UK, Ireland / Do Poles and EU Citizens exploit the British welfare state [129]

well let's think about this.....what about the cheap labor they provide?

That's the whole problem, illegal immigrants undercut the wage scale. It affects the Middle Class and most importantly the poor, who compete for the same jobs.

like they get rewarded for breaking the law...

Another problem, breaking the law. Mexico has virtually the same Constitution as the United States, but in Mexico no one believes it. They don't believe in civil law. That's why they are Third World.

Life / How could things have gone so wrong (Poland church dress code) [195]

well, you shouldn't be wearing shorts to church....

What Catholic church do you go to? In the States in the summer just about everybody where's shorts to the Catholic Church. It's the Protestant churches that are more dress conscious.

The Pharisees believed this, during times of fasting they would paint their faces white to show everyone they fast. Christ heavily criticised this. Did he have a right to do it??? Christ didnt like it and he spoke out about it. Nobody forced Christ to teach against the Pharisees, he chose to do it.

Pharisees in the Bible are Christ's criticism of organized religion.

News / Poland's Lost Generation [172]

Quote

Poland's lost generation?? What is this supposed to mean? You can't just leave out a generation.

Warszawski is referring to the fact that Poland is losing it's best and brightest to a Brain Drain. And Havok is insisting that the Brain Drain is occurring due to Poland's Social and Cultural system of not allowing people to succeed. From the posts I think that the problem is elitism. Only certain people are allowed to succeed, kinda like the British Class System with a Polish twist. Again what I gleam from the posts is unlike the British Class System with it's birthright, in Poland we have elitism based on good grades in school.

To add my two cents to the melee' (and it's only two cents), Poland cannot expect to build a successful society on cheap wages. The General Population needs disposable income to help drive the economy annnnd success has to be open to all regardless of social standing or education. Or...it won't work and you'll continue to see a "Brain Drain". Most billionaires in the USofA are college dropouts (Microsoft Bill Gates,Apple's Steve Jobs, Facebook's Marc Zuckerberg, etc.).

News / Poland's Lost Generation [172]

You are at conflict with yourself over your identity.

America is inclusive not exclusive. Don't confuse us with England. If immigrants wish to assimilate, it's up to them.

History / Why did communism in Poland fail? [180]

So why did communism fail?

Communism is based on the theory that money is the root of all evil. If money is the root of all evil, communism would have succeeded.

News / US air base to be in Poland [193]

America needs drastic changes and it's only possible with more discipline. You don't need to agree with me.

Yes, it needs to bring back its manufacturing and its soldiers from overseas and that will balance the budget. We need to get back to what we were before WWII. Right now our Army is the Army of the Globalist banking class. We have no business in Afghanistan or Iraq or Europe or Japan. Enough is enough.

News / US air base to be in Poland [193]

More jobs in the entire area wherever the post will be. Do you already know where in Poland?

America needs jobs. We can no longer afford these overseas military bases. What are they, up to 800? This is where our deficit is, it's not in the social entitlements it's in these foreign military bases and defense contracts.

Petraeus for president!!!

We need discipline here.

You want discipline? You're living in the wrong country. America has never been disciplined, nor has it had a disciplined army. Germany is disciplined. Move to Germany if you want discipline.

Life / An example of what is wrong with Poland (fatal traffic accident and a tram) [55]

all they had to do was take some photos, mark the road where the wheels of the tram were.

What is the reputation of Warsaw cops?

Since I've done these in the past (accident surveys) Wroclaw and F-Stop are correct, in the US traffic is re-routed virtually immediately while the investigation goes on. The courts aren't unreasonable, they'll allow for the tram to move 30 feet to facilitate traffic in spite of the fact it may complicate some of the evidence.

Law / America takes leading investor spot in Poland [51]

LV has some fanastic real estate deals available, especially for retired folks. Unless you plan to byo job.

I think he was looking for investment property so he'd only be there part time at most, but yes, the recession hit hard but an enterprising bloke can still make it out there.

Love that city New York also,

But it's not America

Law / America takes leading investor spot in Poland [51]

One thing I’ve noticed is that usually just couple miles down the road one encounters a totally different world in the US, a contrast so pronounced that even a blind man can see, perhaps you should get out more and see all those American Kiosks.

You know what freedom means? It means freedom to fail.

Maybe in Chicago or in one of the big cities but not where America is still more or less America

Chicago is the most American of America's big cities.

On a different note i was checking out some US investment properties the other day and once i zoomed in with street view it looked like a friggen WWIII zone. Real scum areas.

Investment real estate in the US? Las Vegas has the best deals. It's where an English Bloke like you would be most happy.

I have an idea why you're so negative about everything American but there's no reason to talk about it since it won't change anything on both sides anyway.

You're too sensitive.

Law / WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF THE EURO CURRENCY TO POLAND? [101]

Very slow working democracy is a useless democracy.

That is democracy

Euro means that you participate in the benefits from german exports while on the same time a Schweinsteiger sodomizes your ass.

Euro is Deutsch mark in disguise. No benefit for Poland. Poland should leave Euro and get investment from Switzerland, USA, Norway, etc. Stay independent of Germany and Russia.

