Food / Cooked Fruit in Poland - Fruity Fillings, Flan, Pies, Tarts and JAM [85]

Nah, seriously, I never knock people for trying to learn. Too many Brits are inept when it comes to a second language and hats off to my Scottish colleague for attempting this difficult language.

History / Polish hatred towards Jews... [1290]

Lesser, do u still think ZUS are poor and crying out for money? They extort massive sums from those with firms. If I continue into a 3rd year here, I'm looking at 800zł for ZUS alone. If my classes are reduced further, that'll bite like an Alsatian in rage. Poor my ***

UK, Ireland / A collection of noimmigration's threads or "STAY AWAY from BRITAIN" [978]

Well said Osioł, threads on the forum are strung out by needless drivel. U were concise and to the point. People see such characters as us who can say such things as devoid of substance and simplifiers but we are usually spot on and we need say no more. I tip my hat 2 u, humorous Mr Succinct.

Language / I want to learn Polish. Where to start? [180]

The book is good, especially at 50p. Some of the pronunciation guides are a bit askew but it covers many functional areas. I have it with me in my flat. It even has a section on the 7 declensions/cases.

UK, Ireland / Time for the Poles from the UK to go home [437]

The policeman called it right, the one whose waged dropped from a tenner an hour to 6 quid. This is NOT a slight against the English but there does seem to be a growing number of English people who are focussing most of their energies on their gardens or doing up their houses, spending a lot in the process. They are overly nonchalant and I see that in too many people these days.

I will remind everyone that Britain is a signatory to the EU Treaty, deal with it. Poles have the right to be there. Britain discussed it for years, they became an accedent 16 years after the French and the Germans so it isn't as if we didn't chew it over.

The Polish government needs to divert attention from trivial issues, get off their ***** and give incentives to lure Poles back to their families and homeland. Get away from those patronising twats like on the Youtube video posted.

I've said it b4, if British workers are so darned efficient then they have nothing to fear. The overwhelming majority of employers are British (funnily enough) and choose to take Poles on board. I think, from what I have read and heard, that us Scots are more tolerant than the English although it doesn't matter so much to me that I want to inflame the situation or offend my English friends or those noble Englishmen on PF (Osioł, this goes out 2 u)

Aha, from that angle, I c where u r coming from now. I thought u were approaching it from the perspective of investing from abroad into key industries. It is well known that immigrants, especially Poles, send money home quite often and in large amounts. The important fact is that Britain has allowed immigrants in through their EU Treaty obligations which has simplified the free movement of people.

UK, Ireland / Polish and Irish should love each other [65]

This is a good thread, there are similarities here between the 2 countries. Isolated incidents of stabbing cannot be allowed to jeopardise cordial relations

Love / Why are Polish women so sexy ? [390]

Sexy as judged by themselves and Americans largely. Many European nations have pride in their own women. Italy, Germany, Spain, France, Croatia, Serbia, need I go on?

Life / Metal scene in Poland [39]

Katowice is a really happening place if u r talking about metal gigs. They have some good venues, the best being Spodek. I watched Tool there in 2006. Nokturnal Mortum also played at a place called Megaclub. Poland has a lot of metalheads in general. They could use the release from what can be tough living conditions

Work / Advice on Teaching English in Poland [709]

Callan is a teaching method, Speed is the name of the company that does it here in Gliwice. I trained others in the method for a while.

2 a penny means there are so many that have that qualification that those that have it aren't that unique
