Real Estate / Poland's apartment prices continue to fall [1844]

This is just one guy of about 20 years of age. Paying 750 $ when the average wage in New York is 935$; not so bad for a classy place like NY.

28 m2 doesn't sound so bad compared to 78 sq ft in New York

In Poland(in sh1tholes cities) there are large families of 4 and 5 living in 50 m apartments. That is bad.

Life / Is Poland a poor country? [578]

But is a fact. And Poland's economy is growing.

Yes perhaps, but the country is depopulating to a huge extent, as has been shown on other threads. People like the now infamous Magda, won't return to Poland because she sees nothing there for herself, only a life of moving back in with her parents and receiving 100 Euro a month dole.

If an economy is growing after a period of mass emigration( Even last year, 50000 Poles received PRSI numbers from Irish tax office) can you say its growing. Kind of like saying your family is doing really well since you threw half the children out on the street.

1 in 5 on the Irish dole are Polish.

So any results for January sales?
I read yesterday that there are over 50.000 unsold apartments in the main 6 cities.
Also banks refusing mortgages unless couples have a joint income of 8000 zloty, net a month.

Life / Is Poland a poor country? [578]

there are parts of Poland that are far better off than parts of the UK.

That's still not a compliment. There are parts of every country almost, that are better than parts of the UK.
Is this not a pointless statement made by Dell? Water is wet kind of thing; thinking out loud with your head up your arse.

There are also rural areas with 90% unemployment rate and if you are lucky enough to eventually land a job you get a great salary of 1,200 - 1,400zl

Very true, I know several people around the Lublun area on this, or less.

News / Should countries be boycotted for offending Poles? [60]

Absolutely!I was calling for boycotting them for a long time! Not only countries but also nationals of these countries need to boycotted

hahah, you're joking yes?
There are about 3 million Poles in the UK and Ireland, people are pissed off with them for sure; as there are, now, so many on the dole and back home in Poland the government offers literally nothing in social welfare and is basically exporting its working population to the West. The only policy the Polish government seems to be enforcing is mass privatization and laissez-faire politics.

I think you should look a little closer to home to vent your frustration; however, the people who voted for enlargement(in UK and Eire etc) of the EU should keep their mouths shut if their p1ssed off with Poles on the dole. If you vote for enlargement and equal rights you voted for enlargement and equal rights, so stop moaning when recession kicks in; it was on the cards and people chose to ignore it,while they were swimming in the good-times.

but also nationals of these countries need to boycotted

ah,,,you joking right?? or are you just a stupid pr1ck.

Life / Is Poland a poor country? [578]

Aren't clothes and food basic essentials of life?

Not label clothes, waste of money. Basic food is cheap here, there is no arguing that;but!! its not 4 times cheaper than the West - considering the average industrial wage is.

Car, Petrol, Mortgage/rent,children are what is crippling the average Pole. That's why the population of Warsaw emigrated in the first year of joining the EU. Why else!! If Poland isn't poor why have several million emigrated and not returned??

Why is the population decreasing at a rapid rate; what is it??'predicted to be 29 million or something in 15 years from now'.

Life / Is Poland a poor country? [578]

In comparison to established EU countries such as Germany, GB or France Poland is poor, in comparison to Eastern European countries such as Russia or Ukraine it is not.

I accept this definition.

I don't think it is poor at all.

Not only are you bubble blind but you are also wearing rose tinted glasses.

Life / Is Poland a poor country? [578]

I hate this cliche nonsense define normal bla bla bla

who are always so proud to announce that the unemoployment rate decreased(only because another million of people had to move abroad in search of better life)

Exactly. It's patronizing and insulting, but! serves a purpose for those trying to hold on to power, and those trying to swindle people into investments of the various types.

Work / Cost of Living, Average Salaries and Job sites in Poland [263]

Yea, that's different al right, In Ireland ,anyway,it would most definitely be called a bedsit,as for the rest of Europe I don't know__ had a bedsit in England once and had to share the bathroom so....

no it is a bachelor

I know quite a few couples that live in such condition though. I think these Bachelor/Bedsits, or what ever you call these cages, are illegal in Ireland now. Proper order.

UK, Ireland / Unemployed Poles in Ireland : a crash course in milking the system [323]

How much did they send back to Ireland?

I think the anger is stemming from the fact that they are staying in Ireland on its more than generous social welfare system, rather than returning to the grim reality of their own country. This kind of situation is arising in many countries atm and Poles are the main target of most of the resentment. In relation to Ireland there are Irish families abusing the dole for generation,it wouldn't surprise me if Revoke is one of these bums.

Real Estate / Poland's apartment prices continue to fall [1844]

So does it mean Polish property has performed so badly? Actually the reality is probably that it has performed a little too well compared to neighbouring countries.

Thing is about these guys is that they are looking from the perspective of the investor. The bottom, top and middle line is profit; fair enough that's their turf and that's their game, but as a far as the majority of Poles are concerned what he and Co. see as bad the rest see as good.
