News / Poland's Economy Is Booming! The EU's Success Story? [711]

first the praise and now the critics. typical west style ;)

Better than your commie fantasy good news stories.

"I don't see why I have to get such a low pension just because the communists ruined the economy," he says, gesturing in the air with his hands.

Err, what? Sounds like a communist entitlement attitude. If I tell him his pension is so low because he's a lazy bastard who should have got a better job would it make him feel better?

Life / Which services is Poland still waiting for? [218]

Don't know why you'd want it.

I used to refill in certain KFC's without any problems too, never did know if you actually could or not.

Me too, give that the cost to the franchise is very near nothing I'd have now qualms about it. The food has a least a 500% markup for a franchise, drinks much more.

News / Don't go to Poland ... because you could end up coming back in a coffin [313]

Now you've reached the core of the problem. Congratulations, you're finally making some progress!

Yes, try change that.. no chance..Poland is screwed

The best answer would be to warn Polish visitors to the Olympics to avoid neighbourhoods of London controlled by black gangs or end up like Luke Fitzpatrick.

Poland should not be afraid to tell the truth, whether Mr. Campbell would be offended or not.

Good luck with that. You'd have more chance teaching the world Nuclear Physics.

People already have a clear understanding of what London is like, hundreds of millions of people have visited. Nothing you say will affect that.

They had one chance to find out what Poland is like and they have.

England have no right to point fingers when it come to racism in Football. Unfortunately nobody is going to care about that - the UK has tried and is doing to do something about it.

online tax returns

Poland has been given a huge EU grant to put all service on line. I think they have failed to get anywhere with it and may have to return the money.

Primitive old zionistic ways to discredit our country . A reputation spread by Jews who own British tabloids and you are too ignorant to notice that . An intelligent person does not pay attention to tthat provocations .

Did you copy that from Mein Kampf? That will make Poland not look like a bunch of racists.

So it's OK to have riots, elect far-right parties to Euro-parliament, have religiously bigotted football fans who enjoy scrapping as long as Euro 2012 isn't being played there?

To me this is just a case of British "journalism" jumping on a minority situation so it can have a bit of a buzz and feel superior, whilst ignoring a lot of the problems in UK.

You haven't really got the concept of holding a major sports tournament, have you?.

Poland is on public show. Every TV station in Europe is looking at Poland in detail. Apparently in the UK they have done in depth programs about each city where matches are being held (plus Krakow). There is intense scrutiny about everything.

UK has got loads of problems, but it is not the focus of the world attention, Poland is.

So you want to tell us that If a fan attending Olympics will get stabbed somewhere near a pub, It won't matter because It won't be Olympic hooliganism ?

No, it will not happen so it won''t matter.

Work / I will be in Wroclaw by October - getting employed while studying? [14]

I am good at maths and physics, i am actually concerned because here in Jordan, Mechanical Engineering is 4.5 - 5 Years

I did an engineering degree in London, 90% of the students were not British, every nationality was there, jewish, Iranian, Indian, Polish, Greek, Armenian and more.

Three years is the normal for degree course. The length of study is not an issue, its the intensity - you may have to work more hours per week and more weeks per year. No employer is going to ask whether you studied for three, four or five years and they may never even ask your degree level - I haven't. Employers will want to see that you are an engineer and that means, by definition you can adapt to the task, not recite a text book. Good maths and physics are important foundations.

I don't think you will have any problem living Poland, don't worry.

Too thck to realize that TVP could produce and broadcost similar stuff about UK soon before the Olympic games

Do you know how many newspapers would print it outside Poland? Nil. Because Poland has a reputation for being a racist, nazi country, so its believable. People will still go to London because its one of the must visit cities in the world..

News / Don't go to Poland ... because you could end up coming back in a coffin [313]

People are quite paranoid here that it will all go wrong. The problem is that it's anybody's guess if it will. As I've said before, the government will come down like a ton of bricks on any troublemakers which could also look bad if there are cameras around.

This is the problem, in places like the UK (and Brazil for instance) they cracked down on the problem years in advance. Leaving it to luck is to invite a PiR (Public Relations) disaster, and PR is what the Euro 2012 is all about (for Poland and Ukraine)

I think somebody should start reminding the world what we saw in London not so long ago... all that garbage burning buildings, looting whatever they could...

Too thck to realise that the Euro 2012 is not being played in London. London is in Britain, not POLAND or UKRANINE

News / Don't go to Poland ... because you could end up coming back in a coffin [313]

It has everything to do with Britain as it was a British man telling British people to avoid a country due to safety issues when it seems people in Britain should have more to be worried about in their country.

No its a British TV program and its telling most of the world about Racism in Ukraine and Poland. You can bleat on about how unfair it all you like, nobody is going to listen or care..

As I said there someone who instigated all that , its not accidental !

The BBC and football authorities have a bit of history, BBC generally hates them and this maybe a way of attacking them for not dealing with racism (and corruption) in football

perfect response.
I'd like to hear Campbell's reply

Typical head in the sand. This has got absolutly nothing to do with Britain.

This is a BBC documentary and its going to show fan behaving in a racist and thuggish manner. Its going to be seen all over the world

The question is what is Poland going to do to try and repair its wrecked international image? is there anything that can be done?

Fortunately not everyone has this impression of Poland; Poland has many things which it needs to improve, but to label Poland as 'the land of Nazi's' is totally out of order and outright offensive!

Unfortunately that will be the impression given to the world. it will appear as a 15 second clip on the news with supporters giving a Nazi salute and every time the football comes on again the same message will be seared into memory over and over again.

Nobody will un-remember the impression, I'm afraid. A good reputation is very hard to win and extremely easy to lose.

Hooliganism is a problem in Poland , as it is in many other countries, and not so long ago was a major problem in England;

England hasn't had a hooliganism problem for decades, but goo to the world cup and other countries fans will try and stir trouble, Verbal abuse, bricks, bottles the lot. All from a 20 year old image.

On the other hand that can be a plus, especially in case of a certain nation...

You mean you want every country of the world to keep away? Because it not just his opinion and its not just the British who will hear this, its the tv documentary that will show the behavior of fans and thsi will be shown right across the world.

Don't worry about England fans, very few are coming anyway (20k tickets sold). The question is whether any other countries fans will attend either.

Hopefully the companies, which are going to lose money, will take care of it, If not someone should encourage them to take certain steps...

You cannot sue if something is true. Sol Campbells comments were after he saw the footage.

These Hooligans won't be at every game, only the ones involving Polish teams. Talk about hype and hysteria.

True, but the damage is one of image. I find it highly unlikely anyone will be attack, but then I don't expect to see any non white fans or many fans of foreign extraction.

That football hooliganism and outspoken racism by said hooligans in Poland and the Ukraine has deterred visitors and is a longstanding and unresolved problem.

And its now very widely know problem which will scare visitors away from Poland for years to come, damaging tourism and investment. This will cost jobs.

A terrorist attack would have been preferable, at least that is a know and manageable issue.

News / Will EURO 2012 be a proud moment for Poland and its people or set back Poland 20 years? [86]

A Bad press if you will!

Bad press. I'd say. Its all over the world. Every single news site, regardless of language is covering this.

Poland could put away for a time being those hundred or hundred and one idiots, and Ukraine could put all those thousands of chauvinists into gulag.

Shoot them, traitors. Agents of Putin.

Perhaps the UN and European Commission who compiled the statistics are completely wrong though and you are right.

And maybe nobody in the billions of people who may never now consider visiting Poland will not give a **** about figures and go with the image that its unsafe for foreigners to visit.

Poland=Coffin=Me. No
