News / Poland's PIS go back to their old ways [194]

can you read Polish Harry

ok Harry can't read Polish - so I'll explain - it was the speaker of the parliament role to send invitations to political figures - and Mrs Kidawa-Błońska sent an invitation to Donald Tusk as a former prime minister - and well Mr Tusk got offended that he was not invited as the European president and decided not to come - do you still think, Harry, PiS is to blame you nasty PiS-hater?

News / Are Poland's politicians able to speak foreign languages? [29]

Komorowski spent time in prison camps,

he did not even last a full half year in prisons
btw Duda declares some knowledge of English though I cannot testify to it because I never heard him speak in English

History / When will you Poles give back German land and the cities which you robbed? [557]

instead of accepting these language groups still are relatively close related?

relative to what? what is the interintelligibility of say Polish and German especially compared to Polish vs Czech? - 2 per cent? - because of German borrowings into Polish? - is this a close relationship? - Germanic and Slavic languages are very unlike each other regardless of common root

I wasn't aware of the fact that there was such a thing as a unified "Slavic" language". Care to elaborate on that?

Before you start your trolling, you should read a message more carefully. "Slavic names" mean Slavic names and not a "unified Slavic language".

if you go deep enough in history then you reach for a stage where Slavic was one single languge - it's the same thing with Germanic languages

Food / SURVEY OF THE POLISH CONSUMERS' CONSUMPTION HABITS OF CAFÉS [28]

Did you know that in PRL the River Vistula roughly separated the tea-drinking east from the more coffee-consuming west of the country?

that's ******** Polonius - I grew up drinking tea and it was in Opole area - drinking coffee was present but coffee was very particular and was never the main drink for my parents

News / Poland's President-Elect Duda leads in public trust - CBOS poll [185]

and refusing to give up his position so that someone else can actually get his job?

some else does the job in question and gets paid for it - this is according to the chancellor of the university - not to mention that it's not unusual among members of the parliament from all political sides

Genealogy / Skorupodski / Golwick - Were my Polish ancestors Jewish? [9]

After Poland regained independence, a forced Polonization of names was carried out which included not only given names, but in some cases also family names

I think you got it wrong - Polonization of names happened in Opole region as far as i know and only after the second world war - lots of poeple Polonized their surnames voluntarily in the nineteenth century

News / Kopacz wants PO to hire more professional PiS-bashing haters [66]

Life / Polish men mostly have short hair, why? [43]

I have my hair cut short (but never shave the head) because when my hair grow longer they start to become disorderly - so in my case this is a practical measure

Work / Studies In Poland, is it easy to survive on part-time jobs? [259]

2)which city ?.living expenses?

£ódź is much cheaper when it comes to accomodation
it's not as international as Warsaw though
as for working visa you will only be allowed to work in Poland (but finding a job can prove to be very difficult especially in £ódź)

as for attitudes to Indian people: there is some lingering racism in certain circles of society and you can encounter it on your stay in Poland however most people are friendly or indifferent

History / The Polans - founders of Kiev and Kievan Rus'. [6]

It is first to prove some link between the Polans of Ruthenia and Western Slav Polans

there are multiple instances where moving Slavic tribes divided and separated - it's not only Polans - it's also Serbs and Croats Volinians and others - there are Serbs in Serbia and in Eastern Germany - White Croats was a tribe in southern Poland - while most of Volinians settled in Volhynia some travelled to the Baltic (Wolinianie) - you see the pattern?

News / Presidential elections and debates 2015 Poland [472]

distancing Poland from its strongest ally within the EU (Germany),

as far as I know we have gained very little from this perceived alliance but paid quite dearly

Study / German v.s. Russian, language usefulness in Poland? [54]

Probably Russian is easier for Poles

well judge for yourself:

dziękuję = spasibo
proszę = pożałujsta
lekarz = wriacz
samochód = maszyna
spotkać = wstrietit'
and tons of other exotic words

for Polish people who never learned Russian the language is hardly comprehensible
still I think it is easier for Poles to learn Russian than Germanic languages

News / Footie hooligan punch-up thwarted in Poland [47]

You've written some really dumb sh!t in your time, but that's might just be the winner.

smurf - the policeman did not shoot to kill - if you are acting like a bandit prepare for possible consequences - in this incident the consequence was death - this is sad but it happens when you act like a bandit

News / US slaps Poland in the face (Comey Poland) [92]

His mistake was not a mistake with the facts; the facts in what he said were completely correct.

I don't understand Harry why do you make yourself suffer in this anti-semitic country - save yourself suffering and go somewhere else - btw I wonder how many of your Polish 'friends' are familiar with your views of Polish history

History / When will you Poles give back German land and the cities which you robbed? [557]

but I'm afraid when it comes to armies even the Romans met more than their match when they invaded Germany. Even the Russians saw the East Germans as the best of the Warsaw Pact troops.

your mighty German armies were thoroughly beaten in the II World War - what kind of historian are you that you need to bring back the forgotten glories of the Teutons - maybe you haven't learned anything from history

News / US slaps Poland in the face (Comey Poland) [92]

the thing is that your average German believed and accepted that he was the Herrenvolk and actually dreamed about the Lebensraum in the east - it's those who didn't get caught in this craze that were minority

News / US slaps Poland in the face (Comey Poland) [92]

Nazi invasion of Poland

yes it was Nazis - average Germans were so much against the invasion of Poland that they refused to bomb Polish cities and shoot bullets at Polish troops - it is actually a miracle that the invasion did not fail because of that - I guess they only conscripted Nazis into the Wehrmacht - this would explain a thing or two - also Nazis were building tanks guns and planes -

I think it's the accent/emphasis that's being wrongly applied in this words i.e. the Polish way which is different from the English way

Language / Problems Polish People Have with Learning English [63]

I still have troubles with articles especially when writing fast as for example in chatrooms, tenses are not my strong side either - for example I often use past simple instead of present perfect (we don't have perfectiva in Polish) - i have trouble with pronouncing the 'a' sound, as in 'bad', correctly
