Yeah...i used to love driving in the snow , but even with a 4 x 4 you are stuck if the road is blocked by cars that ventured out when they can,t get through it...You can,t drive over the top of them...

I did two years driving a transit van through some bad winters , and they are hopeless on snow , but with a bit of skill , and a handy shovel , i did not get stranded...

Perhaps the water is frozen and they can,t clean him any other way....?

Still snowing up here in Pomerania , about minus 8 outside , last night my outside tempreture sensor on the Jeep said it was minus 12...

Meanwhile , over in Moscow its minus 22 , but they don,t have snow at the moment...The snow that they had , melted , and as usual caused floods all over the place...This has now frozen into nice skating rinks for the Moscow drivers...

They did a pretty good job though when heavy losses finally forced the RAF to use them...they shot down more enemy planes than the RAF flyers...

During my first winter in Poland , which was quite a hard one , i had the water pipes in my kitchen freeze...

Once i got a fire going i did get a bit of a dribble from the tap in the kitchen , so left it running in the hope it would flush out the remaining ice....

Soon after this i was engaged in some indoor exercises with Aneta , a lovely but silly blondie , just to keep warm of course...!

She said she could hear the water running qute fast now , so maybe we should look at it , no , sez i , let it run , it will flush all the ice out of the pipes....

Little did i know , that the plug hole was still frozen up so once the sink filled up , the remaining 2000 liters went all over the kitchen floor....

And yes , most of it froze , making a nice ice rink to skate about on....

When i was in one of the colder regions of Russia I was rather amazed to see people lighting log fires under trucks to heat them up enough to start , and even more amazed to watch em throwing buckets of benzine on the axles and gearboxes and lighting it , and then chucking more on to get a good blaze going....

When its really cold you need to warm everything , as the metal is very brittle when cold and can easily break...

In the far north of Russia people go home from work and leave the car running all night while they sleep...! if they turn it off , it ain,t never gonna start again untill the spring....

Many people have a heated garage....

Of course things can go wrong....i saw a Lada go up in flames after the owner got a bit too handy with the petrol to warm it up....

When i was a truck driver in Poland i got away without paying a mandat for parking in the wrong place because i kept on isisting i did not know what mandat meant....

In the end i was told to fcuking move my car...no mandat....!
