Law / No polish bank account, how to pay internet bill [16]

I just learned something new.

be aware that
1. Not every post office has enough of chip credit card terminals yet.
2. Your payment with some credit cards in post office may be treat as a cash withdrawal
not electronic payment. So if yor internet bill is eg 42zł , commission = 20zł ~50% :/

Language / seen / saw usage [18]

my polish is gettinmg better

My advice. Don't bother yourself and omit pan, pani, ja, ty. It will be forgiven for a foreigner.

Just remember endings
widziałeś film, widziałem - boy
widziałaś film, widziałam - girl

czytałeś, oglądałeś, jechałeś, piłeś, jadłeś, spałeś, pisałeś, biegłeś, kupowałeś etc

Life / Poland heating system, when is it cheaper to switch on during the day and night? [6]

rent a furnished apartment

or find a part time job leaflet distributor :)

Some of the saving masters I know, achieve amazing results using
combination of gas/coal stove and solar collector (for domestic water heating).

Hard to believe that the Sun can heat the oil up to 90 st C in Olsztyn's latitude.

Work / Job situation for hairdressers or barbers in Poland [4]

what the job situation is in poland for hairdressers

I think as always demand exceeds supply. After joining EU many hairdressers ran away. In Olsztyn (population ~200 000) you can take from min 20zł men to max 100zł-150zł women. Full waiting room|booking register. As an employee you can expect ~1500zł

News / U.S. role in Poland is shrinking [82]

is shrinking

thank God!

Half the population still lives in communist-era high-rise slabs.

slabs are much better than cardboard.

Polish business is oriented toward Germany, by far the country's largest trading partner and investor.

and it is obvious that less oriented toward Greenland ;)
