Food / Do Polish people like frozen foods from China? [25]

Food imported from China doesn't have good reputation. If it's not melamine then it's lead or fluoroquinolones in fish.

Btw, US and Canada have had bans on Chinese fish imports.
I'll have Chinese food once in a while (rarely) but certainly not if it's imported from China. It's just too risky.

Language / learning Polish using American phonics [24]

Joan, not to discourage you, but I doubt that you will be able to learn enough Polish to speak to them given just to months to learn the language. It's on the list of the 5 to 10 most difficult languages in the world. I'd say two months that you have might be enough to practice Polish sounds if you give it a few hours a day. As for grammar... well... it's pretty much a horror story ;)

To give you an idea of the difficulties:

When I first came to the US over 20 years ago I took a driving test in the great (little) state of NJ. I spoke decent English but I was afraid I lacked the vocabulary that would allow me to understand the test questions, so I opted for a Polish version of the test. I failed miserably. I could not understand anything. Not even close. Someone (a non native speaker of Polish, apparently) translated the English version without any sense what Polish grammar is. The errors in translation did not make the test funny, iffy or grammatically incorrect. The test was a total gibberish and basically contained no meaningful sentences.

Realistically, I'd suggest concentrating on a few phrases that you think you might want to use. That will be enough of a heroic effort on your part, and it will certainly show your welcoming attitude.

Love / WHY DO POLISH MEN LIE? [150]

Obviously, that's what you would mean, but why do you thin I meant the same, instead of "better than nothing"?

One question why do Polish men lie.

At least he talks to you :)

Life / The Poles - do they "bumble" through life? [29]

Poles seem to be the sort that don't really mind for much and just seem to bumble along through life. Am I right?

Actually, that's what I thought about Scandinavians :)

History / Why will Poland always be the puppet of America? [159]

Poland will be a puppet like all of Europe.

The Vatican will become an impressive Mosque complex and the filthy streets of European cities will be roamed by herds of Africans, still looking for the promised land, which unbeknownst to them, will have vanished like other promised lands did in the past. Local jails, and an occasional circus will still have a few specimens of the humanoids with pink skin.

Life / Calendar of Polish Name Days [36]

Name days for Karolina are:

* 9 May
* 5 July
* 18 July
* 18 November

When multiple name days are present for a given name then often the one that follows and is closest to the person's birthday is celebrated.

Love / Are 98% of young Polish girls emotionally unstable and mood changing? [191]

however, the 2nd day the situation changes completely, and theyu become completely different persons,
without ANYTHING happening in the meantime.

so that is NORMAL regular behaviour for polish girls?

to switch completely moods from one day to the other?

I never experienced such behavioral aberrations. Well, at least not when I was young and beautiful :)

Love / Are 98% of young Polish girls emotionally unstable and mood changing? [191]

If i message them after one week, they dont answer anymore.

Between the 150 chicks and 1 of you, I dunno man, but statistically, have you considered that there may be a glitch with you, not with them?

After all it's you who couldn't entice a single one of the 150 chicks! That's a mega failure!

Law / Are Blackberry devices popular in Poland among business and individuals? [57]

Surely not? third party software for sending sms? I can't believe it..

absolutely, positively surely.

I don't think they have to install 3rd party for sending sms. You're probably exagerrating. It must be something with settings.

No exaggerating. This is a model that has been released just a few days ago. Sorta special thingie for those who need one way radio functionality (firemen, ambulances etc) but, strangely, no SMS to regular cellphones.

as for iPod vs. BBerry, the first was designed to be hip and cool, the second was designed for business. Kids and cool people will sell their last shirt to get and iPod. Business people will buy BBerry when makes business sense.

I bet the world would stop turning if you couldn't read your email every ten minutes.

Not the whole world, but some critical operations at work may need immediate attention. I set my BES to send email to my BBerry device before it goes to my Exchange server.

because you can't use an iphone to read email....

Perhaps you can't. Ask for help someone who can.

History / Polish hatred towards Jews... [1290]

You on the other hand just think that the whole thing isn't worth talking about because mainly Jews died and that makes the holocaust a good thing.

Really? Is that what I think?
This is becoming creepy. Harry knows what people think.

As for "mainly Jews died":

There were almost 73 million victims of WW2. There were between 3 and 5 million Jews killed during WW2 - that's 4 to 6% and you say that "mainly Jews died"?

Do you need remedial math?

I also think that talking about the Holocaust is unnecessary.

If only ALL people thought so.

History / Polish hatred towards Jews... [1290]

"I am Jewish and my parents are Holocaust survivors. With others you could say, 'you're an anti-Semite' or 'you're a Holocaust denier,' [but] you can't do that with me,"

Guess what, there is another charming option they came up with - self hating Jew :)

History / Polish hatred towards Jews... [1290]

The word "Po-lin" in the title is Hebrew for "You will rest here" or a "Place of safe refuge," but it also means "Poland." It was Poland where Jews expelled from other parts of Europe settled during the Middle Ages, making it indeed a place of refuge for 1,000 years.

US Green Card lottery for Poles?

Don't play that lottery. It's a trap.
If you win you'll have to live in the US!

Life / What is the reason for POLISH jokes ? [486]

What's that? :)

It's a slang expression in English.
It means to pay a lot, to pay too much, to get swindled out of money and similar.
