News / Polish-American soldier and his wife murdered by four marines [163]

Torq - I actually disagree with you here. After all, innocent until proven guilty so wouldn't it be better to call them John Doe #1, etc? Women often get to stay incognito when arrested by claiming either sexual or domestic abuse as the reason to them murdering someone (often totally unrelated to the crime) - if so, most of the time their name stays sealed. I think it should apply to everyone until they're proven guilty, don't you?

News / Polish-American soldier and his wife murdered by four marines [163]

African-Americans are victims of nearly half the murders committed in the United States despite making up only 13 percent of the population, a report published Thursday showed.

You forgot to add "usually by other blacks". A sad reality. (I find the term african-American offensive and don't use it)

Very sad story indeed and I hope the murderers will pay for their heinous crime. Someone mentioned "long prison sentences" - this definitely qualifies for the death penalty.

The 12,753 people who U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement deported from Oct. 1, 2007 to Sept. 30 included convicted felons, fugitives, and immigration violators...

... I can see daylight at the end of the tunnel

Ok, so by some very conservative estimates there's now ONLY at least 11 million 987 thousand and 247 to go? That "day light in the tunnel" is not very luminescent. ;)

What? Aurelia's post is not even on PF. If it was I would have helped myself.

Not sure if you're stirring this up or really confused on what I'm saying? That's my point, her post was not even moved to the RT - it just "disappeared" and all that's left is me quoting her. Get it? But no, things don't ever ever get deleted here, right?

What is your issue? This is an English language site. That's not hard to understand so all I can see is you hampering people who really want to fond out about Sampera.

No you are missing my point. I already said I know it is an English site. However if a person doesn't speak it and someone else translates the post for him in English thenit is still in English isn't it???

This is my translation of Oleg's post which was moved to the Random Thread (#2479). It IS in English since I translated it so what was the problem?

From Russian: All my family and relatives from Russia (are?) in Poland, don't know how many relatives exist.

Not sure if I translated the Russian part correctly?

No problem and I'm a techie myself. ;)

All that's left of her post is me quoting her (#37) at the bottom of that reply to admin. The posts were removed so quickly that I included my message to the admin within my original post translating her original message (edit function). In other words it took less than 15 minutes from me posting the translation to her original post disappearing.

However, it's not about Oleg or Aurelia. It's about the fact some people trying to connect with others online are instantanously blocked here if they struggle with English EVEN if someone translates their original post. Sad and very contrary to everything I've ever learned about the "Polska Gościnność".

ah it was probably to do with lack of posts from Oleg.

Again, I was trying to send a PM to the admin NOT Oleg. That's why in a post titled "To the admin" I asked "By the way, did you (admin) get my PM?"

I've sent PM to admin before so I know it works fine. This time I clicked send and got an error message. Seconds later I noticed I no longer was connected to the internet. No confusion there. In fact disregard that part - that's not what my post was about.

Life / COMBATING "POLACK" JOKES [460]

Need I say more on the subject?

No you don't - you're a jew hater. The jokes you quoted are not the issue. The issue is the distasteful comments you always make about them.

Such as:

To the ADMIN.

A person namef Oleg was trying to connect with other PF members who's last name is Sapeta. He speaks Russian and basic German only. Within minutes of him posting his original message here I translated it to English for the other Sapetas on this thread. So what did you do? You removed both his message AND my English translation to the random file. A thread so illogical and disorganized few people ever read it. Certainly no Sapetas will venture out there to look for possible deletions.

What you did is simply rude! A person is trying to connect but you shut him down because he speaks no English. That's ok I guess but when someone volunteers to translate his message and you throw it away - well that's just obnoxiously rude and very unwelcoming for a web site that's suppose to encourage cultural exchanges. Pretty sad admin...

I also translated a Polish note and I'd imagine you'll remove Aurelia's and my posts too. Very disappointing.

