History / Why did communism in Poland fail? [180]

Name of Soviets were "International" Socialism etc. This "internationalism" concept attracted ordinary workers of the world in the past. Good concept. But, they were not aware of that Soviet center was in their control of Russian nationalists who had used these concepts to make Russia a superpower starting 1930. We can see this in inequalities in Soviets lands between Russia and other states during Soviet times, also later, post-Soviet times. So, actually, Soviets were not different than any feudal country in a-socialist countries. Still, Soviets could be given a chance, but, monarchies & their religious institutions around the world who have been a huge monster for centuries had attacked them by bloody way and Soviets fell in this blood trap cause its center's mentality of Soviets too was not different than them, like them, racist feudals..

Oh I remember you announced the most ridiculous idea of racist Russians (if my memory serves me well)...

You remember correct, but, with a small missing point.. I didn't say racist Russians, but, racist Russians deep state center. After 1930s, they took the control of Soviets and designs changed according to their ideology.

History / Why did communism in Poland fail? [180]

Capitalism has failed zillions of times in the history. But, if you see money as capitalism, then, it hasn't failed anywhere, even in Soviets, China, etc too..

Maybe, capitalism, socialism, etc are needed to be understood well first - before talking about Poland..

Lets take a simple, concrete example: Saudi Arabia.
It is a country with religious/sharia laws rules, with capitalism economy for ordinary folks, with a palace with socialism life inside (according to a capitalist person who worked hard to make money to live as royals there live freely without doing any real work), even with godless communism life inside palace (according to revealed rumors that say there are drug, heroin, sex parties, etc. there in the palace.)

History / Why did communism in Poland fail? [180]

So why did communism fail?

(as i said in my old reply, it wasn't communism or socialism that failed, it was soviets/russians that failed. so why failed?)

Failed cause there was a bigger monster, monarchies & religious institutions, that saw this newcomer as enemy (like it always happens anywhere in religions, in scientific findings, etc etc.) and soviets/russians hadn't understood socialism well enough yet, hence, they were not strong enough yet to challenge against those who saw this socialism newcomer as enemy.

Btw, another reason, a pragmatic reason for their fails of Soviets/Russians was that; Turkey. Between 1975-1980, Turkey was an international arena for all kinds of ideologies and heavy anarchies. Tens of tousands of people were killed. By the end of 1980, anarchy was at its peak level and a military coup stopped total anarchy and it helped the west, it was an important cornerstone, a stop for soviets/russians's progress.. Turkey folks were fifty-fifty at right and at left. If Turkey joined then to Soviets, things today would be totally different.. Maybe, this is just a time delay.. Maybe, West will do a better socialism system.

Work / Got a job offer (involving Hungarian and Romanian languages) in Krakow. Potential salary? [28]

If you are skilled in languages (and job requires you to speak in even more than one international language), 2,200 PLN is really unfair.

Knowing languages isn't a plus anymore in getting more salary. There is google translation now that lowers values of people knowing extra languages. It may not be professional translator, but, for majority of people who need some simple communications, it is enough. Also, communications today are less verbal, more written communications.

Work / Got a job offer (involving Hungarian and Romanian languages) in Krakow. Potential salary? [28]

Hello everybody

I might get an opportunity to work in Krakow at a company in need of Hungarian and Romanian language.( I speak both)
I would like to ask for your suggestion regarding the salary. They want to offer me 2200 PLN. I believe it is a small salary.
I also have to relocate.
What would you say ?

If you are jobless, if you don't have a better offer than 2200 PLN, doesn't matter you are a Pole or another citizen, 2200 PLN isn't so bad money.

Language / Polish word "Dom" and its similarities in different languages [46]

To this theory of yours, elites invent words and then spreads to ordinary folks.. I say this cause Lord is a kind of elite word.. If don/dom has this background which goes to elite, has single uses, to me, it doesn't make sense that dom originates from Hebrew.. Latin has dom a broader use, a broader sense as it means house in Latin language. But, Latin is relatively new language.. In Turkic, the word "dam" has very broad sense as it means "any kind of house, even tent - with a ceiling" and it has a very wide use among ordinary folks from turkey to other turkic countries. So, I claim word dom/dam originated from Turkic due its very widely use by ordinary people.. There are even verb root related to dam.. Dam word in Turkic is something like a root of tree.. many words are related to dam.. For ex, adam = man, dam+la= drop, etc etc.. Anyway, if Turks imported dam word from this region/middle east/europe, then, Turks once were in this region some tousands of years ago too, during neolitic age too. Anyway, during this age, all folks of the world were kind of nomads. Dam/dom word must be so old that it is used very widely from west to east..

History / Has Polish king Sobieski become an idol of right wing extremists? [21]

When Turks invaded Balkan they were on the level of wild hordes. Their conquest on Balkan and Europe in general civilized them a little bit.

Are you talking about the past, 1500 years ago, when Atilla Hun invaded till Rome Empire? Crow, come to this century.

History / Has Polish king Sobieski become an idol of right wing extremists? [21]

If Sobieski allied itself with Turks modern day Poland wouldn't exist, at least not as Slavic.

As if Slavs/Serbs lost their identity. Crow, you Serbs don't speak even a single Turkic word. Ask Greeks and Arabs too, they don't, either.

