News / Visegrad Battle Group under the command of Poland [261]

Thanks Nathan. That was absolutely my point.

I know it looks like a fantasia now. But again I know that this is the cure for the countries I mentioned.

Let's start with Turkey-Ukraine alliance :) I am sure V4 and others will follow.

In an alliance where 1-2 countries rule, others can develop as much as masters want. That is they can not show their optimum performance.

In our allance there will not be any dominant ruler. This will cause synergy and team work for the future success of it.

Nukes count as a clincher ;)

Economic alliance? Oh, ok

An economic alliance within these countries will maintain an amazing growth and this will bring huge military power at the end.

Nobody from that region can tame 2 nuclear powers and Germany, rock. Come on ;)

To be a nuclear power is just a will and time issue. Even Iran has now.

But this alliance will mainly be an economic alliance. Not for tensions or war.

But as BB as master of EU :) immediately reminded war, this alliance will need a strong defensive military power of course.

Well, what is the sense in such an alliance?

The motivation will be a balance against Germany-France-UK triangle in all aspects mainly economy and military.

None of the members of Middle & East Europe will dominate the others. All the countries in that group are not super powers and have great potantial to develop if they can have chance to show themselves.

I am serious seanus.

We can share the power with Poland and other members.

I am sure when it is likely to materialize Serbia will support it too.

I will add three countries to the alliance Lithuania, Estonia and Finland.

Imagine the map ;

Alliance 1

Germanic + Latin Europe West European Union

Alliance 2

Slavic + Turanic Europe Middle & East European Union

Language / Poland in different languages? [74]

This is an interesting thread. However, I beleive I can bring this discussion to an informed conclusion.

The term "besermyans" is probably a corruption of the Hungarian word "Besenyo" which means Pechenegs or in Russian/Polish PATZINAKS.

I don't know if besermyans means Pechenegs, but you are right pechenegs and cumans are Turkic tribes.

Also, we Turks think that Turks and Magyars may not be brothers but they are cousins for sure. Not only our ancestors Huns, Avars lived in that lands as well as Cumans and Pecenegs but also Turks and Magyars lived together and mixed in today's Russian steps. No need to mention 150 years of Ottoman rule in Hungary.

While I am not a liberal rock

Do not feel that I am following you but in ''What do Poles think about Turks'' thread post 674 you say '' I am a liberal ''. Now you say the opposite.

You need an explanation I think. Otherwise no need to talk anymore.

Fortunately now their territory is a very small percent of the peninsula.

In that very small percent of the peninsula 10.000.000 Turks live which is equal to whole Greece population.

On the other hand, Turkey has got a very positive impact on the folks of a lot of Balkan nation and still a lot of Turks are living in Balkan countries remained from Ottoman times.

Ask Bosniaks, Macedonians, Albanians and Kosovans or Turks living in Greece (150.000), Bulgaria (800.000) if Turkey is in Balkan or not.

I've got to admit...all the people from the Balkans on this forum all brag about their countries lol.

Yes and it is good I think. Patriotism does not mean racism. Patriots have respect for other nations.
I think people in this forum knows that I am not insulting other nations, races, religions etc.

I believe World State idea is utopic. What kind of a state can it be ? Liberals like you wants to show it as an ideal where all human beings will be equal. But in fact you are serving to the richest families of the world.

As a social democrat I am sure that I am more sensitive to the poorness and starvation in Africa than a liberal.

Love / What are the most popular ethnicities for Polish women [90]

What is your behavior to them?

Mostly friendly. One example, there are many football players from Africa in almost every team in Turkish league. I never heard that any of them complained from racism. Another example can be my friend from Kongo in university. After university he did not turn back to his country and worked in Turkey.

Religion is not that important for good majority of Turkish people (Especially in western part of Turkey). I know many Turkish girls who will not care religion if they like the guy.

You are right Mephias and I am sure there are some marriages too.

A Turkish girl can marry a Polish guy. Her parents will not be happy at the beginning. It is not about religion but mostly because of language difference and possibility of their daughter's leaving Turkey.

If the guy stays in Turkey, learns Turkish and can find a good job, there will not be a problem.

Life / Poles - what other nationality would you say you are most like? [125]

Turks and Magyars are cousins and two nations are aware of that fact.

Other comments are just a speculation.

The word "Hungarian" is thought to be derived from the Bulgar-Turkic Onogur, possibly because the Magyars were neighbours (or confederates) of the Empire of the Onogurs in the 6th century, whose leading tribal union was called the "Onogurs" (meaning "ten tribes" or "ten arrows" in Old Turkic; see below)

Genealogy / The surname "Turek" [11]

I know that Turek means Turk in Polish.

The meaning of Turk is ''strong''. That explains in Polish language tur means strength.

Turks and Poles were neighbours in the history. Sometimes enemy but mostly friend.

I was watching a history program in TV channel last week. One of the Turkish historians said that Poland was our natural ally in the past and she is still so. It seems Turkish Polish relations will strenghen in the future.

Another example for Turkish surname is current president of Slovenia. Danilo Turk.

Ataturk was probably the greatest statesman of the 20th century. Shame he died relatively young.

I think so convex. We miss him a lot :(

History / German cemeteries in Wroclaw [17]

In Çanakkale war ( Gallipoli ) in WW1, 130.000 soldiers died and 261.000 soldiers wounded. 86.000 Turks, 21.000 English, 10.000 French, 8.700 Australians, 2.700 New Zealanders died.

The war ended with Turkish victory.

After this very bloody war, our great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürksaid for the 44.000 death enemy soldiers lying in Turkish soil

'' Those heroes that shed their blood and lost their lives. You are now lying in the soil of a friendly country. Therefore rest in peace. There is no difference between the Jonnies and the Mehmets to us where they lie side by side here in this country of ours. You, the mothers, who sent their sons from far away countries wipe away your tears, your sons are now lying in our bosom and are in peace. After having lost their lives on this land they become our sons as well''

Turks (who were on the level of wild horde when arrived on this continent)

A wild horde level can not be an Empire. If we are a wild horde who ruled you 400 years, how can we define you ? As domestic animals ?

So, nothing Turkish here.

What about 1800 Turkish words in your language. Can you get rid of them by ethmology tricks ? What are you trying to do to prove nothing Turkish there ? Do not use 1800 Turkish originated words in your daily life. Funny boy.