Law / WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF THE EURO CURRENCY TO POLAND? [101]

Something like that BB

Globalization. One World government, one world religion (Roman Catholicism), one currency, one corporate state. In order to do this they must destroy US of A first (it's the boulder in the way).

News / Which modern developments harm Poland? [83]

I think people are better off now than they used to be.

But the topic of the thread does not ask that particular question.

You misunderstood the answer. I wasn't referring to material well being. People are no more moral or immoral than they have ever been.

As Martin Luther put it: "Money is the word of the Devil, through which he creates everything in the world, just as God creates through the true word"

Money is not the root of all evil, if it was Communism would have succeeded.

Genealogy / Where is Borchersdorf, Germany, and Kal, Austria? [16]

Yeah, my gut feeling is that these are probably Polish or near Polish border towns that have had their name changed. Thanks for the help, it's appreciated.

Genealogy / Where is Borchersdorf, Germany, and Kal, Austria? [16]

Hi everybody, I am doing a genealogy search and two towns came up: Kal, Austria and Borchersdorf, Germany. I have a hunch that these names don't exist anymore and they have been changed to something else. Does anyone know what they are and where are they? Thanks.

Law / The risk of investing in Europe has risen and Poland has suffered accordingly [90]

I assume you mean Britain. Not that the economy's been "constricted".

Poland has to avoid becoming another Portugal or Ireland. German and French banks raided the Irish treasury and now they laid it at the feet of the Irish tax payer. No way they can pay that back. Iceland on the other hand limited the debt to the banks where it belonged. And they have their own currency...

Poland is in treacherous waters. They too can fall victim to German banks. Poland needs to become independent of Germany and Russia, not easy but doable. First order of business, avoid the Euro.

News / Which modern developments harm Poland? [83]

Which modern developments, practices or phenomena in Poland or your home country do you regard as negative? Why? What is the alternative? For instance workaholism, Internet addiction, atomised families, environamental destruction, megabureacratic governments, etc.

None. Poland has nothing to gain by isolating itself. It's been isolated for too long.

Pope John Paul II warned that the great danger facing the West, including Poland, after the fall of communism would be consumerism.

Consumerism is not immoral. More tripe from the Roman Catholic Church promoting poverty. It's all designed to keep the Rich Rich, and keep the rest of us poor.

Yes. Check out the Amish/Plain People stuff on another thread. They get by without all that crap and are probably happier and much richer in themselves for it.

There's been a couple of books about the Amish written recently by ex-Amish. No more happier than the rest of us. "Nostalgia for the Dirt" is just that.

What do you think?

What do i think? Bloody nonsense. People are no better no worse than they used to be. My father's generation didn't speak to the kids. This has changed, finally.

Law / Is it possible to open a home based bakery in Poland? [14]

Do I have to register it as a small (tiny lol)company?

Just do it. You'll be successful if you stick to it and don't bail. Businesses fail because the owners lack commitment.

News / Poland building an empire (instead of a nation)? [67]

Poland is making the same mistake it made in the 1920's-30's, getting in border disputes with all it's neighbor's. By 1939 it wasn't just Germany that invaded Poland it was Russia, Slovakia, Ukraine, Czechs. All of its neighbors piled in. Belorussian domestic politics is none of Poland's business. Poland should Butt out.

News / Poland building an empire (instead of a nation)? [67]

Hmmmm, how did you get all this:

CP - there's no such thing as knowing too much of your history! That's like saying being too smart is bad for your acne.

Out of this:

The Political Class in Poland needs to keep their focus on Poland, ya know stuff like 12% unemployment, infrastructure, energy issues, public debt, etc. This ain't 1500, it's the 21st century.

News / Poland building an empire (instead of a nation)? [67]

They can't because unlike you most Poles know their history.

Exactly, that's my whole point they can't leave their history (they know it too well). They already have a military alliance with NATO. Lithuania and Ukraine aren't even in NATO. And they're raising money for Belarus's political opposition. And what happens next, Polish trucks are lined up at the border. Not Good. The Political Class in Poland needs to keep their focus on Poland, ya know stuff like 12% unemployment, infrastructure, energy issues, public debt, etc. This ain't 1500, it's the 21st century.

Poland losing its focus on building a nation. Now it wants a military alliance with Ukraine and Lithuania. They can't leave the past.

Poland and Ukraine should speed up works on the creation of a Polish-Ukrainian-Lithuanian military brigade, Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski told a press conference after his meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Viktor Yanukovych Thursday in Warsaw.

Bankruptcy is no big deal, you just rearrange your debts. And as for China, they have bigger economic problems than you think.

Love / Nature of Poles - the relationship of Polish families [7]

What is the relationship of Polish families?

There's a lot of stuff on this forum about Polish life (relationships, marriage; every day life, etc.).
Look it up on old threads, that will reveal a lot.

News / Poland goes bankrupt? [110]

The only people who are not bankrupt are tribes that are still living in the stone age. They are lucky, they haven't had the rothchilds, rockefellars, clintons, bushes, obamas, Mubaraks and all other corrupt dictators to ruin their society.

They just have to worry about getting killed by the neighboring tribe.

It's like the fellow who moved to the wilds of Alaska to live off the land..."gotta get that moose".