The language of the forum is English. Therefore, out with the language section posts should be made in English. I can't imagine why someone who only speaks Russian and German would even try to post here, there are numerous other forums/sites out there in those languages that could potentially help Oleg. Most likely his posting here was through a Google search of the name which produced this thread and his post was made with no consideration to the language of the forum. Or consideration of whether people reading his post could understand it.

Where did Aurelia post that originally?

I understand the language of this forum is English but if a person doesn't speak it but still tries to connect is that so wrong? Being from Russia he could've even been related to a Polish family exiled to Russia way back when. Now he tries to connect, writes a message in German and Russian (all he knows) - I translate it to ENGLISH within minutes of him posting but it's still not good enough for you?

Really?

Here's the message you exiled to RT, was it really that wrong of him to try???

Also, did you get my PM? - I got an error message. So here it is:

My post # 37 in My last name is Sapeta was directed to you and all the mods.

The blind deletion (random thread is virtual deletion - no one reads that thread - illogical and unorganized) is very insulting. Do the mods even read the comments or do they just throw it away simply because it's not in English?

Let others help to translate when it makes sense - otherwise it's just an arbitrary English language apartheid here on PF. Not very welcoming to those who speak poor if any English for sure. That's sad and unbecoming to the Polish culture. What happened to the "extra plate" on the table for the unknown guest?

It's an old Polish tradition and maybe you should incorporate inclusivness into the PF a little more...

She posted it right here on THIS thread. Again, within minutes it was translates to ENGLISH.

Yes you got the error message because Oleg only made one contribution to the forum (surprise, surprise).

English is the language. If he wanted help in Russian or German he would have got it from those language using web sites. As was said before his posting here would be from a random Google search. You can look yourself to see where else he might have posted.

Aurelia - still can't find it either here or in Random.

Yes you got the error message because Oleg only made one contribution to the forum (surprise, surprise).

Error message? If you mean error message when I was trying to send a PM it had nothing to do with it. My internet connection timed out (was in a coffee shop while posting from lap top).

English is the language. If he wanted help in Russian or German he would have got it from those language using web sites. As was said before his posting here would be from a random Google search. You can look yourself to see where else he might have posted.

Of course he only made one contribution. He probably typed his own name in the google search and found this site. That's GREAT and you should be excited people from all over the world are finding this site instead of being paranoid.

Again, reading his post it's very obvious the guy simply wanted to hear more from people with his last name. You make him out to be some kind of freak.

When I posted a message in English on lotnictwo.net.pl in English because my question was "too complicated" for my limited Polish someone immediately translated it to Polish. It was NOT deleted, neither was I made out to be some kind of freak because I couldn't speak Polish well enough. Instead they viewed me as someone they had a bond with and helped me out.

This is no different. This person somehow shares a bond with people many think is a Polish last name. He does NOT speak English but someone (me) helped him to translate his message to English - not days later but minutes after he posted. Even that wasn't good enough for you - that's just ignorant and paranoid - you view everyone who does not speak English here as a fraudulent poster -don't even bother trying to read the guy's message.

There's a thread about racism in Poland. YOU (whoever removed my translation) are exhibiting those traits right now although ironically it's because the person does not speak English - on a Polish forum. Go figure...

Aurelia - still can't find it either here or in Random.

Well, right after I translated Oleg's post I "quoted" Aurelia's post to do the same. As soon as I clicked "Post Message" her original post was gone.

Your "delete" staff is fast, what can I tell you?

Have no idea where her original post ended up but it was definitely here a first. Oleg's post first then her (that's why I quoted her on post #37 - to translate).

Anyways - back to Sapetas of the world. Just write in English for God's sake or you'll go straight to hell (= Random Thread here)

News / Did you know that Polish army is the weakest in Central Europe?.. [150]

Having said this, I still regret, that Poland hadn't bought Gripens, which were newer, cheaper, European ...and not demanding sterile runways. In addition, their manufacturer offered fair offset proposals (contrary to Lockheed) and serious customer support - for the USA, Poland is one of dozens of F-16 customers, and definitely not too important one...

