News / What does Poles think of European superstate? [48]

the whole "EU" would be little more than free zone

If the EU were a Free Zone, it would have done nothing for Poland.
I don't know where you were before 2004, but there was NOTHING that Poland produced pre-2004 that the other states wanted in large numbers. The reason? Lack of a widespread ISO certification.

All infrastructure that existed pre-2004 is your usual Polish crap, where gangs of co-operative workers used outmoded working practices and Polish sourced "building" materials to build roads and buildings that crumbled even as they were being built.

Do us a favour and get an education.

News / How will BREXIT affect the immigrants in UK and Poland. [1114]

Donald Tusk
Jean-Claude Juncker
Martin Schulz

All of them public servants - and doing an excellent job. Did you watch Junckers' speech today? Clear, concise, calming, honest. Do I need to go on?

Some of our elected leaders could learn something from diplomats such as him.

News / What does Poles think of European superstate? [48]

one of Spain, Italy or Poland will take lead and solidify the EU now ....continue to live in peace and relative prosperity

Exactly - but Smurf - historically, Poles never wanted peace or relative prosperity, as you put it. They only wanted to exploit their common man. They are the original capitalists - the szlachta , bands of brothers, every main town, every individual - everybody for themselves, and **** the rest of them. Poland needs to be in the EU to be a normal country, for they could never govern themselves.

News / How will BREXIT affect the immigrants in UK and Poland. [1114]

Merkel was speaking in the German parliament today, and she stated the obvious - that the UK cannot have access to the single market but restrict free movement, ( as that goes against the four tenents of freedoms of people, goods, services and capital). Quite clearly Boris is living in cloud cuckoo land if he thinks he can deny Poles entry to the UK.

So, the Conservatives will get Theresa May in and strike a deal with the EU. If that happens, and it surely will, then it's panic over, but the two fingers to Farage and the rest of the racists:)

As you were.

Law / I lived in Poland for 5 years then had studies abroad - should I apply for permanent residency or citizenship? [12]

I asked that because I want to keep my EU citizenship and rights of freedom of movement after Brexit

But nothing changes. Get a Right of Abode card if you want - Stalyt Pobyt).
The Poles can't tell you to leave, like the UK can't tell them to leave.
I am more worried about the weather forecast for the weekend. There is no risk from Brexit for freedom of movement, especially when you have already "moved"; nobody knows what is going to happen, but the politicians and the lawyers will be kept very busy and everybody in government will earn handsome overtime..........

If you are worried about investment, go on and buy that house or whatever. This is not communism - nobody is going to repossess it. Only the banks can do that:)))

UK, Ireland / Are Polish people moving back home from the UK? [68]

Poland paid the price when it was sold into Soviet slavery at Yalta

Yes. By stalin and Roosevelt......

And Poland was offered the Marshall Plan, as you know - but the Soviets put paid to that.

UK, Ireland / London's POSK smeared with anti-Polish grafitti [150]

Neither he nor the mayor took a moment on Sunday to visit the center and talk to her about it and provide assurances to the Polish community in Britain even though they both could and should have.

I agree with you.

Not that the Polish government would have done anything if the boot was on the other foot. Did they comment about the racially motivated murder of Jo Cox? If so, it passed me by.

UK, Ireland / Are Polish people moving back home from the UK? [68]

we will continue to build, have you ever visited Poland? you may be amazed at the progress.

Yes Dolno - and we all know where that progress came from:

1. EU grants

2. Overseas/offshore earnings.

Membership of the EU made all that possible, and Poles would do well to remember that. Without it, you would be stuck back where the England football team is tonight:))

In the S***.

all friendly Slav nations and allies

Normal people aren't at all interested here in having much at all to do with the murdering Balkans. Not any of the Poles I know anyway........

And they dislike the Slowaks, as Russian apologists, and Hungary - well we all speak the truth when drunk - and Juncker certainly did! :)

UK, Ireland / Why are Poles in the UK complaining of racism when you are racist? [73]

Why is it then that expats in Poland are vehemently opposed by a certain group of people here on PF when they say exactly the same about your country?

