UK, Ireland / A collection of noimmigration's threads or "STAY AWAY from BRITAIN" [978]

It is their right to freely move within the EU with certain restrictions only. It comes down to decency more but many people are opportunistic and will use the options that they see they have. Why did many people go to America? For the same reasons. I know what u r saying noimmigration and I dislike mass immigration too but it's a modern day reality for Brits. It may trigger a return to traditionally British values and ways to strengthen our collective identity. As I said, things can happen from within to curb the growing numbers if need be

The problem lies in the exercising of rights. Poles have a right to come to England. We can only reshape the domestic framework but still must remain within the confines of EU Law. Again noimmigration, why do u worry so much about England's problems? U r studying Scots Law and hope to pave a career along those paths so why does the plight of England interest u so much? Make some action plans and send them to the relevant MP according to democratic process. U should feel safe, I'm unaware of any Poles holding high positions within the realm of Scots Law

Nice article but why do u worry about England noimmigration? Aren't u Scottish? They have a govt who has the power to make changes. I am not anti-English by any stretch but it's good 2 c them on the back foot and they need to get off their asses and do sth. This is not Scotland's problem, YET!!

Food / Polish Eating Habits [87]

Polak głodny, Polak zły. Silesians love good, hearty meals. Perfect for winter!! I guess the same rings true for other areas. I've noticed, esp in Katowice, that Poles don't eat on the move that often. When they buy a zapiekanka, they tend to eat it at the stall where they bought it.

News / The most important information and facts about Poland [27]

Yorkshire is composed of different parts. One shire would be like hrabstwo in Polish. In Silesia (Sląsk), there are 2 parts (Upper and Lower) which is like a region. It's a geographical term. Województwo is an administrative term. That's the key difference.

Love / The age of consent in Poland is only 15 [147]

Noimmigration, if u want to be a lawyer, I suggest u be more thorough. I checked THE VERY SAME PAGE in Wikipedia and I found 15 to be about the standard. Many other countries have 14 as the age of consent, with 13 popping up a couple of times. At 16 u r still a child and the agent of consent in Scots Law is also 16. It has been that way for years. Of the listed countries, the only one where the age of consent is 18 (adulthood) is Malta. U r a current student so u may correct me but, when I was a Scots Law student, the age of criminal responsibility was 8, in England/Wales - 10. If u can understand criminal actions, mens rea etc at 8, u can understand the implications of consenting to sex at 15. It's a case of knowledge and understanding, good schooling gives u that. We start sex education when we are 10 in Scotland and youngsters become sexually aware b4 they hit their teens. If a 15 year old Polish girl doesn't feel she is ready to have sex, then she can say no, that's her right.

UK, Ireland / Polish immigration in UK [491]

Forget the muslims, let's keep to the Poles. Many are flocking back to Poland now that a new govt is in place. Immigration is heading back towards decent levels. Try extending the thread by asking any members if they are an employer of Polish people and see if they are satisfied with what they do

UK, Ireland / Polish immigration in UK [491]

That's a good point. I see blocks in Poland that look dingy and unsafe but there is relatively little crime there. If I saw the same in Scotland, I'd be looking over my shoulder quite often. Yeah, Poles have a reputation for stealing but that usually takes place at stations and not in large housing complexes. My fellow Scots are quite bad for stealing and fighting so Poles may lose some of the things they worked to get and the police aren't that likely to help them

Sharia Law, I don't think so somehow. It's just paranoia and fear.

Yeah, by 2080, the BNP may have drastically improved their support base, so they get 1/4 of the votes of a major party

Life / What's wrong with you, Polish people - is it an inferiority complex? [120]

You don't need to look at Polish philology to see how important religion and culture are to Poles. Knowing ur previous postings southern, u wouldn't have said this as I've just read it. U seem to be smarter than that. Westerners don't have that much to be annoyed at

Love / Polish girls attitudes towards sex. [568]

News / 10,000 ISRAELIS READY TO CLAIM FOR POLISH CITIZENSHIP AND POLISH LAND! [628]

I wouldn't be so quick to call it Polonophobia as let's not forget July 4, 1946, when 40 Jews were killed by a Polish mob but the church and police just looked on. Poles were also blamed for not helping out Jews in Warsaw but I wouldn't blame them for this. Who, in their right mind, would put themself in front of a German gun/in the line of fire? I also know that Poles had some good reasons to distrust/dislike Jews who were wholesalers/sellers. As said in the novel Cal (Bernard McLaverty), 'there are bad buggers on both sides'. This was in reference to Protestants and Catholics

To Krazy Kazu, fair enough, Poland is steeped in history and traditions and I personally wouldn't like to see too many more foreigners here but u have to look at the rights of people. We are not talking large numbers coming into Poland. In Britain, esp in Scotland, we have accepted many Poles which has raised awareness of your culture and, in the process, has heightened curiosity. It would be unfair to be overly strict on Brits and other countries to turn them away due to an ostensibly NS agenda

News / Poland - Third World Country?? [300]

There are a couple of industries here in Poland that could possibly rival those in America. I have in mind telecommunications esp, Poland has some great companies that could be described as cutting-edge. Yeah, there is some poverty here but there is in Scotland also and Scotland has some of the best industries in the world, e.g tourism, farming, oil/gas etc etc. Poland is not a third world country although it still lags behind France, Germany and the UK in certain areas. Give it time tho

Life / What's wrong with you, Polish people - is it an inferiority complex? [120]

Quite frankly, the biggest problem in Poland is the salaries that the 'przyciętny Polak' receives. From talking with my Polish friends, they are confident in their abilities to pass their respective examinations but they have it hard. They slave away at Uni and receive very little by way of financial reward from their jobs. They must have great intrinsic motivation or act out of necessity in order to move forward in life. Sad but true!!

None taken bro, forums are there to share opinions, it isn't a job, just a way to pass the time and test out what ur education gave u. Training is the way forward but I'm grateful for the education I received. U didn't insult my family so there's no issue. Keep the postings coming

Poland is a central European country but if u look at my posting carefully, I never said or even implied that Poland wasn't Western. They have a greater commitment than countries who are not signatories to the ECHR. Turkey being a prime example, they were denied access for repeated violations of Article 8 in particular. Turkey, in my mind, is not classically Western, it's borderline

Yeah, Chechens have also been flocking to Poland in their droves, not without some controversy but achieving their goal. The Schengen agreement is yet another initiative that redefines positions. The Western countries have a greater commitment to enforcing human rights agreements