A good synopsis and in a way I'm sad Sweden lost the Gripen order (I'm raised in Sweden). However, overall Poland got a much better airplane, the only advantage Gripen has over F16 is the turn radius which is irrelevant as the good o'le dogfights are a thing of the past. Nowadays you get killed miles and miles before you even get to "see" the enemy. It's a well-proven fighting bird and I guarantee you the Polish aviators will love it.

Pib - where's your detailed knowledge come from?

well, what is he reason for using Spanish. If there are a lot of Mexican customers- then I see no problem with that. Business is business is business and it adjust to the market in order to be compatible, no?

We have signs in Spanish in Alaska although not many Mexicans have made it there (yet). I agree about businesses doing what's good for them but nowadays it's more about the fear from being sued by the ACLU, La Raza, etc. for discrimination. In a nutshell, first let the illegals in because if you don't you're rasist. Once they come - print every possible sign in their language because if you don't - you're a rasist...

Make them legal.problem fixed.

We did in the 80s. Then millions more came expecting the same again. No, wait in line and do it the legal way like everyone else does.

UK, Ireland / No job unless you're Polish [201]

Give me the Mexicans anyday over the poles and turks.

I can understand (at least to a certain extent) your comment when it comes to Turks as their traditions are vastly different but Poles? Really?

Does every ATM in Britain use English and Polish? In fact, before you withdraw 20 pounds from your ATM do you have to press 1 for English or 2 for Polish? What about stores? Are all the signs in English and Polish? "Restrooms" - "Toalety" (or what's the term anyways?). Open/Otworz, Exit/Wyjscie, Emergency Exit/..., Hospital/Szpital, etc, etc. ad nauseum. Do you have that in the UK?

Is more than 10% of Poland's population now in the UK? What would that be? 4 million Poles? (not sure how many people live in Poland?)

How about prisons? Are 20% of your prisoners Polish? North Carolina's prisons hosts more than 20% of illegal aliens not because they're illegal but because they've robbed, raped, or killed someone and almost all of them come from the same country. Who's paying for all that?

Do Poles coming over file for food stamps (or equivalent) day after crossing the border? I don't know, that's why I'm asking.

I'd gladly take each and every Pole for each illegal Mexican. Note, I said illegal, have NOTHING against the legal ones. Just the amount of criminal and extremely violent Latino gang members is staggering.

So yeah, your proposal sounds like a great deal to us!

Bull crap my friend. There are employers in US who require you to speak spanish for certain positions and nobody is ******** about discrimination.

Well, some positions require Spanish ON TOP of English, not Spanish only. Usually government agencies where they dispense food stamps, etc. By the way, many people are ******** about that and rightfully so. Not only are we supporting 10% of a country's population (yes folks, >10% of Mexico's population live in the US illegally!) now because of it many jobs require we speak their language. Just doesn't feel right.

Jobs in the UK should require English. Possibly a plus for speaking an extra language if it's beneficial for the business - Polish in this case.

you're way wrong because many, many poles (and maybe even a majority) are freaking terrible racist

Unfortunately very true. However, it's slowly changing for the better. There's of course racism everywhere (yes enkidu it's true - of all people someone like you who's been raised by animals should know how cruel humans can be toward other humans ;)

I have friends of many nationalities and races and whenever Poland (or Sweden) is mentioned I always praise the country and it's people. I refuse blatant racism whether in Japan (you should hear how they often view Koreans or other gaijin) or China (they too can be very xenophobic) or anywhere I visit. I'm always polite and respectful of local traditions but will not listen to anti-Jewish, anti-this or anti-that stories. Well, Russians might be the exception maybe? No, I'm kidding of course. Many good Russians out there despite the many atrocities their ancestors committed against the Poles. Just look at Sasha, one of our PF members. An intelligent Russian interested in the Polish culture, how cool is that?