What he's doing is what I've been saying all along. Immigrants to the UK are the biggest racists of all. They are absolutely mortified when some of their countrymen are inclined to join them, and they will do everything in their power to stop them:))

A notable exception were the West Indians in the 1950s:)

Brexit spells Dumbo - and it wont prevent freedom of movement, which I think was the main NeoCon and "working man's" viewpoint.

UK, Ireland / Why are Poles in the UK complaining of racism when you are racist? [73]

I have met many British blacks and asians even immigrants who aren't white who have been abused by Polish

Fact. Sometimes. Sorry to state the truth again , but Poles are oft ignorant as regards other races. It's changing slowly though, even if the Polish government regularly come out with racist comments themselves.

After all, Juncker is right about dictators, even if he was tired and emotional:) And Poles have bad role models, akin to Orban. Sadly the EU seem powerless to impose Article 7 on these crims. (apologies to everyone who has seen this before)

whether we will even leave the Union or if.

Exactly. There is a huge debate going on now, as to whether parliament, or the people, really want this. The first clearly doesn't.
Gove and Boris are absent and in hiding, and who is going to be willing to press the Article 50 button? Cameron had a blinding masterstroke in resigning to go on the US after-dinner circuit - his Home Office Minister looks an absolute shoe-in for Prime Minister, and she ain't gonna go for Brexit.

It's akin to telling your partner to pack her bags, and then having a change of heart, and grovelling. But if grovelling is the order of the day, it's better than this suicidal idiocy.

UK, Ireland / London's POSK smeared with anti-Polish grafitti [150]

London's Polish Socio-Cultural Centre

Disgraceful. Surveillance cameras? I bashed a kids ears once when I caught him spraying the neighbouring block - and faced off big dad when he came looking for some:)

Of course, Brexit will not stop Poles going to the UK - probably numbers will increase in the short term. Before article 50 is signed, 100 million Eastern Europeans could travel if they wanted. In fact, I wish they would, to send the message.

They will hunt these people down

Exactly. In the meantime, back in ole Polska, kids spray racist filth, and the police do the square root of FA.

UK showed nasty xenophobic face and I am afraid it will leave bitter aftertaste for years

You could almost be talking about the country as a whole where I live.

It is sad because I would say Polish genuinely liked UK but I am afraid it is past now.

Nobody is "going home" and the (racist) populace will pipe down. They will be prosecuted if they don't. In Poland, on the other hand.....

UK, Ireland / How might Britain`s withdrawal from EU affect Poles there and here? [474]

Labour will never get into power with a pro EU stance.

Why not? Blair successfully sold Europe to Labour voters. Now that the Conservatives have moved to the right, the new Labour Leader can again take over that middle ground, akin to what John Smith was going to do before he so tragically died.

Let's have a look at what Scotland's First Minister has been saying

You're a better man then me - am I alone in not having a clue what Sturgeon says? She rambles on, and on, but paradoxically at high velocity.

She lost me at "Hello" :))

Life / Poland after one year of living here [105]

Is it any chance that you could move to Krakow?

Krakow is awful:) People there have a right old false sense of their own self-importance - fukk knows why. It is ridiculously expensive, kitsch, crowded and heavily polluted - more so than Katowice - and that really is saying something.

Stay where you are in your lovely house Luke and don't listen to all this nonsense about Krakow - the "Royal City." It's OK for a visit, but to live there must be purgatory.

the pro-EU MPs might be using their Commons majority to keep Britain inside the EU.

It will be war in the future anyway - only business keeps Europe together. So dictatorial powers to quell the (ignorant) populace can't hurt.

UK, Ireland / How might Britain`s withdrawal from EU affect Poles there and here? [474]

The referendum has happened and it's now the job of the government to act on the result as they agreed to do when it was called.

Of course. But do you believe for one minute that the Scots will accept this? So it's not the end of the story, is it? And who does the tax revenues from oil belong to?
