About fifty injured after two trains collide in Poland [73]

some things can be ruled out instantly pal - just by the sight - a engine driver cannot intentionally derail a train

Scheduled engineering works were taking place on one track at Szczekociny station at the time of the accident.
The Krakow train was on the wrong track, Andrzej Pawlowski, a member of the board of the state railway company PKP, told the TV station TVN24

bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-17248735

Fourteen people were killed and at least 54 injured when two trains collided head-on in one of Poland's worst train crashes in several years.

Work / My friend is looking for a job in Poland with a physics degree [32]

Companies like Deloitte, Credit Suisse etc have their staff made from top unis like Cambridge Maths and Physics degrees a B.A from Cambridge in that and you'll still be looked down on by PHDs. Brownian eqations and derivatives go hand in hand. If you went in with a degree in microbiology and asked for a job they'd laugh in your face. Retail banking (loans, mortgages, savings account) any half arsed degree can get you in.

UK, Ireland / WHAT IS IT ABOUT POLISH PEOPLE THAT MAKES THEM THINK THAT UK WANTS THEM? [309]

Britain has been hi jacked...get it through your tiny heads.

By the Polish? There is 5 million permanent residents from India/Pakistan, Somalia, West Indies another 5 million who are Irish or cash in hand pikeys and permanent. How are a million in turnover taking temp jobs with no power or influence a hi-jacking? I'll use the labour for the same reasons everyone else does, the reason Poles are solvent.

UK, Ireland / WHAT IS IT ABOUT POLISH PEOPLE THAT MAKES THEM THINK THAT UK WANTS THEM? [309]

From the Institute of Public Affairs,2010

Almost all Britons unanimously accept tourist travel to the UK by Poles and have nothing against Poles as neighbours or friends. What is more, Britons accept Poles as family members. One third of interviewees do not want Poles to settle for good in Britain. Britons perceive the short term presence of Poles in UK (economic migration) much more positively than their settling down for good and participating in social and political life

The typical Polish migrant is an unqualified worker - over 75% of respondents expressed such an opinion. What's more, not only do they undertake the most difficult jobs, but they also do them conscientiously and well: their work is highly regarded by employers. On the other hand, however, this conscientious and cheap worker is taking work from Britons - so say almost 60% of respondents. At the same time, nearly 70% of British employers are satisfied with Poles' work

On balance, the presence of Poles in the United Kingdom is viewed positively: over half of Britons consider that opening of the labour market to Poles was the right decision, with one third of Britons strongly agreeing with this statement.

Poles are well-liked by the British in personal relations and accepted as members of British society

If it makes you feel better, I hate the limey, pale p r i cks.

Stop sucking them then! Or at least vary the flavour of the condoms...orange...cherry...even chocolate if you tire of citrus.

Actually, on a per capita basis, white britons are the least reliant on welfare compared to other ethnic groups in the UK

I thought you were on his side. You are making him appear to be an even bigger failure by telling him that.

Genealogy / Help finding info about Naliborski [23]

A cousin of mine told me his Grandfather (or could have been his GGF) immigrated into the US from Portugal and took the opportunity to knock five years of his age.

The pics of Asians and Blacks are hard hitting but what you don't see much of is the amount of Poles, Latvians, Lithuanians, etc because they can blend in more easily. Mother and father pushing prams at 11:00am in the town centres says only one thing to me and it isn't that the father is on his days off or on shift work.

I'm not sure now if you are claiming they have taken your job or your bennies. I'd be interested in seeing your photos.

News / EU Predicts Poland's Economy Will Expand at Bloc's Fastest Pace This Year [37]

An important question - I'm wondering whether to change a certain (not small) amount of money from GBP to PLN or not.

My own opinion (insert usual disclaimer about predcitions and speculations here) would be to change up. It's hit a resistance point from last August and so 'may' bounce off it plus the line I have drwn in red from the past two weeks. As wil as a well known 'Fibonacci' retracement. Though wait for the turn up as it could break straight through. The pound is relatively weak at the moment against the Euro considering political news.

It a EURPLN chart for this year attached but as a bigger pot it tends to react to EUR more than GBP technically.
My magic 8 ball says, ' It would not be a bad thing'.

UK, Ireland / Can I as a Polish student here in UK start my own business? [8]

Yes. If you mean a limited company for liability purposes you have to register with Companies House, if you are thinking big. Otherwise which is much easier go with self-employment and register with hmrc.gov.uk/businesses/tmastarting-up-in-business.shtml, a useful resource

News / Should countries be boycotted for offending Poles? [60]

My 17 year old son who has just qualified as a bricklayer can't find a job due to Polish immigration. How is he supposed to compete with a 24 year old who comes here for a couple years and does it for half the price from gdansk?

He only lasted one year of education after GCSEs? If you can call bricklaying an education. He's a mimimum wage lackey anyway. There are always jobs in Sainsbury's and Tesco's. I feel pity for him though, not even having a clue that since the recession there isn't many buildings going up or properties being bought.

News / Becoming non-EUnuch -> giving up your share of handouts. [36]

I read in the WBJ today that Poland are chipping in 6 billion euros to the IMF.

EU money isn't about handouts/charity: it's strictly business. The monies moved by governments is for infrastructure dependent on private business, corporations and individuals investing in Poland or expected to be invested.