So while we all might have many disagreements on numerous things - I wish racism wasn't one of them. Like PLK said many Poles are racist but hopefully one by one those numbers will be dwindling...

someone does a bit of research before posting. very good, buddy. :)

Thank you. Actually have had the privilege of talking to a person who used to fight with Masood (he was our translator). Masood is considered a national hero there now (except al gaeda and Taliban of course) and I've heard some of our green berets say that the guy's battle strategies were just phenomenal. Brave and beloved by his own...

You mean like these antique C-130's Poland "got" from the US?

These "antique" C130s are doing a great job in the US, Canada, Sweden, and many other countries. Most of them have been upgraded throughout the years and the latest J series use state of the art cockpit instrumentation. Don't know which series Poland got but don't discount a great airplane simply because it's been around for a while.

It makes many of us here in the U.S. sick to see how he has turned his back on Poland. I agree however that Poland should build up it's military.

Life / COMBATING "POLACK" JOKES [460]

Yes, Skysoulmate, many of the old Polish jokes in this country (USA), have now become either redneck jokes or blonde jokes. I happen to be blessed by being a both a blonde and have Polish ancestry.

I agree. Even though redneck jokes are pretty "regional" too. New Yorkers and other yankees love those jokes but you don't hear them often in Georgia, Alabama, etc.

To me jokes are just jokes. Some can be distasteful and even disgusting but to look for a conspiracy is just silly. I've always heard Arabs are the kings (or sultans?) of conspiracy theories but I wonder if the Polish might actually excel in that arena? LOL

If you were born in America you are American. You are not Polish.

Agree. You're American of Polish, Swedish, etc ancestry. When it comes to races, American with black heritage, etc. I hate the "African-American" nonsense. American should always come first and then you can "fill in the blanks" if you want.

Additionally, I view myself as an American by choice. I wasn't born in the US but am now a citizen thus I'm an American.

"I just wonder if an average (again - no offense meant) American has got access to the same information as I do. You know - by watching TV, reading newspapers etc. My questions are not intended to blame anyone or something. I just have got this strange feeling that the Americans and the rest of the world are not living on the same planet.

I'll bite...

Reading some of your past post I can tell you're well versed and full of opinions on the US (and many other subjects which is great)... I guess the russkis would classify you as "inteligentia" but of course, they'd probably shoot you in the back of your head way back when but that's a different story. I also know that you have Dr. Mengele Syndrome - somehow you think your race (in this case nationality) is better than the rest of the world and immune to the plague of racism. Other nationalities? Sure, Germans, Brits, Americans, French, etc. can all be racist but Poles simply cannot. The catholic religion and our history makes it impossible... (I say our because I too am born in Poland) You think Americans live on an another planet? Yeah right, look in the mirror Mr. Perfectski... (or Ms. Perfectska ;)

1) Ring leader? what do you mean? I know he's my President and my Commander -in-Chief, is that what you're alluding to?

2) You sure he was trained by CIA and not by KGB? I'm sorry, I mean FSB. IF CIA "trained" him they surely screwed up majorly as he turned out to be the biggest lefty prez "CIA has ever trained". LOL

3) Well, I've had the privilege of having flown in supplies to our unit there three times in the last 5 years. It's a tiny place, hard or rather tight approach (due to the proximity of the Cuban airspace) and the "poor terrorists" are getting fatter by the hour.

4) So have the Spanish and the French. There was also a large German influence who at one point pretty much controlled the commerce on Haiti. What's your point?

5) Yes and no. Mujahedin were holy warriors supported by the US (and other western governments). Many were Afghans but even more came from other Muslim lands and their main goal was to free Afghanistan from the Soviet occupation, in other words they viewed themselves as freedom fighters who also happened to have the blessing of their religion - thus holy warriors - mujahedin.

Taliban (or Taleban) is a primarily religious movement and the majority of them are Afghanis and Pakistanis (especially influential in the Pashtun tribe).

For a long time the two groups (or rather the many groups as they're splintered in many tribal sections) fought a very bloddy battle. In fact, one of their best mujahedin commanders Ahmad Massod who was strikingly pro-western rightfully predicted that unless the West got rid of the Taliban and stopped the Taliban brainwash of young men sooner or later they'd turn their swords toward the West.