I am not fan of monarchy at all, but, give credit to Ottomans who hadn't assimilated any folks, but, themselves.. Turkey today is the most multicultural country in the world, contrary to known.

History / Has Polish king Sobieski become an idol of right wing extremists? [21]

It is Church propagands again, to attract people to Churchs more, just as rightiests like..

Sobieski didn't fight against Muslims at Wienna war during the end of 1600s. He fought against Turks. Ottomans till 1600s had also made many wars against Muslims, Arab lands.. Starting 1600s, it was Ottoman's recession, that took 100 years. It was during their weak times of Ottomans that they were defeated in Vienna and in other wars.

So, while Ottomans done more wars with muslims/Arabs than Europeans, saying Europeans fought against Muslims show an illiteracy.

News / Wroclaw man helping police after recent events in Norway [48]

what will stick will be that the Norwegian terrorist was not acting alone, but in fact he was a part of a large right-wing terrorist group, with headquarters in Poland where all the supplies for the bombs came
from.

Poles, what you are doing is taking responsibility of crime indirectly..

If there is a headquarter of that right wing group, it is London. His group is a London based far-right Knights Templar group who that Norweigan too is a member. (Who knows, there are members of this group on PF too..)

So, it is getting international / europeanal.

On Guardian.co.uk

European security sources confirmed they were investigating claims that Breivik and other far-right individuals attended the inaugural meeting of the far-right Knights Templar group in London in 2002. They said there had been increased internet chatter from individuals claiming they belonged to the Knights Templar, an organisation referred to by Breivik in a 1,500-page manifesto published online hours before he began his killing spree.

Love / Do Polish men like to sleep with other men? [79]

Do Polish men like to sleep with other men?

Probably they do.. Army service in Poland is obligatory for everybody, isn't it?
It is obligatory here and we were sleeping altogether in 30-50 person bedrooms.
It was like snoring orchestra.

(you said homophobia? I have homophobia. So what? They have heterophobia. So, equality holds.)

Love / Woman 23, man 47 years old. What do you think about ? [162]

About 10-15 years ago, there was one with 7-8 years difference, younger than me. I pressed on my brakes as I felt she was too young for me. A few years ago, I met another one who was 15 years younger than me. My brakes were about to burn before safely stopping. In one case, I lost job and in other case, business. Then, they safely stopped and stayed away from accident place.

so many polish guys looking not very happy when they are with their lady

did you see them in beds or outside? i too would probably be looking unhappy outside.

who is the boss? depends on the person and the cases. when it is technology, sure, i'll always be boss. other than such things, i can imagine my lady will be arrogant and she will always prefer to show herself as boss to people. heck, it is ok. but, i'll keep my foot on the brake while she is driving in the car.

Love / My Polish girlfriend's mother called her a prostitute because we live together [113]

No, I said it was younger than cohabiting without marriage.

Okay, I got it. You are using the term marriage as paperwork, signing them.
But, you say cohabiting period is for childcare, food, wealth, etc sharing.
So, you mean signing paperworks is risky without knowing the potential partner for longer future togethership.. So, you see marriage as not a fun thing to do. Okay, but, big majority of togetherships today without marriage are for fun only.

While out-of-marriage relations are considered/done as fun and when marriage is taken as monetary risky instution (that's why people hesitate to sign papers), then, suchs can not take risk of dedicating their lifes too which is more important and harder than monetary dedicating and they should not do marriage either.

Love / My Polish girlfriend's mother called her a prostitute because we live together [113]

are you a saint yourself? :)

I am well aware about unfairness to females. While females are strictly ruled and called prostitutes, males aren't called so, but, called casanova or somethings like that.. But, who calls such speedy males like this? females again, i guess. no?

i think you'll find that other than over the anvil, marriage came about in the 1700's

that kind of marriage started in 1700s was state offical kind. before, its version was religious.. before, it was without any religious or state. humans have always done marriage, whether officially or religiously or just by vowing to each others in the community. Today, some people live together as life term darlings without any official nor religiously and this kind of togethership is very old version of marriage.

Love / My Polish girlfriend's mother called her a prostitute because we live together [113]

the fact that anyone who'd call her own daughter a prostitute just because she has a boyfriend is probably a nasty piece of work anyway.

You aren't understanding her mother. She is forcing her/him about marriage.
She is just having fun? And then, she will marry with someone else? I'd not prefer to be her husband.

Love / My Polish girlfriend's mother called her a prostitute because we live together [113]

Given gender inequality and the glass ceiling, women are more likely to be poorer. Still doesn't makethem prostitutes.

Somebody is a prostitute if they earn money by having sexual relations for cash.

Some females have sexual relations by cash money directly and some others have that indirectly. Calling only those getting cash money as prostitute is unfair to them. Mistresses are usually paid indirectly. So-called temporary darlings too with money involved in relation too are prostitutes.

what on earth is a "life term darling"?! sounds like a jail sentence of some sort. ;->

dedicating their lifes to each others.. (may work or seperation may happen - another issue.) - philosophy behind the marriage is about this dedication, just with vowing at the beginning in front of people or institutions.

If there is no such a dedication, such a relationship is called based on monetary issues and it is prostitution.
