Work / Finding work as a junior programmer in Warsaw [19]

4000pln gross gives 2853pln net = 685eur. Exactly half of what is in your country and prices are more than 50%. Are you sure that it's good deal? Expect, that you will be earning less than local people, because lower knowledge of language and smaller network of contacts. Where are you from?

Work / Finding work as a junior programmer in Warsaw [19]

I meant that these are market wages, that's why she should not accept lower salary, just search until somebody offers her at least that. If she wanted to save, she should not come to Poland in the first place. In Munich, where I am now, entry level Java programmer salary is around 2000 eur net and there are many places in the world with even higher pay.

I forgot to add that provided that you have some experience in Java, like few months internship, part time job during studies or simply few bigger projects done in free time.

Life / Is 10500 monthly is enough for a family to live in Warsaw Poland [136]

Look at the map. Gdynia is part of Trójmiasto ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tricity,_Poland] ) agglomeration. It's like one city, there is convenient transport from Gdynia to Gdańsk and opposite, so salaries and rent should be similar in both places. Just search for old topic about Gdańsk / Gdynia in this forum and find out something from there. As for your wife getting job in Poland read here: https://polishforums.com/work/pln-month-enough-people-india-live-wroclaw-69895/

Numbeo is good source of information. Salaries there are average for all internet users who filled the form.

Work / Finding work as a junior programmer in Warsaw [19]

tiny.cc/hays-report 11th page "Woj. Mazowieckie" says that Java programmer was earning in 2011 min 5 000 max 18 000 median 10 000 PLN gross. If you're just graduating, then ask for the minimum and don't accept anything below 4000.

Here you have IBM Wrocław salaries: You have to log in, but I hear that Glassdor is usually quire accurate, so it's worth an effort.

And check this report: tiny.cc/hays-report page 11, "Woj. Dolnośląskie". Very general "Administrator Systemu" earned between 3 000 and 10 000 (median 5000) PLN gross per month in 2011.

Work / Is 6500PLN/month enough for 2 people from India to live on in Wroclaw? [40]

Yes she is Flash/web developer

I she's good and has few years experience, then I don't see a reason why she would not find a company willing to apply for her job permit. In the end people in Poland are used to deal with bureaucracy. Being there of course will help, because face to face interview will be possible. If not that, then she can always work online through some freelance portal.

Another option to occupy time for you wife is to do master studies, for example in Politechnika Wrocławska is Computer Engineering master course in English: dwm.pwr.wroc.pl/other_programmes/597/master_programmes_in_english.html. It's one of top IT faculties in Poland (at least the one with Polish as lecture language) and graduates get work permit automatically, so she will have much easier to find a job.

I agree, i dont know, may be something part time to keep her busy, because new place+ no language + no work can be too much for her as she is work loving person

She will have no work permit to work part time. No company would apply for permit for part time employee.

Work / Is 6500PLN/month enough for 2 people from India to live on in Wroclaw? [40]

only worry for me is my wife, we both are working here(both in IT), so schedule is like morning 8 go to office and come back by 10 PM, normal schedule for weekday, weekend eat out and visit some place.

In Wrocław is possible, that you will commute 30min to work and work 9 - 17, so leave 8:30am and back 5:30pm. That would give you much more time for each other than in India. Also if your wife is programmer, then probably she will find job too.

Law / Bank papers translated from English to Polish by a sworn translator? [6]

You don't write in which city you need this translator. Google search shows prices closer to 50zł per sheet. But if you were ripped, then it's only because you haven't searched for cheaper option, not because you're foreigner. I needed translation in Munich recently and prices for Greek - German sworn translation ranged from 30 to 60 eur per page. And not surprisingly 60 eur translators advertised more.

Work / Is 6500PLN/month enough for 2 people from India to live on in Wroclaw? [40]

Rent some room for 1 month online. Then when you come ask polish coworkers to help finding you apartment. Offer him some compensation for the taken time. It will be better spend money than for agency. Here you can browse advertisements: gumtree.pl/fp-domy-i-mieszkania-do-wynajecia/wroclaw/c 9008l3200114?isSearchForm=true

(I think that prices there don't include maintenance fee ("czynsz") and utilities)

Work / Is 6500PLN/month enough for 2 people from India to live on in Wroclaw? [40]

According to: infor.pl/kalkulatory/brutto_netto.html#wynikiform - it's 4500zł net. You will have to live sparingly. 2000 for apartment, 1000 for food, 200 for transportation and only 1300 is left for savings, unexpected expenditures and pleasure.

Law / Starting a business in Poland ( English language services ) [11]

I attended government co-financed German language course in Munich and 2 out of 3 teachers were Polish. They simply graduated German philology in Poland, went to Germany and didn't know what to do there, so they passed some certificates or graduated philology again in German university and now can teach German to foreigners up to B1 level. (and higher levels in private schools) I find it strange, but that is the same going for the lowest price. After saying that I am satisfied with my teachers.

Language / Polish Proficiency Test? [9]

Isn't that enough to write that it's your mother tongue? I don't think that they expect native speakers to prove their skills.

USA, Canada / Bilateral Visa Waiver Agreement between USA and Poland [47]

Poland had also various bilateral agreements with Belarus, Ukraine and Russia, but after joining Schengen, then had to be renegotiated, because were conflicting with Schengen agreement. I think that the same is with this American one mentioned by you.

But here somebody writes, that this agreement has still value:

expatcenter.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/staying-in-poland-without-visa-visa.html

And other countries which signed similar agreement are:
Argentina
Brasilia
Chile
Croatia
Honduras
Israel
Japan
South Korea
Costa Rica
Malaysia

Nicaragua
Panama
Singapore
USA

Work / A job offer in Wroclaw - will it possible to get a neat education for my kids? [6]

Let me guess. You're IT professional from India? As DominicB wrote it's too low salary to pay for the family and save any substantial amount of money. It's good salary as for Poland (over 2x average), but for somebody living here and spending here and whose wife works and children go to public school. I think that age of your children would let them learn the language fast and attend public school. But as DominicB wrote in western Europe or USA/Australia you will earn more, and people are more used to Indian immigrants there. (Poland has the smallest amount of foreigners in the whole European Union and most of them are Ukrainians, little Vietnamese and very few Indians).

Law / Is there a difference between karta pobytu and Europa card? [15]

There are people faking marriage, just to get permit to stay and later citizenship. That's why checks are needed, so such people are caught. I think that after 4 - 5 years of your stay in Poland you will get long term permit to stay or citizenship and people will stop visiting you.