He tried to get help from Europeans and from Americans - his attempts were futile...

This is an excerpt from his speech to the European Parliament on April 6th, 2001 (less than 6 months from the 9/11 attack!)

April 6, 2001: Rebel Leader Warns Europe and US About Large-Scale Imminent Al-Qaeda Attacks

Ahmed Shah Massoud speaking before European Parliament. [Source: Robert Sanchez/ Black Star]
Ahmed Shah Massoud, leader of the Northern Alliance fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan, has been trying to get aid from the US but his people are only allowed to meet with low level US officials. In an attempt to get his message across, he addresses the European Parliament: "If President Bush doesn't help us, these terrorists will damage the US and Europe very soon." [DAWN (KARACHI), 4/7/2001; TIME, 8/4/2002] A classified US intelligence document states, "Massoud's intelligence staff is aware that the attack against the US will be on a scale larger than the 1998 embassy bombings, which killed over two hundred people and injured thousands (see 10:35-10:39 a.m., August 7, 1998)." [DEFENSE INTELLIGENCE AGENCY, 11/21/2001 ] Massoud also meets privately with some CIA officials while in Europe. He tells them that his guerrilla war against the Taliban is faltering and unless the US gives a significant amount of aid, the Taliban will conquer all of Afghanistan. No more aid is forthcoming. [WASHINGTON POST].

If we'd only listened, however to many "bean counters" at the State Department felt supporting Masood was a waste of money as Taliban would win the civil war no matter what. Osama feared Masood and his gaining popularity amongst the Afghans and 2 days before 9/11 arranged for 2 fake reporters to interview Masood. He would plead for more help from the West however the cameramen had explosives hidden in their equipment and Masood was killed.

Somewhat related - the widow to one of the assassins remarried to another jihadist...

Today Taliban and Mujahedin often work together however it's a "your enemy is my enemy" type of brotherhood. We (the US) screwed up in a great detail when we abandoned the mujahedin after their win over the Soviets. Wilson rightfully predicted it was a big mistake and that we needed to build schools and hospitals there to help them recover from the Russki occupation. Short term gains of saving money prevailed in Pentagon and just like Wilson predicted - they turned against us.

A good friend of mine (and a neighbor) is retired from the CIA and he said the movie was fairly accurate although they exaggerated Wilson's extravagance in the movie. Either way, good movie and a great history lesson too.

More importantly - what's your point? ...or what's your beef as I'm sure there's a reason to your diatribe...

History / Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, Serbia- segmented. Who is next? Poland? [90]

Crow, people are divided and the government has taken their stand. The Czech and Polish governments recognised Kosovo and people have mixed allegiances.

I agree but the mass murders committed by Serbs (I know, it's all propaganda Crow isn't it? ;) didn't help the Serb cause. ALL sides were guilty of attrocities but the Serbs took the price due to the size of the former Yugoslav army, a primarily pro-Serbian entity.

Yugoslavia was a "fake" country to begin with created by the Western powers after WWI. Better divorce than a bad and an abusive marriage.

The abuse of the Kosovo minority was plain stupid. Had the Serbs tried to grant them more autonomy and respected their basic right (in reality and NOT in words and empty declarations) Kosovo would still be part of Serbia today. I'm no fan of Kosovo Muslim fanatics and they too committed many crimes against the Serbs but instead of being smart Serbs chose to rely on Russia and said "all or nothing." Well, they got nothing in the end. Heck, even Montenegrins got fed up with the Serbs.

I doubt Poland needs to fear losing Śląsk however maybe Vojvodina will follow Montenegro in the future? Hopefully your countrymen and women have learned from past mistakes...

Life / COMBATING "POLACK" JOKES [460]

Perhaps you are correct, jews no longer spread Polak jokes, they are just being outright liars, obnoxious and willing to use any trick up their sleeve to demean Poles without even trying to be funny.

