Love / Don't want others to join us at a table - is it normal for Polish girls to get angry? [161]

I would be careful of that advice, too. Midas is telling you what you probably want to hear, but if you listen to it, the lesson will be lost:

"the "other" guy shouldn't have swooped in - blame on him

the girl should have made it very clear to the "guest" that he wasn't wanted

Still, my advice is to ditch her as she's clearly a "Polish Princess"
"

Next time, take the girl on the side and COMMUNICATE
You can't change what the others will do, you can only change yourself.
We really don't like it when a guy thinks he can decide who we can or cannot talk to. Especially behind our backs. Especially on the first date.

That is a very serious red flag.

Please tackle my gender-reversed example from p.3 if you're feeling that confident :-)

< does not apply. He does not imply that she was making googly eyes at the interlopper. She might have thought everyone was having a good time, more the merrier etc. so he should have talked to her first, otherwise, they're off to a pretty bad start, communication-wise. I'd be done with him too.

edit: all he had to do was whisper in her ear: "baby, baby, baby, I want all of your attention. You want me to drop this guy?" J/K

:)

why would it be any different with Polish girl than with any other? You go to a place where she knows people, they join you... you might use this opportunity to get to know her better (she's less likely to fake you out when she is around people that know her), or tell her you were hoping to spend time alone and suggest another place. Telling off her friend/acquaintance was a bad move. She was right to get pissed at you.

Travel / My friends advise me not to go to Warsaw because people are horrible there? [30]

my theory is that in large cities the competition is more fierce and people have less patience. They'll suffer tourists, in places where they are expected to be, but otherwise, I would not expect much coddling. That's why I advise to get a current native to show you around. Or go completely crazy and stay at The Intercontinental and have the concierge take care of all that. ;)

USA, Canada / My story. Born In the USA - do I have a chance in Poland, my Mother Country? [69]

F stop, it wasn't an attack on America. It was a statement of a widely held perception.

I think that largely depends on what your interests are. If they a limited to watching reality shows, MTV and Fox news, then you get what you ask for. Not really true if you're into science and technology, for example.

But, I should have stayed out of it, I just hate generalizations like that. It implies that everyone in America is stupid, so it says more about those that think so.

If you want to know more about the OP, check out the basic information on his facebook page: facebook.com/columby

All his neighbours are evil, his family, cops, EVERYONE around him. They have all disappointed him, except the Lord. Unless he puts on a mohair beret, he will not have it better in Poland.

That's why I asked what exactly does Polish mafia mean. ;)

well, she does ULTIMATELY pick, but the society still impose some rules, so it does behoove a man to learn how to approach a woman, and handle rejection.

what, exactly is mafia? How many people? My personal definition is 4 people or more, kicking a percentage of their ill-gotten gains to the leader. Is that what we're talking about?

Yeah I know, getting laid is relativelly easy at the age of 20-30

It depends how high you set the bar. ;)
Don't you think it's funny, guys that think they got the "game" just by reading those forums?

Love / Expecting a baby with Polish partner - "multi-cultural pregnancy/parenting"? [45]

Just do what comes naturally. Unless you won't have the child watch TV or in daycare, he'll speak English by kindergarten.
Neither me nor my son's father were native speakers and he steadfastly refuses to learn foreign languages. In his travels he tries to help everyone with their English. ;)

Stubborn, he got from his Polish side, lazy - Cuban.
Best of luck!

1. Grubas, there is a difference between trying to get laid, and scamming women out of money.
2. Personally, I find those blogs very entertaining. I like the VK's one a little better.
3. Women should read them, so they'll know what their up against. ;)
4. I also think that women's equivalent, "how to marry a millionaire" and similar crap, are much worse, on couple of different levels..

USA, Canada / My story. Born In the USA - do I have a chance in Poland, my Mother Country? [69]

It seems like bad luck has followed you all around. You seem to see all the greed, racism, evil.. haven't noticed any good in people? I looked at some of your links (drum machines are so annoying), not ONE outside comment. None. Very curious. No friends, family, people that will be sorry to see you go, someone you'll be sorry to leave behind?

USA, Canada / Why are Polish restaurants not successful in the USA? [698]

curry powder as a Polish seasoning

I thought the same thing. All that garlic that the pierogi were sauteed in is not very traditional either.
Also, cream cheese in pierogi potato filling?

Love / How to survive a relationship in Poland? [42]

"Success" was meant to denote the creation of hell at home, which gives a feeling of control and power which is impermissible in other extradomicile social interactions.

Maybe the spouse is trying to be too involved in the mother-daughter mother-son dynamics? Just stay out of it, and if they insist, slam the vodka bottle on the table really hard. ;)