SHT - I am so glad you are not French because if you were you'd have died of a heart attack long time ago if silly jokes bother you so much. If there's one nationality that ALWAYS gets made fun of in the US it'd be the French. Very often it's pretty innocent stuff but still - French are the true "victims" in this despicable "joke-gate"! ;)

"French - the only military with rear-view mirrors on their tanks."

Q: What's the motto of the US Marine Corps?
A: Semper Fi (Always Faithful)
Q: What's the motto of the French Army?
A: Stop, drop, and run!

Q: How do you confuse a French Soldier?
A: Give him a rifle and ask him to shoot it.

Q. How many Frenchmen does it take to screw in a lightbulb? A. One, because he holds the bulb and all of Europe revolves around him

"I would rather have a German division in front of me than a French one behind me." --- well, not a joke but quote by General George S. Patton

Q: How do you get a French waiter's attention?
A: Start ordering in German.

What do you call a Frenchman advancing on Baghdad? A salesman

Feel better? LOL

Seriously, I've lived in the States for quite some time and it's extremely rare to hear "polak jokes" whether on the East or West coast.

Your vicious Jew hate is just sad, hope one day you'll be able to free your mind and see people for who they really are - people.

The New York Times is a good example of a Left-Wing Anti-Polish hate newspaper. I would say 7 out of 10 times when ever the New York Times does an article on Poland its critical of Poland or if it complements Poland, its a back handed complement.

Interesting - have you noticed that The New York Times is even more anti-American than it is anti-Polish? Yes it is very leftist and that's why many call it Pravda of the East Coast. If you find an anti-Polish comment there somewhere usually it's because Poland might have somehow helped the NYT's biggest enemy of them all - the United States. (Yes, I'm generalizing and they do have some very good articles too.)

I read it every day by the way just to see how the enemy thinks. (Yeah, I also read Cosmo LOL)

Life / COMBATING "POLACK" JOKES [460]

Yet that’s exactly what the Jews in US do by spreading the Polak Jokes. Funny how one is considered distasteful and the other just a joke. Imagine that.

Stop perpetuating that nonsense.

Polak jokes are NOT as common as you think (unless you're hyper sensitive).

Those jokes started looong before WWII and had nothing to do with Jews. East Europeans (at the time most of them were from Polish areas) were the first group of immigrants to America who spoke no English whatsoever. Most immigrants of the past had some relatives in the US and picked up some English fairly quickly. Then a large group of Poles (and Ukrainians, Russians, etc.) came and often when looking for jobs they'd say "I'm Polak, no English". The locals soon started poking fun of them and thus the Polak joke was born. I read about it in Chicago many moons ago, I read it in a Polish local newspaper in a Polish restaurant that brought up the subject, a tiny "did you know? - comment that no one paid any attention to because it's such a non-issue. Hardly a "pro-Jewish establishment."

Of course, it probably makes you feel better to blame the Jews for it and for so many other things... In fact, I heard the reason the Polish grammar is so complicated is because the Jews messed it all up... Oh, and Panorama Racławicka in reality depicts Poles slaughtering the Jews... The Jews also faked the moon landing, the guards in concentration camps were all Jews and Hitler only pretended to hate them as in reality "Third Reich" when translated from German to Hebrew to Yiddish and finally to Aramaic and read backwards means "Third Masada."

Those pesky jewsky...

Your comments remind me of "conversations" (he yelled, we listened) we had with a neighbour of ours when I still lived in Sweden. He was a leader of a local VAM unit - Vitt Ariskt Motstånd (White Aryan Resistance). He talked but also looked like a short hair thug. Was that you Hans???

Life / COMBATING "POLACK" JOKES [460]

After all he is wrong only about 75 percent of the time.

75%? Zimmy - you must be a Nazi! LOL

On a more serious note - MW you see everything in black or white but there are many view points on pretty much every subject. I was born in Wrocław, Poland but feel the treatment the German population of Breslau after the war was very unfair. Does that make me a peo-German Nazi? I simply think that often the truth is somewhere in between. Also, it's perfectly ok to agree to disagree.
